📺 “The Pitt: Season 3” Teaser: Noah Wyle’s Dr. Robby Returns From Sabbatical for Another Intense Shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center in HBO’s Emmy-Winning Medical Series with Sepideh Moafi, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, and More — Premiering January 2027 on HBO Max
Robby returns!
Last season of the Emmy Award-winning medical series The Pitt was building toward Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s much-needed three-month sabbatical: a cross-country bike ride that had many worried he might never return. After years of difficult cases and carrying the emotional weight of the ER, it wasn’t hard to wonder whether Robby might finally be done with his job at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
But if there’s no Robby, there’s no show, right? Some fans might disagree, but Noah Wyle is the heart and soul of The Pitt.
So, Season 3 brings us another intense day in the ER; a familiar rhythm for the HBO series, where life-or-death decisions are made in seconds, often with no time to second-guess them. It’s also another first day back on the job, this time with Robby returning from his sabbatical, echoing last season’s return of Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball) from rehab.
“Try not to kill anyone today,” Dr. Santos (Isa Briones) sarcastically tells Dr. Whitaker (Gerran Howell) in the first teaser trailer for Season 3. “Yeah, you too,” Whitaker quickly shoots back before the two bump fists and head out of the locker room to start their workday.
That little exchange is a good example of the gallows humor and close-knit camaraderie between the doctors and nurses who somehow keep each other going through some seriously intense shifts. And while Season 3’s plot is still mostly under wraps, viewers can expect more tough ER cases, difficult decisions, and plenty of friction (friendly or not) between staff members.
One relationship to keep an eye on is Robby’s workplace dynamic with Dr. Al-Hashimi (played by newly Emmy-nominated Sepideh Moafi), especially after where last season’s finale left things between them. Ooooh, fireworks are brewing.
Executive produced by showrunner R. Scott Gemmill, with Wyle also serving as a writer and producer, the series is coming off five Emmy Award wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor for Wyle, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa as Nurse Evans, and Outstanding Guest Actor for Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Abbot. The show also recently picked up a whopping 25 Emmy nominations for Season 2, including nods across all the major acting categories.
Okay, The Pitt might have a reputation for being your parents’ or co-worker’s favorite show, but we say: what’s wrong with that? And if you’re not already watching, why aren’t you? Season 3 isn’t just another long shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center; it’s also another chance for you to hop on board. It’s set to debut in January 2027 on HBO Max.
📺 “The Diplomat: Season 4” Teaser: Keri Russell Scrambles to Keep the Peace as Allison Janney and Rufus Sewell Push the U.S. Toward War in Netflix’s Award-Winning Political Thriller — Premiering Thursday, October 15th on Netflix
A diplomat’s job is to keep relations between their country and foreign governments running as smoothly as possible. That means a lot of state dinners, cocktail parties, and diplomatic conferences. Sounds boring, right? Well, you haven’t seen what Keri Russell’s Kate Wyler has had to deal with over the past three seasons of this award-winning Netflix series.
Aside from preventing a global crisis from getting worse, dealing with a U.S. president’s surprise deadly heart attack, and a vice president’s own illegal scheme, Kate’s diplomatic duties have been anything but routine. What’s even worse, her own estranged husband, former diplomat Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell), has only made matters more complicated, especially now that he’s the new vice president to a morally compromised U.S. president, Grace Penn (Allison Janney), and has become caught up in her dangerous political scheme to push the country toward war.
For political junkies out there who love watching smart people do terrible things to keep the scales of power balanced, this show is for you. For TV watchers who like to see an unbelievably complicated marriage where both partners teeter between codependency and chaotic self-destruction, this show is for you, too. And for those who just want to see Keri Russell do some of the best acting of her career as a woman trying to hold together international peace while her own marriage keeps sabotaging her efforts while also falling into some sort of emotional free fall, this show is for you as well.
Created and executive produced by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Homeland), the series co-stars Bradley Whitford as First Gentleman Todd Penn, along with Ato Essandoh as Deputy Chief Stuart Hayford, Ali Ahn as former CIA London Station Chief Eidra Park, Nana Mensah as former White House Chief of Staff Billie Appiah, and Rory Kinnear as hot-tempered U.K. Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge.
Season 4 of The Diplomat will have Kate facing her most dangerous political crisis yet, as Grace and Hal’s alliance in the White House forces her to present a united front with First Gentleman Todd Penn, even as both of their marriages threaten to muddle everything. Can they stonewall their respective spouses’ political operations before the U.S. government is pushed into a military conflict with Russia? Or do they play good little political spouses and fall in line?
The Diplomat: Season 4 is due to premiere Thursday, October 15 on Netflix.
📺 “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story” Trailer: Ella Beatty Takes on America’s Most Infamous Axe-Murder Mystery in Ryan Murphy’s True-Crime Anthology with Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, and Vicky Krieps — Premiering Thursday, September 17th on Netflix
We, meaning society at large, have always been fascinated by the darker side of human nature. It’s in our stories. It’s in our books, movies, and TV shows. True crime is a relatively new genre label thrown around to describe dark stories rooted in real crimes, real victims, and the people accused of committing them. But our fascination with true crime dates back long before the label itself.
And the shocking true story of Lizzie Borden has captivated our imagination for more than a century because it goes against everything we imagine a respectable 19th-century woman was supposed to be. Women of that era have often been portrayed as proper, restrained, and socially oppressed, but rarely as women suspected of such brutal violence.
Ryan Murphy, not necessarily a man known for bringing nuance to sensational true-crime stories, has now set his sights on Lizzie Borden for the next season of Netflix’s horror-tinged Monster anthology series. With previous seasons revolving around infamous figures like Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez brothers, and Ed Gein, Lizzie becomes the anthology’s first female subject.
Ella Beatty (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) stars as the infamous Lizzie Borden, with the new season revisiting the 1892 murders that turned her into one of America’s most enduring true-crime figures and folk legends, even inspiring that creepy nursery rhyme that has kept her name alive for generations.
Joining Beatty is returning Monster star Charlie Hunnam, fresh off his Emmy-nominated performance as Ed Gein last season, this time playing Lizzie’s father, Andrew Borden. They’re joined by Rebecca Hall as Lizzie’s stepmother, Abby Borden; Billie Lourd as her sister, Emma Borden; and Jessica Barden as stage actress Nance O’Neil, who was rumored to have had a romantic relationship with Lizzie later in life.
Ryan Murphy regular Sarah Paulson will also have a role this season, while returning Monster actress Vicky Krieps plays Lizzie’s Irish live-in maid, Bridget Sullivan, who appears to serve as something of the show’s sympathetic narrator.
Created and executive produced by Murphy and Ian Brennan, with Max Winkler directing the first episode, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is due to premiere Thursday, September 17th on Netflix.
📺 “The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” Trailer: Gail Bean and Isaiah John Return as Wanda and Leon as They Enter the ’90s West Coast Rap Game in FX’s “Snowfall” Spinoff — Premiering Tuesday, September 8th on FX and Hulu / Disney+
Snowfall was one of the last projects filmmaker John Singleton worked on before his untimely death in 2019. And in many ways, it felt like a return to the world of his earlier films, particularly Boyz n the Hood, bringing him back to the streets and neighborhoods of South Central Los Angeles.
Only this time, the story was set in the early 1980s during the rise of the crack cocaine epidemic. It followed the growing drug trade through South Central Los Angeles through the eyes of one clever teenager (played by Damson Idris), who would go on to become one of the biggest cocaine suppliers on the West Coast.
After running for six seasons, several of them produced after Singleton’s death, Snowfall became a ratings favorite and a major hit for FX. It also helped launch the career of Damson Idris, who became one of the show’s breakout stars. And while it never got much Emmy love, fans loved it. Really, who needs awards when you’ve got a loyal fanbase, right? Which is probably why the world of Snowfall is coming back next month with a spinoff series.
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga brings back Gail Bean and Isaiah John as Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons, picking up their story in 1990s Los Angeles as the fallout from the crack epidemic gives way to the rise of West Coast rap.
The couple, once deeply tied to the drug empire at the center of Snowfall, are now trying to build very different lives for themselves. This time, Wanda and Leon are taking some of the skills they learned in the drug game and applying them to a new hustle. Wanda starts building a crew of rap artists and music collaborators, while Leon tries to keep them from getting pulled back into the world they escaped.
Asante Blackk (When They See Us, This Is Us) takes on the role of Lamar Kinsey, a local South Central L.A. rap producer and DJ who just might have what it takes to make some real noise. He’s soon pulled into Wanda’s plans as she tries to turn that talent into something bigger.
’90s gangsta rap, West Coast culture, and the pressure of surviving the L.A. streets all feel like territory Snowfall was built to explore. We imagine fans are already marking their calendars.
Created and developed by Malcolm Spellman (Empire, Hip Hop Uncovered, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), with Snowfall executive producers Dave Andron and Thomas Schlamme also aboard, the FX series co-stars Peyton Alex Smith, Simmie “Buddy” Sims III, and Brandon Mychal Smith.
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga premieres Tuesday, September 8th on FX and Hulu / Disney+.
📺 “The Terminal List: Season 2” Teaser: Chris Pratt’s James Reece Returns for a Dangerous New Mission in Amazon’s Military Espionage Thriller with Constance Wu and Gabriel Luna — Premieres Wednesday, October 21st on Prime Video
Chris Pratt like you’ve never seen him before. He’s emotionally confused and perhaps psychologically damaged. A sad Pratt just might be a dangerous Pratt. You know that happy-go-lucky spirit that tends to shine through his performances? Well, it’s pretty much gone as Pratt returns as former Navy SEAL James Reece, a man being pulled even deeper into the dangerous world of covert warfare. Season 2 of the hit Amazon series has Reece moving beyond his personal war of revenge and into a much larger world of espionage, recruited for a mission tailor-made for his skills… but maybe not for his state of mind. Co-starring Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings and Constance Wu returning as journalist Katie Buranek, with Gabriel Luna, Dar Salim, Luke Hemsworth, Olga Kurylenko, and more joining the Season 2 ensemble, Pratt’s James Reece now finds himself in a much murkier world, where figuring out who to trust might be just as important as knowing when to pull the trigger.
📺 “Line of Fire” Trailer: Peter Krause and Hope Davis Lead a Family of Federal Agents Hunting a Rogue Assassin in NBC’s New Crime Drama from ‘Quantico’ Creator Josh Safran — Airing Monday, September 21st on NBC, Streaming Next Day on Peacock
Some folks have a family business to live up to. For the Hollingsworths, the family business could get them killed. In this new NBC crime drama from Quantico creator Josh Safran, nearly everyone in the Hollingsworth family carries a badge, just not for the same agency. Their careers stretch across the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, and Department of Justice, which makes things complicated when a murder case grows into a deadly conspiracy. Peter Krause stars as Secret Service supervisor Mike Hollingsworth, with Hope Davis as U.S. Marshal Jane Hollingsworth. Their children include a federal investigator (played by Kat Cunning), a DOJ analyst (Tommy O’Brien), and the president’s daughter’s personal security guard and secret lover (Taylor Bloom). When a rogue assassin is on the loose and killing government agents, all those separate badges and departments suddenly have to work together. But catching the person behind it means trusting one another, and that could be a problem if someone in the family is hiding something. Either way, family dinners are about to get even more uncomfortable.
📺 “A Different World” Trailer: Dwayne and Whitley’s Daughter Takes on Hillman College in Netflix’s Next-Generation Revival Starring Maleah Joi Moon Along with Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, and More — Debuts Thursday, September 24th on Netflix

Maleah Joi Moon leads the ensemble as Dwayne and Whitley’s free-spirited youngest daughter, Deborah Wayne, who arrives at Hillman determined to make a name for herself beyond her parents’ legacy. Alongside a new class of Hillman students, Deborah navigates friendship, romance, ambition, and the pressure of living up to a family name deeply rooted in the school’s history. Executive produced by Felicia Pride and Debbie Allen, who also directs episodes, the series also stars Alijah Kai Haggins, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall, Kennedi Reece, Chibuikem Uche, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, and Norman Nixon Jr. Just remember, at Hillman, education might come first, but figuring out who you are is still part of the curriculum.
📺 “Slow Horses: Season 6” Trailer: Gary Oldman’s Slough House Misfits Are on the Run in Apple’s Acclaimed British Spy Series with Jack Lowden and Kristin Scott Thomas — Premiering Wednesday, September 16th on Apple TV
In a world where TV shows can take years between seasons, and streaming originals regularly hit a low ceiling when it comes to longevity, along comes an Apple original series that somehow bucks both trends. Gary Oldman returns for (get this) Season 6 of the award-winning British spy series, once again leading Slough House’s wonderfully dysfunctional band of disgraced MI5 agents. A regular Emmy contender, Oldman gets another chance to sink his teeth into Jackson Lamb, the always disheveled, sharp-tongued spymaster who somehow manages to stay a few steps ahead of everyone else despite his uncouth appearance. This time around, Lamb and his misfit crew, including Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, and Christopher Chung, find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) pulls them into a dangerous game of retaliation and revenge. When England is in trouble, you don’t call James Bond... you call Slough House, the guys MI5 would rather forget but always seem to need when things go sideways.
📺 “The Creep Tapes: Season 3” Trailer: Mark Duplass’ Peachfuzz Returns for Six More Deeply Uncomfortable Tapes — Streams Tuesday, September 15th on Shudder and AMC+
Peachfuzz might be a weird-sounding name for a serial killer, but somehow Mark Duplass makes it work. After the cult success of the found-footage films, Peachfuzz is back for another season of the franchise’s small-screen incarnation. Duplass plays a seemingly socially awkward loner who places ads looking for videographers. The catch is that he’s secretly a serial killer, and the people who agree to film him soon realize they’ve signed up for much more than a simple camera job. Season 3 of the Shudder original series gives Peachfuzz a new roster of unsuspecting victims, including Rekha Shankar, Chris Gethard, Kate Siegel, Nic Hamilton, Elliott Fulham, Ora Duplass, and more. Six tapes in total, which means six more deeply uncomfortable encounters where picking up a camera is probably the first mistake.
📺 “Golden Axe” Trailer: SEGA’s Classic Fantasy Video Game Gets an Adult Animated Makeover with Liam McIntyre, Lisa Gilroy, Matthew Rhys, and Danny Pudi — Premieres Wednesday, September 16th on Paramount+
Based on SEGA’s iconic 1989 sword-and-sorcery fantasy beat-’em-up video game, where three warriors battle their way across Yuria to defeat the evil giant Death Adder, this animated comedy series takes a more playful approach to the original adventure. It turns its battle-tested heroes into one seriously dysfunctional questing party and adds an eager but painfully inexperienced adventurer to the mix. Featuring the voices of Liam McIntyre (Spartacus) as Ax Battler, Lisa Gilroy (Interior Chinatown) as Tyris Flare, Matthew Rhys (Widow’s Bay) as Gilius Thunderhead, and Danny Pudi (Community) as overeager newcomer Hampton Squib, this new adult animated comedy from Star Trek: Lower Decks creator Mike McMahan and American Dad! writer-producer Joe Chandler asks a pretty simple question: what happens when saving the world means surviving your own party first?
📺 “Best Medicine: Season 2” Trailer: Josh Charles’ Brilliant but Blood-Phobic Small-Town Doctor Returns for a New Season of FOX’s Comedy Series with Abigail Spencer and Annie Potts — Returning Tuesday, September 22nd on FOX, Streaming Next Day on Hulu / Disney+
He’s a brilliant doctor with one hell of a bedside manner. Dr. Martin Best (Josh Charles) traded his prestigious Boston surgical career for life as a general practitioner in a small East Coast fishing town where everyone knows your name... and maybe a few of your secrets. A big no-no for any doctor, especially a former surgeon, and if word gets out, there goes his medical license. Based on the British series and also starring Abigail Spencer, Annie Potts, Josh Segarra, and Cree, the new season finds Charles turning up both Martin’s awkward charm and cranky disposition as he tackles stranger cases, strained relationships, and a town increasingly curious about whether its brilliant but difficult doctor plans to stay or pack his bags for good.
📺 “NCIS: New York” Teaser: LL Cool J Brings Sam Hanna to the Big Apple Alongside Scott Caan and Jennifer Beals — Airing Tuesday, October 6th on CBS and Paramount+
If you’d told us one of the dopest rappers of the ’80s and ’90s would reinvent himself as a longtime TV actor in one of television’s longest-running franchises, we would’ve said, “Yeah, we know... Ice-T.” But LL Cool J would’ve been a pretty good answer, too. That’s right, the man who gave us “Mama Said Knock You Out” and “Going Back to Cali” is now headlining another NCIS spinoff, bringing his character Sam Hanna from Los Angeles to the streets of New York. LL Cool J (that’s James Todd Smith for those in the know) proves that natural charisma can take you a long way—from hip-hop stages to a decades-long run as one of TV’s most dependable action stars. Also starring Scott Caan and Jennifer Beals, and led by showrunner Byron Balasco, this new NCIS series takes the franchise to the Big Apple with a brand-new field office dealing with some very New York-sized problems.
