Chris Pratt proved he was a capable leading man in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, relying on his comedic timing and charismatic chops to turn Star-Lord into one of Marvel’s most popular heroes. But with his Amazon action series The Terminal List, which is coming back with its second season next month, Pratt isn’t leaning into his humor or goofball charm. Instead, he’s showing off his darker, more dramatic side. It’s a more somber and hardened Chris Pratt than we’re used to seeing.
Here, he plays James Reece, a former Navy SEAL who has been deployed on some of the most dangerous missions imaginable, forced to face a number of deadly threats on the battlefield. The first season saw Reece returning home as a battle-scarred veteran struggling with PTSD and looking for answers after his entire Navy SEAL platoon was killed during a mission. Unable to decipher what is real and what is part of his fractured state of mind, he seeks out answers, leading him on a collision course with the people responsible for destroying his team.
Still very haunted by those missions, Season 2 has Reece once again finding himself pulled back into action as he’s recruited for another dangerous and secret military operation. War is certainly hell, and he seems to have seen his fair share of it. But Reece might have just volunteered himself for another trip back to Hell. Because the Hell he knows might be easier than the Hell waiting for him back home.
Joining this new season are Gabriel Luna, Luke Hemsworth, and Tom Hopper, while Constance Wu returns as investigative reporter Katie Buranek, whose latest assignment once again becomes tied to Reece’s mission. Rounding out the cast are Arnold Vosloo, Yul Vazquez, Olga Kurylenko, and Martin Sensmeier. This new season is based on True Believer, Jack Carr’s second book in his Terminal List novel series.
The Terminal List: Season 2 is slated to premiere Wednesday, October 21st on Prime Video.

The thing about collateral damage is that it offers a convenient shield for those in power to justify the consequences of their decisions. That’s why it’s so important to set up clear red lines you refuse to cross, no matter what others might be willing to rationalize. If they’re not established, those goalposts can move in any direction the people in power want them to. And it gives them carte blanche to justify almost anything they choose to do.
And that seems to be at the very core of Season 4 of Netflix’s Emmy-winning political thriller series The Diplomat, which imagines the people at the very top of the U.S. government drawing up plans that could push the country into uncharted waters, where the only move is to betray the people’s trust.
Keri Russell returns once again as Ambassador Kate Wyler, who realizes that her boss, President Grace Penn (Emmy winner Allison Janney), might be willing to cross some very dangerous red lines to cover her own ass in a plot that could push the United States straight toward war. Civilian deaths be damned. Worse yet, Kate’s own husband, Vice President Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell), seems not only to be a willing co-conspirator but might also be encouraging the President to take things even further.
With the balance of power left unchecked, Kate has no other choice but to team up with the president’s husband, Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford), in an effort to stop their spouses and bring a sense of accountability back to the White House. Which seems to be something every administration could use a little more of.
Also returning are Ato Essandoh as Stuart Hayford, Ali Ahn as CIA agent Eidra Park, and Nana Mensah as former White House Chief of Staff Billie Appiah, along with Rory Kinnear as UK Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge, whose temperament is so easily triggered that diplomacy with him can sometimes feel like its own international crisis.
Created by showrunner Debora Cahn, The Diplomat: Season 4 aims to turn the U.S. presidency into its own political powder keg, where the biggest threat might be coming from inside the house... the White House, that is.
The series is set to return Thursday, October 15th on Netflix.

WAR is a new legal drama series starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller as a world-famous power couple whose sudden split causes the sharks to start circling.
West’s Morgan Henderson is a powerful mogul for whom money is no object, especially when it comes to getting exactly what he wants. Miller’s Carla Duval is a famous Hollywood actress whose fame has afforded her a life of influence and privilege. While there might be a financial imbalance between the two, that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s one in the court of public opinion.
Divorces, like it or not, are wars, even if those splitting up don’t recognize it yet. And if divorces are wars, then the lawyers are the weapons. And in some cases, they’re the generals calling all the shots as their clients sit idly by and watch their reputations get dragged through the mud.
Created and written by prolific British TV writer-producer George Kay (Lupin, Hijack, Criminal), the series goes behind the scenes of a high-profile divorce, where high-priced lawyers can be just as ruthless as the wealthy clients they represent. In this case, it’s two of London’s most prestigious rival law firms going head-to-head, with neither side willing to give an inch.
Also starring Nick Mohammed, Archie Renaux, Phoebe Fox, Celia Imrie, and Emma Laird, WAR has already been set up as an anthology series, with a greenlit second season in the works featuring an entirely new cast, slated for next year.
This first season, however, is set to debut Thursday, October 1st on HBO Max in the U.S. and on Sky in the UK.

With a snarky demonic boy named Abaddon (voiced by Jimmi Simpson) running around and keeping things interesting, Katherine and company will have to find a way to keep the Undervale open for business... and everyone inside alive. Also featuring the voices of Will Forte, Skyler Gisondo, and Natalie Palamides, the hospitality business has never looked so frighteningly dysfunctional.

Between demonic violence, relationship problems, and plenty of musical havoc, killing people for money might actually be the easiest part of their jobs. But nothing a little singing can’t help make more entertaining.

He’s joined by Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver, and together they set out to protect Boston from the riffraff and dangerous criminals roaming its streets. Usually, that means a lot of running, a lot of talking to witnesses, and a lot of breaking down doors to catch the bad guys. With Gloria Reuben and Ernie Hudson rounding out the cast, this is old-school network cop television through and through, where the officers work around the clock to keep the city safe and their families even closer.

In this new NCIS spinoff series, Special Agent Sam Hanna returns to his hometown, where he helps lead a new unit tasked with protecting one of the world’s busiest cities and ports. He is joined by roguish Special Agent Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan), whose less conventional approach to the job isn’t exactly Sam’s style. But something tells us this oil-and-water relationship will come together when the time comes. Jennifer Beals rounds out the ensemble as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, a hard-charging, no-nonsense leader who keeps the new team in line. So don’t call it a comeback, because LL Cool J has been here for years... and as long as the NCIS franchise keeps going, something tells us he’s not going anywhere.
