🎥 Here's a list of films coming to screens soon!
🎥 “Frankenstein” Final Trailer: Guillermo del Toro’s Long-Awaited Passion Project Explores Creation, Guilt, and the Monsters We Make, Starring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi — Streaming Globally November 7th on Netflix
Ever since Boris Karloff first lumbered onto the screen in James Whale’s 1931 classic, Frankenstein has stood as both a cornerstone of horror and a mirror reflecting our collective unease concerning science, technology, and the blurred morality of playing God.
Now filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is putting his own spin on Mary Shelley’s timeless Gothic horror tale, seemingly less concerned with the act of creation itself and more focused on the personal responsibilities that come with bringing such a being to life.
“I must confess, I never considered what would come after creation,” Oscar Isaac is heard saying in the opening moments of this final trailer for del Toro’s Frankenstein. Isaac steps into the role of Dr. Victor Frankenstein, with Australian star Jacob Elordi portraying his ill-fated creation. With that opening line, it becomes clear that del Toro is more interested in exploring the aftermath of creation—the guilt, grief, and moral reckoning that follow.
In the months leading up to the film’s release, the Mexican-born visionary has emphasized that his adaptation of Frankenstein zeroes in on the father-son dynamic between Victor and the Creature, a theme he has long been fascinated by. As a project he has dreamed of making since childhood, del Toro—an obsessive lifelong fan of Shelley’s novel—saw his version as a way to confront and process his own complex relationship with his father. But as he’s grown older, the Oscar-winning filmmaker has said that he now finds himself drawing from his experiences as a parent, channeling the emotions and connections he shares with his own children.
The Netflix film, now playing in select theaters, has drawn some criticism from reviewers who call it visually arresting but emotionally hollow, arguing that it’s more sizzle than substance. Del Toro, whose visuals are second to none and who has long been praised for his director’s eye, has always been fascinated by monsters—particularly Frankenstein’s. Yet he’s never viewed them as villains, but rather as misunderstood misfits and outcasts yearning for connection in a world that fears them.
Whether audiences find del Toro’s new monster movie profound or perhaps a bit pretentious, one thing’s certain: the master filmmaker reanimates the age-old question—if we create something that turns monstrous, do we condemn the monster itself, or take responsibility for what it has become? And is there any room for forgiveness—for the creator, the creation, or the humanity caught somewhere in between?
Also starring Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, Charles Dance, and David Bradley, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein will stream globally this weekend on Netflix beginning November 7th.

🎥 “The Shining” Trailer: Stanley Kubrick’s Eerie Masterpiece Returns to Terrify Audiences in IMAX for the First Time — Opening December 12th
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy... but also a very big-screen experience for fans looking to revisit Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic.
The Shining will be making its IMAX debut for the very first time next month, giving audiences the chance to get lost — and maybe go a little mad — inside the Overlook Hotel like never before.
Based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel, Kubrick’s 1980 psychological horror masterpiece stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Scatman Crothers. It follows a family snowed in at a remote mountain resort, where a sinister force begins to unravel the father’s mind, driving him toward unspeakable violence as his clairvoyant son witnesses terrifying visions of past and future horrors.
Fun note: Although it remains one of his most revered film adaptations, author Stephen King never fully embraced Kubrick’s version. His reason for not loving the movie likely stemmed from his personal connection to the book itself, which mirrored his own struggles with alcoholism at the time. The character Jack Torrance, whom Nicholson played in the film, was a dark reflection of King’s fears about losing control — both as a writer grappling with crippling writer’s block and as a father battling a severe drinking problem.
Perhaps some of those nuances were lost in Kubrick’s film, which is more widely remembered for its tense, eerie atmosphere, haunting visuals, and slow descent into psychological madness and isolation. Nevertheless, The Shining proved that two creative geniuses can approach the same material from entirely different perspectives — and both leave behind unforgettable works of art.
So grab your popcorn, maybe a typewriter, and definitely leave the axe at home! Here’s Johnny! And his face (and grin) are bigger than ever. The Shining checks into IMAX on December 12th.

Hoping to reignite his creativity, he escapes to Italy in search of inspiration — only to meet a spirited local woman (Eva De Dominici) who challenges everything he thought he knew about love.

🎥 “Modi” Trailer: Riccardo Scamarcio Stars as Tormented Italian Artist Amedeo Modigliani in Johnny Depp-Directed Biopic with Al Pacino — In Select Theaters and on VOD November 7th
Art, chaos, and genius collide in Modi, a whirlwind biographical drama about the turbulent life of Italian artist and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani.
Directed by Johnny Depp, the film has a long and storied history, dating back to the 1970s, when Al Pacino once considered both starring in and directing the project himself. Over the decades, the biopic went through several rewrites and creative overhauls. At one point, Pacino planned to direct with Depp set to play Modigliani, but that version never materialized. Now, in a full-circle moment, Depp takes the director’s chair while Pacino serves as a producer and appears in the film as fellow painter Maurice Gangnat.
Set over seventy-two hours in war-torn 1916 Paris, the drama — based on the play Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre — follows the troubled Italian painter (portrayed by Riccardo Scamarcio of John Wick: Chapter 2 and A Haunting in Venice) as he races through the city’s smoky cafés and crumbling streets, dodging bombs, lovers, policemen, and critics in a desperate bid to find a home for his art and peace for his soul.
With Antonia Desplat, Stephen Graham, and Bruno Gouery rounding out the cast, Modi paints a feverish portrait of an artist teetering between brilliance and breakdown — perhaps explaining why both Depp and Pacino have been drawn to the project for decades.
Shot and completed a few years ago but delayed amid Depp’s highly publicized personal controversies, Modi is finally making its way to U.S. audiences, hitting select theaters and VOD on November 7th.
