🎥 “Primate” Trailer: A Family’s Pet Chimp Turns Bloodthirsty in New Horror Thriller Starring Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Victoria Wyant, and Oscar-winner Troy Kotsur — In Theaters January 9th
If we learned anything from Jordan Peele’s Nope, it’s that chimps ain’t nothing to mess with. Yet, the lesson still needs to be reiterated: chimpanzees don’t make good pets, no matter how human they seem. But lest you still think it would be cool to have a pet chimp... well, look no further than this new horror thriller Primate, which sets out to prove that chimpanzees might be cute to look at, but just underneath those eyes lies something far more dangerous... and deadly.
In this chimp-centric horror tale, what begins as a noble pursuit quickly curdles into a nightmare when a family adopts a chimpanzee named Ben and raises him as one of their own. Years later, Ben experiences a psychological break and begins to see his human family as the enemy. Once a playful companion, he transforms into a primal predator. Now, trapped on their remote Hawaiian property with no way out, a group of friends and family members must fight for their lives as Ben suddenly becomes a human-hating, bone-breaking killer.
Starring Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, and Oscar-winner Troy Kotsur, this terrifying thriller is directed and co-written by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City).
Just when you thought having a pet chimp sounded adorable, Primate is here to show how fast that dream can turn into a blood-soaked nightmare. In theaters January 9th.
🎥 “The Secret Agent” Trailer: Wagner Moura Battles Brazil’s Military Regime in Filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho’s 1970s-era Neo-Noir Thriller — In Theaters November 26th
Wagner Moura just might be one of the biggest stars in Brazil right now. With his breakout portrayal of notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar in Netflix’s acclaimed Narcos, and recent standout turns in Alex Garland’s Civil War, Apple’s crime series Dope Thief, and a memorable guest appearance in Donald Glover’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Moura has firmly established himself as one of the most versatile and magnetic actors working today. Now, he’s generating major Oscar buzz with his latest film — one that not only takes him back to his home country of Brazil but also finds him playing a man under immense pressure after being targeted by an authoritarian regime.
In The Secret Agent, Moura stars as Marcelo, a widowed researcher suddenly pursued by Brazil’s military dictatorship in 1977 Recife. With mercenaries closing in, he joins forces with the enigmatic Elza (Maria Fernanda Cândido) and her band of underground resistance fighters in a desperate bid to protect his son and escape the country.
Equal parts gripping political thriller and feverish neo-noir, the film is written and directed by acclaimed Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho (Neighboring Sounds, Aquarius). Shot on Panavision with vintage camera lenses to evoke the texture and tone of classic 1970s political thrillers, The Secret Agent captures a nation on the brink — where danger lurks behind every shadow and paranoia becomes a way of life.
Selected as Brazil’s official Oscar entry, The Secret Agent opens in select U.S. theaters on November 26th.
🎥 “Rebuilding” Trailer: Josh O’Connor Tries to Find Hope After a Wildfire Disaster in Max Walker-Silverman’s Tender Cowboy Drama with Meghann Fahy — In Theaters November 14th
Since his Emmy-winning turn as a young Prince Charles on two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown, Josh O’Connor has been working non-stop, taking on a string of versatile and acclaimed roles. That streak continues with his latest film, Rebuilding, marking O’Connor’s fourth project this year — following The History of Sound, The Mastermind, and the upcoming Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Not to mention, he’s coming off a whirlwind 2024 and 2023 that saw breakout performances in Challengers and La Chimera. O’Connor will also star in Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming mysterious UFO project, slated for next year. But if you think this guy is a one-trick pony, or just another British actor with one brooding expression, Rebuilding aims to prove otherwise.
Here, O’Connor puts on a Southern drawl to play Dusty, a rancher forced into a FEMA camp after his family’s land is reduced to ashes by a devastating wildfire. There, among others who’ve lost everything, Dusty begins to piece together something resembling hope—reconnecting with his daughter (Lily LaTorre), his ex-wife (Meghann Fahy), and a community learning to heal from tragedy.
O’Connor anchors this slow-burning human drama that explores the quiet struggles of a man grappling with loss, resilience, and finding grace in what remains. With each new role, he continues to solidify himself as one of the most compelling actors of his generation.
Written and directed by Max Walker-Silverman (A Love Song), with Kali Reis and Amy Madigan rounding out the cast, Rebuilding opens in select theaters November 14th before expanding nationwide November 21st.
🎥 “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” Final Trailer: Jeremy Allen White Channels The Boss in Scott Cooper’s Intimate Rock Biopic — In Theaters October 24th
Fun fact: Bruce Springsteen’s hit song “Born in the U.S.A.” — arguably The Boss’s most recognizable rock song — was originally recorded for his stark, dark 1982 album Nebraska. However, Springsteen ultimately decided to leave it off, feeling that its powerful, soul-stirring sound clashed with Nebraska’s stripped-down, lo-fi acoustic vibe. While Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen’s masterpieces — and Bruce himself has called it his crowning achievement — his next studio album, 1984’s Born in the U.S.A., would go on to define the rock anthem sound, spirit, and cultural image of Springsteen for generations.
So, one could say Springsteen might never have become the Springsteen we know today if it weren’t for his journey through the Nebraska sessions, as it’s the album that forced him to strip everything back and confront his own creative core. Raw, sparse, and deeply intimate, Nebraska allowed Springsteen to exorcize his personal demons and rediscover the heart and humanity that would eventually fuel his best-selling album, Born in the U.S.A. — transforming him from a rock star into a rock legend.
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere finds Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) channeling Bruce during this chapter in the rock star’s life: 1982, when fame, depression, and a haunted New Jersey past drove him to record Nebraska alone on a four-track in his farmhouse. What emerged wasn’t just a rock album... it was a rock confession.
Written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) and based on Warren Zanes’s biography, the film dives into that fragile moment before superstardom, when the man behind The Boss found his truth in the quiet. With Succession’s Jeremy Strong as Bruce’s longtime manager Jon Landau, Odessa Young as Faye, Bruce’s love interest and muse at the time, and Stephen Graham and Gaby Hoffmann as his parents, this biopic appears to hum with melancholy and meaning.
Deliver Me from Nowhere could very well be the performance that takes Jeremy Allen White straight to the Oscars. Hitting theaters October 24th.

Netflix Unwraps Its Holiday Lineup!
With only a couple of weeks until Halloween and November just around the corner, people are already starting to look ahead and prepare for the holidays. Some might even be thinking about Christmas decorations—and trying to remember where they stored all that stuff in the garage. So, it should come as no surprise that Netflix is gearing up with its slate of holiday-set movies, releasing a few trailers for their festive lineup this year. Around this time, the streaming giant has become a hub for light-hearted Christmas rom-coms and holiday comedies that tend to perform surprisingly well for the platform—despite often being a little predictable and cheesy, but always charming, cozy, and full of feel-good holiday cheer.

🎥 “Jingle Bell Heist” Trailer: Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells Pull Off Love and Larceny in Netflix’s New Holiday Caper — Premieres November 26th on Netflix
Christmas movies aren’t all romance and mistletoe. Sometimes, they can be about break-ins and grand larceny. ‘Tis the season for a little light burglary and robbery.

Equal parts rom-com and fun caper, this stylish holiday romp proves that sometimes the best steals come with a side of heart. Because the couple who steal together, stay together.
Helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Michael Fimognari (To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You & Always and Forever) and written by Abby McDonald (Bridgerton), Jingle Bell Heist also co-stars Lucy Punch, Peter Serafinowicz, and Poppy Drayton, and premieres November 26th on Netflix.
