“FUBAR: Season 2” Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro Team Up Again as Carrie-Anne Moss Joins the Spy Action-Comedy – Streaming on Netflix June 12th
Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss joins the cast of Season 2 of FUBAR, the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring action comedy series for Netflix. And in this trailer for the new upcoming season, Moss isn’t just bringing the heat—she’s also bringing a few dance moves of seduction, while mastering the art of espionage.
The Netflix spy comedy series, which debuted in 2023, originally followed fierce CIA operative Emma Brunner (played by recent Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro, of A Complete Unknown and Top Gun: Maverick fame) as she discovers that her seemingly doting father had secretly been a CIA agent her entire life. With both of their covert identities exposed, Emma and her father, Luke Brunner (Arnold Schwarzenegger), are forced to recontextualize their father-daughter relationship now with everything out in the open.
Season 2 will see Emma and Luke join forces, running a covert CIA unit together when a new threat emerges, causing them to face even greater challenges than before. As the stakes get higher, so do the surprises... Enter: Greta Nelson, a former East German terrorist spy (played by Carrie-Anne Moss) who was thought to be dead for some time now. She has a history with Emma’s father, Luke, and her return sets off a chain of events that forces both father and daughter to confront Luke’s old acquaintances and foes as the race to save the world becomes even more urgent and perilous.
Returning to the cast as part of Emma and Luke’s CIA team are Fortune Feimster, Jay Baruchel, Travis Van Winkle, Milan Carter, Aparna Brielle, and Andy Buckley, while Guy Burnet joins the fun as an ex-MI5 agent.
Created by showrunner Nick Santora (Scorpion, Reacher), FUBAR: Season 2 blasts its way into Netflix starting Thursday, June 12th.
“The Buccaneers: Season 2” Trailer: Kristine Froseth Challenges Gilded Age Norms in This New Season of Apple’s Period Drama with Christina Hendricks – Premieres June 18th
Creating real societal change takes a herculean effort. But it always begins with someone bold enough to speak up and take that first step.
In this new season of the Apple TV original series The Buccaneers, Kristine Froseth stars as Annabel "Nan" St. George, an 1870s debutante who marries into royalty and gains the title of duchess. But being a proper lady isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, as Nan pushes back against the rigid societal norms of the Gilded Age, boldly declaring, "No man should be allowed to own his wife." Thus begins her fight for a voice in a world determined to silence her.
Created by British comedian and writer Katherine Jakeways, and inspired by American author Edith Wharton’s final and unfinished 1937 novel of the same name, the first season of The Buccaneers followed a tight-knit group of five ambitious young women—daughters of the American nouveau riche—who travel to London to join the city’s elite society in search of suitable husbands.
Season 2 shifts focus, with Nan emerging as the lynchpin in a larger conversation about how women are treated in this era, challenging the expectations placed on them and questioning the roles they’re forced to play in both marriage and society.
Joining Froseth in the cast are Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, with Mad Men star Christina Hendricks returning as Nan’s mother. Rounding out the ensemble are Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Amelia Bullmore, Fenella Woolgar, and Season 2 newcomers Leighton Meester, Greg Wise, Jacob Ifan, Grace Ambrose, and Maria Almeida.
The Buccaneers: Season 2 is set to debut Wednesday, June 18th, only on Apple TV+. So, expect a little more drama, a lot more rebellion, and plenty of challenges to the status quo.
“Wednesday: Season 2” Behind-the-Scenes Featurette: Jenna Ortega Is Back at Nevermore as the Addams Family Expands Their Role in Netflix’s Hit Series – Part One Premieres Aug 6th and Part Two on Sept 3rd.
When Wednesday was released back in 2022, it not only became a cultural phenomenon but also expressed an appreciation for anyone who didn’t feel they fit in a world that often values conformity. Jenna Ortega’s lead performance as Wednesday Addams didn’t just become iconic for her quirky deadpan stares and gothic punk dance moves, but also tapped into a celebration of the misfit... the outcast... or anyone who marches to the beat of their own drum. In a lot of ways, the original Addams Family was that symbol long before, embracing the bizarre and unusual as something to be proud of, as if to embrace your weirdness was the ultimate form of self-expression. Which makes filmmaker Tim Burton the perfect fit for a show like this, as his movies have often been about the unapologetic oddball.
Season 2 of Wednesday seems to be doubling down on the idea that the misfit is the hero, with Wednesday Addams—alongside the other outcasts around her—championing the message that those who don’t fit into society’s neat little boxes are often the most interesting, and the most essential voices in this story.
But what about Wednesday’s family? And how do they fit into the series? Well, it looks like they’ll be playing a bigger part in the new season, as a behind-the-scenes featurette teases more involvement from the entire Addams clan, suggesting that family dynamics will become more involved in Wednesday’s ongoing journey as she enters her second year at Nevermore Academy.
So expect Catherine Zeta-Jones to return as Morticia Addams, as she attempts to forge a stronger bond with her daughter, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega). Meanwhile, Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán) and Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez) will embark on their own storyline, with father and son setting off on a journey of their own as Pugsley starts attending Nevermore Academy for the first time.
Season 2 will also introduce veteran British actress Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Addams, bringing her signature charm and wit to the iconic character. Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) will also make his return for a couple of episodes, continuing to bring his quirky, unpredictable energy to the Addams family dynamic.
Created by showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Burton, Season 2 of Wednesday promises to be just as offbeat and darkly humorous as the first season. Netflix will be splitting up Season 2 into two parts with the first part due to premiere on Wednesday, August 6th, followed by the second part on Wednesday, September 3rd.
“Rematch” Trailer: Christian Cooke Portrays Russian Chess Champion Garry Kasparov in Miniseries About the Iconic 1997 Re-Match Against IBM’s Deep Blue – Now Streaming on Disney+ U.K.
With all these discussions about the good and bad of AI technology, maybe there’s no better time to look back at a pivotal moment in recent history when we first saw how truly powerful artificial intelligence had gotten: the legendary 1997 chess rematch between Russian chess world champion Garry Kasparov and IBM’s new supercomputer, Deep Blue.
In this new miniseries, Rematch, British actor Christian Cooke (Love, Rosie, Magic City) takes on the role of Russian chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov, who, in the early ‘90s, was considered to be the best chess player in the world, perhaps one of the greatest chess players to ever play the game. At the same time, IBM was building a supercomputer designed for chess strategies and gameplay, with early processing components that would be known today as AI technology. It was called Deep Blue.
In 1996, chess organizers set up a game between Kasparov and Deep Blue to see how well the IBM computer could compete with the world's greatest chess player. Kasparov ended up winning that match. As a result, Deep Blue was upgraded and was ready for a highly publicized rematch the next year in 1997. Kasparov agreed. And the rest became history as the world saw for the first time how the human mind might be defeated by a machine, sparking debates about the future of AI and its role in our world.
Executive produced, written, and created by Yan England, Bruno Nahon, and André Gulluni with England directing all six episodes, Rematch was released in France and Germany back in 2024. The miniseries, however, has recently started streaming on Disney+ in the U.K., and we imagine the series will eventually pop up on other streaming platforms in the U.S. sometime soon.
In addition to Christian Cooke, the series also stars Sarah Bolger, Aidan Quinn, Trine Dyrholm, Orion Lee, Luca Pasqualino, and Tom Austen.
On a side note, the same subject was the focus of the 2003 documentary Game Over: Kasparov and the Machine, which is available to stream on Prime Video for anyone interested in this topic.
“Tires: Season 2” Trailer: Shane Gillis Returns with More Blue-Collar Mayhem and Big-Name Guest Stars: Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, and Thomas Haden Church – Streaming June 5th on Netflix
Comedian Shane Gillis is back with a brand-new second season of his hit Netflix comedy series Tires. And this time, he’s bringing some big-name guest stars along for the ride, including Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, and Thomas Haden Church as Gillis’s dad.
Set in and around a small-town tire and mechanic shop run by a couple of blue-collar goofballs, Tires is the brainchild of Gillis and his longtime comedy collaborators Steve Gerben and John McKeever, who also co-star, with McKeever directing the entire series to date.
Season 2 finds the crew at Valley Forge Automotive riding an unexpected wave of success, thanks to a new marketing campaign. But with each small win comes a fresh set of problems, as Will (Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) try to turn their humble shop into something they can actually be proud of, all while still getting caught up in the absurd mishaps, awkward misunderstandings, and ridiculous detours that come with running their own business.
The cast also includes fellow stand-up comic Stavros Halkias along with Chris O’Connor and Kilah Fox.
