📺 “The Beast in Me” Trailer: Claire Danes Becomes Obsessed with a Suspected Wife Killer in New Psychological Thriller Series with Matthew Rhys — Premieres Thurs, November 13th on Netflix
What makes a reporter any good is their ability to seek out the truth no matter how uncomfortable, inconvenient, or unpopular it may be. For seeking the truth is both a mission and an obsession. But for Claire Danes, the truth is not only a pursuit she can’t stop herself from chasing — it just might put her in a situation she won’t walk away from. Then again, for a writer with insatiable curiosity, the pursuit might be the only thing in her life keeping her from a total meltdown. And let’s face it, no one does meltdowns better than Claire Danes.
Reteaming with executive producer and Homeland co-creator/showrunner Howard Gordon, Danes stars in The Beast in Me, Netflix’s new six-episode limited series, as Aggie Wiggs — a once-celebrated true crime author who’s reeling from personal tragedy and a derailed career, now desperate for her next big story.
Call it serendipity, but her neighbor down the street happens to be Nile Jarvis (played by Matthew Rhys, The Americans, Perry Mason), a charming yet secretive real estate mogul long suspected of being involved in his wife’s disappearance. Deemed a wife murderer by the press and the public, Nile is desperate to change the narrative.
Enter Danes’s Aggie Wiggs, who becomes fixated on his case and offers a proposal: in exchange for full access to his private life, she’ll tell the truth about what really happened. The catch? The truth might be that he’s exactly what everyone thinks: a killer and a sociopath.
What begins as curiosity soon warps into compulsion, as Aggie’s hunt for the truth pulls her into a dark, dangerous spiral. And as her obsession deepens, so does the haunting question: when you chase a monster, what happens when the monster starts to look back?
Also starring Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, Tim Guinee, David Lyons, The Penguin’s Deirdre O’Connell, and Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks, The Beast in Me premieres Thursday, November 13th on Netflix. And by the looks of it, no one gets out unscarred.
📺 “Palm Royale: Season 2” Trailer: Kristen Wiig Plots, Parties, and Power-Grabs in Apple’s Glamorous Comedy Return — Premieres Wed, November 12th on Apple TV+
Kristen Wiig is a menace to high society. And Palm Beach, Florida is about to see a serious shift in the balance of power — one cocktail party, scandal, and social takedown at a time.
After clawing her way into Palm Beach’s glittering elite, Kristen Wiig’s Maxine Dellacorte is back for another round of sun-soaked scheming. Palm Royale: Season 2 returns in November, bringing more champagne, cattiness, and social warfare to Floridian paradise.
Backed by a powerhouse cast that includes comedy legend Carol Burnett, Laura Dern, Leslie Bibb, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, and Kaia Gerber, Wiig returns as the ambitious outsider who refuses to accept her place below the country club line. This time, the stakes (and the egos) are higher, as she juggles old rivalries, new secrets, and the ever-slippery climb toward high society’s inner circle.
Created by Abe Sylvia (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) and executive produced by Wiig herself, Palm Royale continues its wickedly sharp take on ambition, status, and self-reinvention when Season 2 premieres Wednesday, November 12th on Apple TV+. Because in Palm Beach, the pool may sparkle, but the water’s full of sharks.
📺 “IT: Welcome to Derry” Final Red Band Trailer: Pennywise Rises Again in HBO’s Haunting Stephen King Prequel from Andy and Barbara Muschietti — Premieres Sun, October 26th on HBO MAX
Halloween season is upon us. And nothing sparks that tingling sensation down our spines like a creepy clown. But we’re not talking about just any creepy clown. We’re talking about Pennywise — that eternal nightmarish clown that just won’t die, no matter how much you try to forget him. And if you’re dying (pun intended) to know a little more about his origins and where it all began, IT: Welcome to Derry is here to make your dreams — or rather, your nightmares — come true.
Inspired by Stephen King’s beloved novel, this new HBO Max original series serves as a prequel to the 2017 and 2019 film adaptations. Set in the 1960s, decades before the Losers’ Club ever faced their fears, the series dives into Derry’s cursed past, where something ancient and evil has been lurking in the sewers long before anyone called it by name. Every 27 years, the horror resurfaces. And this time, it’s ready to feast again.
Reuniting filmmaker Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti, Welcome to Derry expands King’s terrifying mythology, with Bill Skarsgård reprising his spine-chilling role as Pennywise.
The ensemble cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Madeleine Stowe, and James Remar, while focusing on a new group of neighborhood kids who find themselves face-to-face with Pennywise as he returns to wreak havoc on Derry.
IT: Welcome to Derry premieres Sunday, October 26th on HBO Max.
