🎥 “Primetime” Trailer: Robert Pattinson Steps Into the Uncomfortable World of Dateline Host Chris Hansen in This New True-Crime Drama About the Rise of the Hidden-Camera Sting Series ‘To Catch a Predator’ — Hitting Theaters September 25th
Robert Pattinson is having a hell of a year. He kicked off 2026 with the thought-provoking relationship drama The Drama, starring opposite Zendaya as a couple rethinking their wedding after a devastating revelation. He then shared the screen with her again, among many other big-name stars, in Christopher Nolan’s summer epic The Odyssey. Pattinson is also set to reunite with Zendaya one more time later this year in the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three.
But in one of the rare Pattinson projects this year without Zendaya in the credits, he’s stepping into a very different kind of spotlight. Which is good, because we were beginning to think these two had become a package deal.
In Primetime, Pattinson plays Chris Hansen (yes, that Chris Hansen!) in a drama inspired by the rise of the Dateline program To Catch a Predator, where hidden cameras, police stings, television ethics, and the hunger for appointment viewing all get tangled up in one very uncomfortable broadcast machine.
Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed documentary Some Kind of Heaven, the film seems to examine how true crime, reality television, and law enforcement can become a messy combination that may start with good intentions but eventually turns justice into something made for the cameras. It raises the question: Where is the line between watching online predators face consequences and turning that deeply disturbing, awkward confrontation into primetime entertainment?
Also co-starring Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers, Matthew Maher, and Bokeem Woodbine, Primetime looks to give Pattinson one more unconventional role in a year already full of big swings. And judging from what he’s done already, he seems right at home taking the strangest possible parts and still finding new ways to surprise us.
Primetime is set to open in theaters September 25th.
🎥 “Insidious: Out of the Further” Final Trailer: A Young Mother Opens the Door to The Further in Blumhouse’s Latest Supernatural Horror Sequel Starring Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, and Lin Shaye — Arriving in Theaters August 21st
To be totally honest, when we think of successful horror franchises, Insidious might not be the first one that comes to mind. But five movies in, this franchise has quietly become one of Blumhouse’s most reliable horror film series in its catalog. And if you think about it, it makes sense, since every family has an innate fear of an unseen force that could possibly harm the people closest to them.
Now, with Insidious: Out of the Further, the franchise is opening the door one more time. Only in this case, The Further may not be where the living get trapped. It may be where the dead finally find their way out. And that could only mean one thing: home is about to become the scariest place to hide.
Starring Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and franchise regular Lin Shaye as spiritual medium Elise Rainier, Insidious: Out of the Further follows a young mother who discovers she can travel into The Further, only to realize she can also bring its demons back with her. While raising her young daughter in the house where she grew up, Gemma’s connection to the spirit realm turns from a terrifying gift to an open invitation, as the evil inside The Further begins looking for a way into the living world.
Horror filmmaker Jacob Chase, who previously turned his short film Larry into the 2020 supernatural thriller Come Play, writes and directs this new installment, seemingly bringing his brand of creepy childhood terror into the Insidious universe.
So, if you’re looking for a good little scare with plenty of the franchise’s signature jump scares this month, this one might do the trick as the film heads into the tail end of summer, turning those last warm nights into something a little more... shall we say, insidious.

Directed by music-video veteran Romain Gavras, following up his much-underseen French riot thriller Athena, his latest feature turns celebrity vanity, billionaire excess, and apocalyptic belief into one very chaotic night. Also starring Salma Hayek Pinault, Vincent Cassel, Ambika Mod, Sam Richardson, John Malkovich, and Charli XCX, the film suggests that saving the world may require a little “sacrifice,” so why not choose the people already acting like they own it?

Welcome to New York City, where you always have to stay alert because you never know who might be reaching for what isn’t theirs. John Turturro stars as a veteran pickpocket trying to survive in a cashless city in this new crime comedy-drama, alongside Giancarlo Esposito, Steve Buscemi, Will Price, Tatiana Maslany, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Turturro’s Harry Lehman lives carefully and quietly, until one lifted wallet leaves him holding a valuable USB drive and running from a crime family that wants it back. In a city this big, one bad grab can make everything feel very small in a hurry. Written and directed by actor-filmmaker Noah Segan, known for his collaborations with Rian Johnson, the film is billed as a warts-and-all love letter to New York, where the old-school thief is becoming just as endangered as the cash he used to steal.

This cut, which fans have been anticipating for years, is said to restore Carter’s original horror-driven vision, giving the 2008 film a more disturbing shape than the version that first hit theaters. So, the truth is still out there, only now it looks a lot uglier.

But this year, Nicolas Cage is giving the calendar another reason to circle the month. David O. Russell’s new Amazon original sports drama, now set for Nov. 18th, follows Madden (played by Cage under heavy prosthetic makeup) from his days reshaping the Oakland Raiders with Al Davis (played by Christian Bale under considerably less prosthetic work) to his second act as a broadcasting icon and the name behind one of the most influential football video games ever made. Kathryn Hahn co-stars as Madden’s beloved wife Virginia in a story about the coach, communicator, and larger-than-life personality who helped change how America watched, played, and understood the game.

Now he brings that same observational deadpan humor to his first feature documentary, which somehow aims to turn one of the world’s most boring-sounding materials into a funny, oddly personal look at art, ambition, and the business of making movies. Who knows, maybe there’s something more in concrete that we’re not seeing, but John Wilson seems more than willing to find out.

Director Darren Lynn Bousman, of Saw fame, brings his cult horror rock opera back in a new 4K UHD Steelbook, where surgery comes with a payment plan... and a missed bill comes with a blade. Originally released in 2008 and starring Alexa PenaVega, Anthony Head, the late Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman, and Paris Hilton, this little goth-rock ditty tells the story of a future where organ transplants save lives, payment plans rule the world, and missing a bill means the Repo Man comes to collect. All set to a blast of industrial rock and gothic theatrics, it’s a genre-bender if we ever saw one.

Long before Clive Barker became synonymous with puzzle boxes and Cenobites, the horror author tried his hand at mutant body-horror noir with this grimy 1985 chiller, now getting a new 4K restoration from Arrow Video. Set beneath the city of London, the George Pavlou-directed film follows a private investigator (Larry Lamb) hired to rescue a woman (Nicola Cowper) kidnapped by drug-addicted mutants, only to descend into a hidden world of experimentation and bodies pushed past the point of return. For those who love long-lost ’80s horror oddities, this one looks ready to crawl back out of the underground and into your Blu-Ray collection.
🎥 “Ju-On: The Grudge” 4K Restoration Trailer: Takashi Shimizu’s J-Horror Classic Brings Kayako and Her Deadly Curse Back in 4K — Coming Soon from Arrow Video
You can count Takashi Shimizu’s 2002 ghost-horror classic as one of the J-horror movies that really helped put the genre on the international map, turning Kayako (and that impossible-to-forget death rattle) into a horror icon. Now, more than two decades later, Arrow Video is giving the film a new 4K restoration, which feels like a pretty good excuse to step back inside that house. The story follows social worker Rika Nishina (Megumi Okina), who visits a quiet suburban home and quickly realizes something is very wrong. The house is carrying a deadly curse tied to the murdered Saeki family, and once Rika walks through the door, she becomes part of it. The curse spreads from one victim to the next, proving that leaving the house doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve escaped it. Just when you thought the curse had finally gone quiet... Kayako is back in 4K. Eeek!

Set in a secluded mountaintop village in China where men are forbidden, the film follows young Mu Yi as one curious decision opens the door to old legends, angry spirits, and a magical journey into her family’s hidden past. Sometimes, breaking the rules is the only way for a child to fully understand why they were made in the first place.
