Trailer Blitz! The Mandalorian and Grogu, The Dog Stars, Street Fighter and More
🎥 Here’s a list of films coming to screens soon!
🎥 “The Mandalorian and Grogu” Final Trailer: Pedro Pascal’s Mando Hunts Imperial Remnants in Jon Favreau’s Big-Screen Star Wars Adventure Packed with Crime Lords, Alien Creatures, and Bounty Targets — Opening in Theaters May 22nd
It’s been a long time since a galaxy far, far away has lit up the big screen. Nearly seven years, to be exact, since The Rise of Skywalker closed out the Skywalker saga and left the franchise in a bit of a holding pattern. Projects were announced, reshuffled, and quietly shelved, leaving fans to wonder what the theatrical future of Star Wars might actually look like.
Now comes The Mandalorian and Grogu, a big-screen extension of one of the franchise’s most successful modern chapters, and one that seems more than happy to lean into its pulpy, back-to-basics roots. This corner of the galaxy plays like a full-blown space western, complete with gunslingers, crime syndicates, lawless frontiers, and, of course, a colorful array of alien creatures—some cute and some that look downright intimidating.
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, the lone bounty hunter navigating the fractured aftermath of the Empire’s fall. While the regime may have fallen, its remnants still linger in the shadows, scattered across a galaxy now ruled by power vacuums and opportunistic warlords. Tasked with tracking down these Imperial holdouts, Mando also carries a more personal mission: guiding Grogu, his Force-sensitive foundling, toward a future that feels anything but certain.
Genre legend Sigourney Weaver enters the Star Wars family, playing Ward, a former Rebel pilot turned New Republic colonel who’s assembling a list of war criminals still clinging to the Empire’s fading influence. For her, this isn’t revenge... it’s a calculated effort to prevent any chance of an Imperial resurgence.
With a deck of bad guys at hand, Mando agrees to bring in some of her most wanted, including names like Rotta the Hutt, Jabba’s heir to his criminal empire. The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White takes on the role via motion-capture performance. Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese has also been tapped to voice a four-armed Ardennian vendor whose mouth talks as fast as his hands.
Filmmaker Jon Favreau has rounded up an eclectic cast for his first directed feature since The Lion King, working from a script co-written with Mandalorian co-creator Dave Filoni and blending practical artistry with modern computer effects... a result that feels both new and nostalgic. Together, Favreau and Filoni are steering this project toward something intentionally stripped back, perhaps a return to the scrappy, space-western tone that first made the Star Wars trilogy so iconic.
The real question is whether that approach is enough to reignite the old theatrical spark as the Star Wars franchise looks to make a big return next month.
The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters May 22nd.

🎥 “The Dog Stars” Trailer: Jacob Elordi and His Dog Navigate a Stark Post-Apocalyptic World in Ridley Scott’s New Survival Drama with Josh Brolin & Margaret Qualley — In Theaters August 28th
Here’s a thought: the popularity surrounding the post-apocalyptic genre likely comes from the uneasy feeling that our world is always teetering on the edge. One bad day, one wrong move, and everything we take for granted could collapse. These stories don’t just imagine the end, they force us to consider how we’d behave when societal structure dissolves and survival becomes the only rule left standing. And let’s be honest, when there’s a dog involved, the emotional weight hits even harder.
That brings us to The Dog Stars, the latest feature from legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott, who, at 88, continues to move with the kind of momentum most filmmakers half his age would struggle to match. After delivering back-to-back large-scale spectacles like Gladiator II and Napoleon, Scott appears to be shifting gears here, trading massive battlefields for something quieter, more introspective, and far more intimate.
Based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel, the story drops us into a post-pandemic Colorado, where most of the population has been wiped out. Recent Oscar nominee Jacob Elordi, of Frankenstein and Euphoria fame, stars as a solitary survivor living in an abandoned airplane hangar alongside his dog, keeping watch over what’s left of a fractured world. His days are defined by seclusion and routine flights in his old Cessna plane with his dog, broken only when a mysterious radio transmission cuts through his fragile sense of stability, hinting that there may be something worth exploring. It leads to his decision to search for the source of the signal, which could lead to much needed hope or his utter undoing.
Elordi is backed by a strong ensemble that includes Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Benedict Wong, Guy Pearce, and Allison Janney, all playing survivors he encounters along the way. Qualley portrays a fellow survivor who forms a tentative bond with Elordi’s character, while Brolin plays a hardened, cynical gunman guarding his own territory, convinced the world we once knew is gone for good.
Adapted by acclaimed screenwriter Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), the film poses a question: in a world that feels so hopeless, can hope endure, or is it just another lie we tell ourselves to survive?
The Dog Stars is slated to open in theaters everywhere August 28th.
🎥 “Street Fighter” Trailer: Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo Face Off as Ryu and Ken in a Nostalgia-Fueled Action Fest Based on the Iconic Video Game — Opening in Theaters October 16th
The recent success of the Mortal Kombat reboot makes one thing clear: audiences are eager to see these old favorite video games brought to the big screen; ideally in a way that stays faithful while still delivering something fresh and cinematic.
And despite the 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, which really was more of a cult curiosity than anything else, fans of the classic video game Street Fighter have been waiting for decades for a proper adaptation. Well, a new Street Fighter film is on the horizon, and it just might be something fans have been hoping for. If nothing else, it just might evoke those nostalgic childhood memories of spending hours glued to the arcade cabinet, quarters lined up and ready.
The new Street Fighter reboot doesn’t seem to completely ditch the fun, as there’s still plenty of that playful comedic energy baked into this presentation, suggesting this version knows exactly what it is: a nostalgia-fueled retro action fest where style, spectacle, and over-the-top showdowns take center stage.
The story centers on Ryu (played by Andrew Koji, from Snake Eyes and Bullet Train) and Ken Masters (a bulked-up Noah Centineo), former allies whose bond has fractured over time. Their uneasy reunion comes through Chun-Li (Callina Liang, of Presence), who pulls them into the World Warrior Tournament; a globe-spanning fight circuit that feels less like a competition and more like a proving ground. What starts as a test of skill quickly opens into something bigger, with a conspiracy bubbling beneath the surface and forcing these fighters to confront more than just each other.
Kitao Sakurai, best known for directing the prank-driven comedy Bad Trip, sits in the director’s chair, working from a script by Dalan Musson (Iron Sky: The Coming Race, Captain America: Brave New World). Together, they seem to be aiming for something that blends stylized fights with just enough personality to keep things lively and not overly serious.
With the main cast focused on Koji as Ryu, Centineo as Ken, and Liang as Chun-Li, from there it’s a mix of actors, fighters, and personalities stepping into iconic roles: rapper 50 Cent takes on boxer Balrog, David Dastmalchian plays the egotistical dictator M. Bison, while WWE stars Roman Reigns is Akuma and Cody Rhodes plays Guile. Meanwhile, Jason Momoa proves he is having a hell of a year as he gets to embody fan-favorite fighter Blanka. Rounding out the cast are Andrew Schulz, Eric André, Vidyut Jammwal, and Orville Peck, among others.
Whether this version finally cracks the code for video game adaptations is still an open question. What’s for sure, though, is this one’s ready to throw down. Time to pick your fighter.
Street Fighter is set to hit theaters October 16th.

🎥 “As Deep As The Grave” First Look Teaser: A Pioneering Archaeologist Unearths Ancient Navajo Secrets in This 1920s-era Historical Adventure Featuring a Controversial AI-Generated Val Kilmer Performance — Coming Soon
Actor Val Kilmer may have passed a little over a year ago, but he’s still pushing boundaries. Morris, alongside Abigail Breslin, Tatanka Means, Finn Jones, and Wes Studi, the film features an AI-generated performance of Val Kilmer as a local priest; an inclusion that, for some, may feel as unsettling as it is groundbreaking.
