MobLand may have been built as a Tom Hardy vehicle, giving the actor plenty of room to unleash that familiar ferocious intensity inside a slick British gangster world. But the showâs real secret weapon might be Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, who seem to be having an absolute blast. Playing against type, Brosnan and Mirren are Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, a married pair of mob bosses with questionable judgment and matching violent streaks. And when they feel even slightly threatened, they donât exactly respond with restraint. In fact, their severe lack of self-control is why their entire empire is on the verge of collapsing to rubble.
Season 2 finds the Harrigans facing trouble from all sides as rising rivals begin circling their criminal dynasty, forcing Conrad and Maeve to put on a united front while tensions inside the family threaten to tear everything apart. Tom Hardyâs Harry Da Souza, a loyal foot soldier and fix-it man, is stuck in the middle, trying to keep the familyâs problems contained while cleaning up their perpetual messes, which tend to involve plenty of dead bodies and escalating internal power struggles.
Itâs nothing Harry hasnât seen before, but working for the Harrigans isnât a 9-to-5 job... itâs an all-consuming headache. And if his bosses keep making increasingly reckless decisions, heâll soon realize that keeping them out of danger might be an impossible task. The sharks are circling, alliances are fracturing, and war is knocking at the door. Though instead of tap, tap, tap... itâs more like rat-a-tat-tat!
Also returning to Season 2 are Paddy Considine as Conrad and Maeveâs level-headed son Kevin Harrigan, Joanne Froggatt as Harryâs long-suffering wife Jan Da Souza, Anson Boon as Conrad and Maeveâs psychopathic, good-for-nothing grandson Eddie Harrigan, Mandeep Dhillon as Conradâs illegitimate daughter Seraphina Harrigan, Janet McTeer as rival Kat McAllister, and Toby Jones as crooked detective Colin Tattersall.
Lara Pulver, Jasmine Jobson, and Teddie Allen are also returning, while Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond are joining the cast of this new season.
Created by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, Gunpowder, The Day of the Jackal), the series is executive produced by Bennett, Guy Ritchie, Tom Hardy, and others, with Ritchie also directing a number of episodes, including Season 2âs opener.
MobLand has been a critical and ratings hit for Paramount+, despite rumors of on-set arguments between Hardy and producers. Nevertheless, the series will come roaring back Friday, September 18th on the streaming platform.

Danish actress Maria Sten, who spent three seasons guest-starring on Reacher, returns as ex-military investigator Frances Neagley, now working as a private eye in Chicago. But when the suspicious death of a close friend sends her looking for answers in the Windy City, she uncovers a larger conspiracy someone is determined to keep buried forever.
And as Reacher fans know all too well, whenever someone is murdered and cops start looking the other way, it can only mean one thing: someone needs to rattle the cage to see what shakes loose. And if Reacher ainât there to do it, Neagley is more than ready to take on that fight herself.
Executive produced by co-showrunners Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, along with Reacher author Lee Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner, the series also stars Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman, with Alan Ritchson making a guest appearance as Jack Reacher.
Reacher may be dropping in for a visit, but make no mistake, Neagley is the one steering this ship. And from the looks of things, she suffers no fools, especially ones looking to test her patience. The new series is due to premiere Wednesday, September 16th on Prime Video.

Imagine if Ted Lasso and Mrs. Doubtfire had a baby. It would be Chad Powers. Now, that little metaphor works both as a literal mashup and a surprisingly accurate description of the showâs entire ridiculous premise.
Because, you see, it relies on the same kind of suspension of disbelief as Mrs. Doubtfire: somehow nobody recognizes the guy underneath all that prosthetic makeup, while still carrying the feel-good underdog DNA of Ted Lasso. Plus, in some weird metaphysical universe where Lasso and Doubtfire somehow managed to have a baby, you have to admit... it might look an awful lot like Chad Powers.
Glen Powell returns for Season 2 of his football comedy as disgraced quarterback Russ Holliday, whose fake alter ego has somehow gone from desperate second-chance disguise to bona fide college football superstar.
For those who havenât kept up with the show, the premise is rather simple: a fallen and disgraced football star tries to stage a comeback by disguising himself as the socially awkward but surprisingly gifted Chad Powers and earning a spot on the struggling South Georgia Catfish. Now, keeping up the lie while leading his team to the playoffs becomes harder as coaches and teammates begin to suspect thereâs more to their superstar quarterback than meets the eye.
Season 2 continues Chadâs struggles to keep his secret intact while the man behind the makeup, Russ Holliday (Powell), begins to favor his alter ego over the disgraced man he used to be. But something tells us the façade is all heading toward a breaking point, where this house of cards could come crashing down around both of them.
Created by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron (of Loki fame) and based on Eli Manningâs undercover prank segment from ESPNâs Eliâs Places (which, come to think of it, gives us yet another Ted Lasso connection), the series also sees the return of Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, and Frankie Rodriguez as Danny.
Chad Powers: Season 2 is slated to premiere September 3rd, with all six episodes dropping on Hulu / Disney+.
đș âAmerican Hostageâ Trailer: Jon Hamm Faces a Live-On-Air Hostage Crisis in This True-Crime Thriller Series with Giovanni Ribisi â Premieres Sunday, September 20th on MGM+
Filmmaker Gus Van Sant kicked off this year with Dead Manâs Wire, the stranger-than-fiction true story of a 1977 hostage situation that held a media storm in Indianapolis captive for more than three days. Didnât catch that one? Well, good news: the same bizarre story is getting another go-around, this time as an eight-part TV series starring Mad Menâs Jon Hamm. But instead of putting the hostage-taker at the center of the story, Hamm plays Fred Heckman, the real-life local radio reporter who suddenly found himself in the middle of an increasingly volatile three-day standoff.
In the upcoming limited series American Hostage, Giovanni Ribisi stars opposite Hamm as Tony Kiritsis, a frustrated homeowner who takes mortgage executive Dick Hall (played by Kristoffer Polaha) hostage with a shotgun rigged to a dead manâs switch, demanding to be interviewed live on Heckmanâs radio program. Tony wants to tell his side of the story: how a failed real-estate deal left him facing foreclosure and convinced that Hallâs mortgage company had deliberately sabotaged him. Soon, word gets out to the local news, and Tony is quickly hailed as both a folk hero and a dangerous vigilante by the media and the public.
Meanwhile, Heckman (Hamm) isnât just covering the story as an ordinary radio journalistâheâs becoming part of it. With police and hostage negotiators working around the clock to keep Kiritsis from escalating the situation any further, Heckman finds himself torn between reporting the truth and doing what feels morally right.
The bigger question? When does reporting on a story start to blur into total participation? And at what point does telling the truth start to change the story itself when the person telling it is directly involved? These seem to be the questions the series is most interested in exploring, which gives it a noticeably different angle from Gus Van Santâs film.
Created and co-showrun by Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Night Agent) and Eileen Myers (Big Love, Mad Dogs), the series also stars Mireille Enos, William Jackson Harper, Jonathan Tucker, and Kat Cunning, with Adam Arkin and Nina Lopez-Corrado directing and executive producing.
American Hostage will have a two-episode premiere on Sunday, September 20th on MGM+.

Created and written by Daniel West (Gunpowder, Top Boy) and directed by Richard Clark (Outlander, Doctor Who), the limited series turns Dickensâs familiar tale into an intimate story of how living through great times can often mean surviving the worst of them.

Just when you thought Ryan Murphy had run out of American true-crime folk-horror tales to revisit, here comes another swing of the axe, so to speak. Sure, youâve heard that famous twisted nursery rhyme before, and maybe even know the story behind the trial, but this time Lizzie Borden gets the full Ryan Murphy treatment as she becomes the latest subject of his and Ian Brennanâs Monster anthology. Starring Ella Beatty (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) as the notorious accused axe murderer, the series heads back to 1892 Fall River, Massachusetts, where the brutal deaths of Andrew and Abby Borden turned Lizzie into one of Americaâs most enduring true-crime legends. Charlie Hunnam, coming off an Emmy-nominated performance as serial killer Ed Gein, joins Rebecca Hall as Lizzieâs father and stepmother, while Billie Lourd, Vicky Krieps, Jessica Barden, and Sarah Paulson round out the cast. The rhyme may end with 41 whacks, but Murphy and Brennan seem far more interested in everything that made the story so infamous in the first place. And in their hands, you better believe Lizzie Bordenâs story is going to get... dare we say, pretty blunt.

Season 13 will draw on earlier seasons, including Murder House, Coven, Hotel, and Apocalypse, with returning performers and fan-favorite characters coming back as well. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Emma Roberts are among the familiar faces returning, with Ariana Grande joining the ensemble for this latest trip into the AHS universe. After twelve seasons of screams, it looks like the past is finally coming back to haunt everyone.
