Take a peek at some of the latest trailers for upcoming TV shows.
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season 3” Trailer: Captain Pike, Young Kirk, and the Enterprise Crew Face New Threats and Classic Vibes – Beams Down July 17th on Paramount+
Anson Mount returns as Captain Pike, joined by Ethan Peck’s ever-logical Spock, Rebecca Romijn’s steadfast Number One, and Paul Wesley as a young, still-learning James T. Kirk—who’s about to cross paths with his future engineering wingman, Scotty (played by Scottish actor Martin Quinn).
Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is just on the horizon, set to deliver ten brand-new episodes packed with thrilling space adventures—and perhaps a few playful nods to the groovy ‘60s camp of the original series. After all, Strange New Worlds charts the voyages of Captain Christopher Pike, set a decade before the Starship Enterprise is handed over to Captain Kirk—who, for now, is still climbing the ranks of Starfleet. And from the looks of it, Season 3 will see Kirk learning some hard-earned lessons from Pike, especially about what it really means to sit in the captain’s chair.
Since launching in May 2022, Strange New Worlds has become a favorite among Star Trek fans by returning to the core spirit of the original series: exploring new planets and alien cultures, all while navigating plenty of entanglements and edge-of-your-seat close calls.
Following the events of Season 2, where Captain Pike and the U.S.S. Enterprise wrapped up their pulse-pounding showdown with the Gorn, Season 3 sees the crew heading into uncharted territory once again. A mysterious new villain will challenge their beliefs, loyalty, and sense of duty. From genre-bending adventures that swing from high-stakes romance to laugh-out-loud drollery, it’s a season that proves exploring strange new worlds never goes out of style... even if some ‘60s-style space outfits do.
Also starring Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, and Jess Bush, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season 3 premieres Thursday, July 17th with two episodes, followed by new episodes weekly, exclusively on Paramount+.
“The Rainmaker” Trailer: John Grisham’s Classic Courtroom Novel Gets a TV Adaptation with Milo Callaghan as a Rookie Lawyer Taking on Corporate Corruption with Lana Parrilla and John Slattery – Premiering August 15th on USA Network
Francis Ford Coppola’s 1997 film The Rainmaker might just be one of the standout entries from the later stage of his illustrious directing career. We certainly count it among our favorite ’90s legal dramas, anchored by a quietly powerful performance from Matt Damon—one that may have been overshadowed by his breakout turn in Good Will Hunting, released that same year.
Based on the best-selling novel by legal thriller master John Grisham, The Rainmaker is now getting a fresh adaptation, and this time it’s for the small screen. And fittingly, it’s coming to USA Network, the same cable network that originally aired Suits—the surprise streaming hit that arguably helped reignite interest in the legal drama genre.
In this new series from showrunner Michael Seitzman (North Country) for Blumhouse Television, British actor Milo Callaghan (Dune: Prophecy, Rivals) takes on the role that Matt Damon played in the film: hotshot rookie attorney Rudy Baylor.
Fresh out of law school and hungry for justice, Memphis-born Rudy is let go from a prestigious law firm, forcing him to look elsewhere. Desperate and short on options, Rudy signs on with a small-time ambulance chaser nicknamed Bruiser (played by Once Upon a Time’s Lana Parrilla) and her ethically murky paralegal Deck Shifflet (P. J. Byrne, The Wolf of Wall Street).
Before long, Rudy finds himself at the center of a high-stakes wrongful death case—one that pits him against his former boss, courtroom shark Leo Drummond (John Slattery, Mad Men), and his law school ex, Sarah (Madison Iseman, Jumanji), as they defend a powerful, corrupt corporation. It’s your basic David vs. Goliath story, where Rudy is fighting against overwhelming odds, yet refuses to back down, even as the case threatens to crush him both professionally and personally.
Co-starring Robyn Cara, Gemma-Leah Devereux, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Dan Fogler, The Rainmaker is set to premiere Friday, August 15th on the USA Network.
“The Gilded Age: Season 3” Trailer: Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Christine Baranski, and Cynthia Nixon Return for More Power Plays, Social Scheming, and Arranged Marriages in HBO’s Hit Period Drama Series From Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes – Debuts June 22nd on HBO
They say we’re living in a second Gilded Age, where obscene wealth and inequality exist side by side. And those at the top seem untouchable, while those on the bottom are left to claw for scraps. That’s why Julian Fellowes’s HBO series The Gilded Age is starting to feel less like a period piece and more like a very timely mirror held up to today.
What began as America’s answer to Downton Abbey has sharpened into a timely commentary on wealth, power, and the eternal tug-of-war between old money and new. The series, which will soon be coming out with its third season this month, is set in an era where monopolies dominate headlines and billionaires steer policy. It’s 1880s New York. And perfectly coiffed hairdos and tightly laced corsets are just as sharp as the power plays happening in candlelit ballrooms.
Carrie Coon, fresh from her knockout performance in Season 3 of The White Lotus, returns as Bertha Russell, an ambition-driven lady whose steely railroad tycoon husband George (Morgan Spector) is making moves to claim a spot atop the social and political food chain. Bertha, however, has her own ways of climbing the ranks of New York’s high society... by using daughter Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) as a pawn. She is to be married to the most eligible (and strategically beneficial) bachelor the city can offer.
However, Gladys wants to marry for love. But love? Well, that’s for the poor. It’s nothing that a proper lady of status should concern herself with... at least, not in Bertha Russell’s gilded world where etiquette is armor and marriage is currency.
Also returning are Emmy-winners Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon, along with Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, and Phylicia Rashad.
Tune in to The Gilded Age: Season 3 starting on Sunday, June 22nd on HBO and HBO MAX.
“Mix Tape” International Trailer: Jim Sturgess and Teresa Palmer Reconnect Through Music and Memory in This British Romantic Mini-Series – Premieres June 12th on Binge in Australia
Before the era of streaming music and curated song playlists, people used to make their own mixtapes. What’s that, you ask? It was an audio cassette tape filled with songs of your own choosing and preferences. It could take hours to complete, as each track had to be manually recorded onto the tape. And if you were determined to get the order of songs just right, it could take days, if not weeks. And some would make mixtapes as a gift to someone they were fond of... like a keepsake or a music diary. Each song was a message, and together, they told a story.
Now let’s travel back in time, long before Spotify, even before the CD, when music was played on the radio, and falling in love meant sharing mixtapes made with care and the exact amount of intention.
Based on Jane Sanderson’s romantic, coming-of-age novel, Mix Tape is a nostalgic, heart-tugging British miniseries that hits all the right notes as it spins through time between 1989 Sheffield, England and the messy present.
Daniel (Jim Sturgess, from Across the Universe) and Alison (Teresa Palmer, from A Discovery of Witches) were once teenagers in love, swapping tapes and dreams. Now, they’re adults on opposite sides of the world... older, maybe wiser, and still haunted by that one song they never quite got to finish. When a long-forgotten track brings the past roaring back, Daniel and Alison find themselves on the same journey to figure out whether the life and love they missed was really meant to be... or just one of life’s greatest B-sides.
With Florence Hunt (Bridgerton) and newcomer Rory Walton-Smith stepping in as the teen versions of our star-crossed duo, and a supporting cast stacked with international talent, Mix Tape is equal parts throwback romance and emotional drama. It just might be perfect for anyone who’s ever made a mixtape for a loved one, and now wondered, what if?
Written by Jo Spain and directed by Lucy Gaffy, this six-part miniseries is set to stream Thursday, June 12th in Australia on the streaming platform Binge. However, for U.S. watchers... sorry, but stay tuned, and keep your Walkman ready for a U.S. release date, which as of yet has not been announced.
“Olympo” Trailer: Netflix’s New Spanish Series Dives Deep into Doping, Obsession, and Betrayal at an Elite Swim Academy, Starring Clara Galle and María Romanillos – Streaming June 20th
At this elite swim center, the competition isn’t just fierce... It’s suspiciously unnatural.
Olympo, Netflix’s sleek new Spanish-language sports drama series, paddles into murky waters as a group of top-tier young athletes chase Olympic glory. At the Pirineos Center of High Performance, Amaia (Clara Galle), captain of Spain’s national artistic swim team, lives by one rule: never slip up. But when her best friend Núria (María Romanillos) suddenly outshines her, Amaia starts to wonder if hard work is enough… or if some teammates are cutting corners in ways that defy explanation.
Part sports saga, part doping scandal, part psychological thriller, Olympo isn’t just about swimming for gold—it’s about lies, secrets, desires, and the price of perfection.
Created by Jan Matheu, Laia Foguet, and Ibai Abad, with a splashy ensemble cast that includes Agustín Della Corte (Society of the Snow) and Nuno Gallego (Elite), this series asks the ultimate question: when you've spent your whole life training for greatness, what are you willing to sacrifice to win?
Suit up for Olympo when it hits Netflix on Friday, June 20th.
