📺 “Disney’s Hulu’s Family Guy’s Hallmark Channel’s Lifetime’s Familiar Holiday Movie” Trailer: The Griffins Skewer Every Cozy Christmas Trope — Premieres Fri, November 28th on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+
Family Guy has a long, storied history of spoofing pop culture, but when it comes to the holidays, there’s no better source of lampooning than Hallmark Channel and Lifetime’s endless string of sappy, made-for-TV Christmas movies. So this year, Family Guy writers are zeroing their target at that particular brand of overly wholesome, cookie-cutter holiday romance, where small towns become the perfect backdrop for random meet-cutes, magical snowfalls, and suspiciously handsome locals who teach big-city women that the best way to spend Christmas is by slowing down and falling for someone who owns a comfy flannel collection.
So, if you need something to unwrap this holiday season, Family Guy is here to oblige by gifting viewers a new holiday special packed with all the festive tomfoolery, biting parody, and gleeful nonsense you’d expect from the animated show that gave us ridiculous meta jokes, cutaway gags, and a baby hell-bent on world domination.
With a title so aggressively on-the-nose it deserves its own stocking, Disney’s Hulu’s Family Guy’s Hallmark Channel’s Lifetime’s Familiar Holiday Movie is a new holiday TV special where Lois takes the lead as an employee of “Big Pie,” who is sent to a quaint winter postcard of a town to swipe Peter’s treasured, award-winning family pie recipe. Naturally, sparks fly, lessons are learned, and holiday clichés pile up like presents under a tree — but all with that unmistakably unhinged Family Guy flavor.
Country superstar Lainey Wilson pops in for a guest-voice cameo, performing a few original songs. And of course, the core cast is back in action: Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, and Arif Zahir; all leaning into this syrupy holiday-movie spoof where the pressures of the world are all cured by a little
Disney’s Hulu’s Family Guy’s Hallmark Channel’s Lifetime’s Familiar Holiday Movie is scheduled to premiere Friday, November 28th on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Consider your holiday viewing officially roasted... just like that pie Lois is absolutely going to steal.
📺 “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion” Trailer: Ray Romano Hosts a Warm, Witty Tribute to TV’s Favorite Dysfunctional Family — Premieres Tues, November 24th on CBS and Paramount+
Since the explosion of streaming platforms and on-demand services, where shows are now streamed rather than blasted through roof antennas or cable boxes, it’s getting harder and harder to imagine a time when terrestrial television ruled the industry. That’s why the 30th anniversary of Everybody Loves Raymond not only feels surreal but also feels like a lifetime ago.
It was the ’90s, the era of comfort TV and easygoing, family-first sitcoms. And this sitcom, which launched the acting career of stand-up comic Ray Romano, was the kind of warm-blanket entertainment we used to cherish, back when every family kind of felt like they lived down the street from the Barones’ house.
With nine seasons over the course of eight years — and, if you can believe it, 210 episodes in total — Everybody Loves Raymond was, in many ways, the last of its kind. It was a traditional multi-camera sitcom taped in front of a live audience and was consistently one of the funniest and quietly brilliant shows on network TV in the same era where hits like Friends and Seinfeld were making the most noise.
Now 30 years later, CBS has invited the old gang back for a reunion special hosted by Ray Romano himself alongside Emmy-winning series creator Phil Rosenthal. The special invites audiences into a lovingly recreated version of the Barone home, where Romano and Rosenthal revisit the show’s origins, evolution, and nine-season run on the network. It’s been two decades since the finale aired, but the chemistry, timing, and family bickering that made the series a hit remain as timeless as ever.
Joining the hosts for candid conversations are original cast members Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, and Sullivan Sweeten — all back together to share stories, memories, and their perspectives on becoming one of America’s most beloved TV families.
The reunion will also honor the late Doris Roberts and the late Peter Boyle, who are remembered for playing Ray’s bickering, meddling, but loving parents Marie and Frank Barone, whose iconic performances helped define the show’s endearing comic voice.
So, if you’re looking for something to click on this Thanksgiving holiday, maybe spend some time with the Barones one more time. And for anyone who’s ever dodged an overbearing mother-in-law, this anniversary event just might deliver the perfect blend of nostalgia and heart.
Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion will air Tuesday, November 24th on CBS and will also stream the same day on Paramount+.
📺 “The Beatles Anthology” Trailer: Peter Jackson’s Restoration Team Revives the Fab Four’s Definitive Docuseries for Disney+ — Streaming Wed, November 26th
When we think about Thanksgiving, we often worry about who gets assigned cooking duties. In fact, most of the concerns surround the meal itself, but we never stop to think about what to watch once the families finally collapse onto the couch in a collective food coma. Sure, football is an option, but there must be another crowd-pleasing way to keep everyone entertained between dessert rounds.
Well, Disney is thinking The Beatles might be just the ticket. After all, who doesn’t love The Beatles? And if you know someone who doesn’t, well... don’t invite that person to your Thanksgiving dinner.
Next week, Disney will once again team up with Apple Corps, the multimedia company founded by the Beatles that continues to manage the band’s legacy, for a newly restored, newly expanded version of the iconic group’s monumental documentary series The Beatles Anthology.
First released in 1995, the docuseries was groundbreaking for the way it let The Beatles narrate their own story. No talking heads. No outside interpretation. Just John, Paul, George, and Ringo walking you through their memories of the Liverpool days, the mania, the studio revolutions, the fractures, and everything in between. Now, thanks to the restoration team at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post — the same wizards behind Get Back — the footage looks sharper, richer, and more alive than ever.
Look, with an epic four-film biopic from director Sam Mendes currently in production, Beatlemania is roaring back in a big way. And perhaps taking a look at what the real Beatles had to say about their own fame and fan frenzy might be a good way to get a head start.
Even better: The Beatles Anthology has been expanded from eight to nine episodes, offering a broader view of the band’s inner world. It’s a chance to experience their arc with deeper clarity — the jokes, the tensions, and the inspirations that made them into some of the greatest rock heroes in history.
For longtime fans, it’s a chance to revisit the definitive Beatles story with fresh eyes. For newcomers, it’s the perfect entry point into the mythology. And for everyone else... well, it’s something other than a football game.
The Beatles Anthology begins streaming Wednesday, November 26th exclusively on Disney+.
