🎥 Here’s a list of films coming to screens soon!
🎥 “Mutiny” Trailer: Jason Statham Goes Full-Throttle Revenge Mode on the High Seas in This Gritty Action Thriller — In Theaters August 21st
There are some actors who, after breaking out in a certain genre, feel the need to shake things up and chase something completely different. Then there’s Jason Statham. He’s an actor who is perfectly locked into what he does best, and fully aware of what his audience wants from him. And what they want is usually simple: a lot of fist throwings, leg kickings and beating up a bunch of scumbags who deserve to have their heads kicked in.
In the upcoming action thriller Mutiny, Statham gives the people what they want: bone-breaking fights and a lot of gritted teeth as he demands revenge. Here he plays Cole Reed, a former London cop but now the loyal hired hand who watches his billionaire boss get murdered... only to be framed for the crime himself. With nowhere else to turn, Reed boards a cargo ship to set out on a one-man mission to clear his name and get revenge on whoever set him up.
From there, things begin to spiral. What starts as a straightforward revenge play quickly opens up into something much bigger, as Reed uncovers an international human smuggling operation. Now the deeper he gets, the more dangerous the waters become; turning this ship into a floating battlefield where Reed is a one-man wrecking crew.
Joining Statham is Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester, all orbiting a story that leans hard into a gritty, stripped-down action-driven brawlfest, a type of genre that Statham has practically made his own.
Directed by French action helmer Jean-François Richet, known for directing gritty crime actioners including the Assault on Precinct 13 remake, Mesrine, Blood Father and just recently Plane, Mutiny could land somewhere between a tight revenge thriller and a full-blown conspiracy ride where justice is served cold and with a right hook.
One thing seems certain: subtlety isn’t the goal here... payback is. And Statham has no problem delivering it with icy precision. Mutiny hits theaters August 21st.
🎥 “Mortal Kombat II” New Trailer: Karl Urban’s Washed-Up Johnny Cage Gets Pulled Into a Brutal Fight Tournament in This Blood-Soaked Video Game Sequel — In Theaters May 15th
People love video games. People love violent action flicks. And people love ’90s nostalgia. So when something lands right in the middle of that sweet spot, it’s hard not to pay attention. This is one of those movies that knows exactly what buttons it’s pressing... and isn’t shy about mashing all of them.
With Mortal Kombat II, the rebooted franchise leans even harder into what made it a phenomenon in the first place: bone-crunching fights, supernatural powers, and the kind of over-the-top energy that practically demands you shout “Finish Him!” at the screen.
But this time, the story takes a clever turn. At the center is Johnny Cage, a Hollywood action star who isn’t exactly at the top of his game. He’s a relic of a bygone era, a guy clinging to past glory while being thrown headfirst into a situation where bravado alone won’t cut it.
Karl Urban steps into the role, bringing that signature mix of swagger and bite he’s been honing as Billy Butcher on The Boys. Here, he gets to fully embrace the ego, the attitude, and the inevitable reality check that comes with stepping into a fight that’s very, very real.
Simon McQuoid, the director of the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot, returns, building on what he started, only this time with a much bigger roster and a clear intent to go harder as Cage becomes the new protagonist leading the underworldly mayhem.
Familiar faces like Tadanobu Asano’s Lord Raiden, Jessica McNamee’s Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada’s Scorpion, Josh Lawson’s Kano, Mehcad Brooks’ Jax, Ludi Lin’s Liu Kang, and Chin Han’s Shang Tsung are back, alongside Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Noob Saibot, Max Huang as Kung Lao, and Lewis Tan as Cole Young.
Meanwhile, new fighters entering the arena include Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, and Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, giving this sequel a stacked lineup that feels closer to the games fans grew up with.
With Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater on scripting duties, the sequel looks bigger, louder, and far more confident in embracing that Mortal Kombat ethos. It’s just enough to break out that old PS controller.
Mortal Kombat II is set to crash into theaters May 15th.

🎥 “Couples Weekend” Trailer: Josh Gad & Alexandria Daddario Get Snowed In With Cheating Partners in This Tense Cabin Comedy with Daveed Diggs & Ashley Park — In Theaters May 8th
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt... like catching your significant other in a not-so-subtle love tryst with someone else. That kind of mood shift doesn’t exactly make for a relaxing weekend getaway. Yet, it’s perhaps a great set-up for a comedy where love becomes an uncomfortable game with no winners.
In the upcoming ensemble dramedy Couples Weekend, Josh Gad and Alexandria Daddario play two friends who discover their respective partners (Daveed Diggs and Ashley Park) have been cheating on them during what was supposed to be a cozy New Year’s retreat. What follows is less romantic escape and more emotional freefall as they try to figure out whether to salvage the weekend... or confront their partners with what they saw.
Now stranded in a snowed-in cabin as a blizzard rages outside, the four find themselves with nowhere to go and no way to avoid the fallout. Things take an even stranger turn when the truth starts to crack everyone open, turning already fragile tensions into full-blown confrontations as secrets spill to the surface with explosive consequences.
Written and directed by TV writer-helmer Nora Kirkpatrick (The Goldbergs, Daisy Jones & The Six), the film leans into that pressure-cooker setup, where the walls feel tighter by the minute and every conversation threatens to explode. The colder it gets outside, the messier things become inside, as resentment, attraction, and bad decisions all start bubbling to the surface. One thing seems certain: no one’s leaving this cabin the same way they walked in.
Co-starring Kevin Pollak, Couples Weekend arrives in theaters May 8th. Bring a friend you can trust and a partner you probably shouldn’t.
