📺 “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” Teaser Trailer: A Couple’s Wedding Week Descends into Pure Terror in This Duffer Brothers–Produced Horror Series Starring Camila Morrone & Adam DiMarco — Premiering Thurs, March 26th on Netflix
Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today. To get through this thing called… death?
Well, they do commonly say “til death do us part” when a couple decides to finally tie the knot. But the bride and groom likely never once imagined death would come calling on their wedding day.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is an aptly titled new atmospheric horror series from the executive producers of Stranger Things, directed in part by Emmy nominee Weronika Tofilska of Baby Reindeer fame. Set over the course of one very cursed week, the show follows bride Rachel (Camila Morrone, of Daisy Jones & the Six and The Night Manager: Season 2) and groom Nicky (Adam DiMarco, from The White Lotus: Season 2) in the lead-up to their ill-fated nuptials.
As Rachel and Nicky prepare to say their “I dos,” with family flying in to celebrate their public union, something ominous gathers just out of view. What begins as pre-nuptial jitters slowly mutates into mounting paranoia and suffocating dread. Tensions escalate. Glances linger a beat too long. And the celebration starts to feel less like a wedding and more like a curse... perhaps because it is. Well, ain’t love grand.
Created by Haley Z. Boston, best known for writing on Netflix’s Brand New Cherry Flavor and Amazon’s Hunters, as well as co-writing the standalone episode “The Outside” from Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, the series has been described as a cross between Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby. And that comparison alone should tell you this isn’t about jump scares but slow-burn psychological menace.
The supporting cast is stacked, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, Gus Birney, Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Sawyer Fraser, and Zlatko Burić all round out the wedding party from hell.
Behind the scenes, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (aka the Duffer Brothers of Stranger Things fame) serve as executive producers alongside Hilary Leavitt and Andrea Sperling (Transparent, A Murder at the End of the World). Tofilska directs four episodes and also executive produces, while Axelle Carolyn (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and Lisa Brühlmann (Killing Eve, Servant) each helm additional installments.
So consider yourself cordially invited to a wedding where the only thing guaranteed is that someone won’t be making it to the honeymoon. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen debuts Thursday, March 26th on Netflix.
📺 “Scrubs Revival” Trailer: Zach Braff and Donald Faison Scrub Back In as Attendings in This Long-Awaited Medical Comedy Revival — Premiering Wed, February 25th on ABC and on Hulu
Would you believe it’s been nearly fifteen years since we last saw Scrubs alums Zach Braff and Donald Faison get all chummy-chummy as the inseparable duo of J.D. and Turk? Well, time flies in TV land, especially when it seems that Braff and Faison have never really left each other’s side since the show wrapped. But after a series of popular T-Mobile commercials, podcast shows, fan-related appearances, and reunion rumors that seem to resurface every other year, it’s finally happening. The boys are scrubbing back in. And just like that, it’s like time never passed at all. It’s like we’re about to wander those Sacred Heart hallways again, half-expecting a cutaway fantasy and a perfectly timed high-five waiting around the corner.
The beloved medical satire returns with a half-hour comedy revival that reunites Braff as John “J.D.” Dorian and Faison as Christopher Turk, alongside Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid. Only this time, they’re not the interns nervously chasing approval. They’re the attendings. The ones signing off on charts. The ones giving orders. Which, frankly, feels earned... and just a little dangerous for whatever poor med students land under their supervision.
But if a fresh-faced trainee needs to learn the ropes around Sacred Heart Hospital, we can’t think of a better trio than J.D., Turk, and Elliot. Scratch that! We can probably think of more responsible trios. Just not ones that would make us laugh this hard while accidentally teaching a life lesson between high-fives, chest bumps, and wildly inappropriate shenanigans.
Among those also returning are fan favorites John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes back as Dr. Perry Cox and head nurse Carla Espinosa, respectively, ensuring that tough love and razor-sharp sarcasm remain hospital policy. New cast additions include Vanessa Bayer and Joel Kim Booster, joined by a roster of fresh-faced talents as the new class of medical interns.
Series creator Bill Lawrence, the comedic mind behind the hit comedies Ted Lasso and Shrinking, returns as executive producer alongside Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Aseem Batra (who also serves as showrunner), and Randall Winston. Braff steps behind the camera to direct the pilot, because apparently acting, narrating, and mentoring aren’t enough.
Sure, technology has changed. Medicine has evolved. Interns definitely have different vibes now. But what hasn’t? The J.D.–Turk bromance in full, unapologetic swing.
Scrubs premieres Wednesday, February 25th on ABC and streams on Hulu.
📺 “One Piece: Season 2” Trailer: Iñaki Godoy’s Luffy Chases Pirate Glory as Baroque Works Raises the Stakes in This Hit Adventure Series — Debuting Tues, March 10th on Netflix
Lightning struck once. Now Netflix is betting it can strike twice.
Back in 2023, One Piece did the unthinkable. A live-action adaptation of One Piece didn’t just survive fan scrutiny... it thrived. Eight weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10. Number one in over 75 countries. Nearly 100 million views. It even made history as the first English-language Netflix series to debut at #1 in Japan. Not bad for a rubber-limbed pirate with a straw hat and a dream.
Season 2 sails straight into deeper waters. And now, with even more eyeballs locked in, this isn’t just a surprise hit anymore. It’s one of Netflix’s crown jewels. In a strange twist of pop-culture fate, it might even be single-handedly keeping the pirate genre afloat.
But let’s be clear: this is not your typical pirate adventure. This isn’t brooding swagger in the mold of Captain Jack Sparrow, nor is it the swashbuckling fairy-tale romance of Dread Pirate Roberts. This is something far quirkier. Far warmer. Far more earnest.
It’s a band of wide-eyed misfits chasing glory, bounty, and a mythical treasure across the Grand Line. But more than that, it’s about the bond they’ve formed. And in an era where most franchise storytelling leans darker, grittier, and more self-serious, there’s something refreshing about a series that wears its heart so openly on its sleeve.
Season 2 finds Luffy and the Straw Hats officially entering the Grand Line; that treacherous stretch of sea where pirate legends are forged and survival is never guaranteed. The mission remains the same: find the mythical treasure and crown Luffy King of the Pirates. But the road ahead? Messier. Deadlier. And much weirder.
Iñaki Godoy returns as the endlessly optimistic Monkey D. Luffy, alongside Emily Rudd’s sharp-witted Nami, Mackenyu’s steel-eyed Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson’s earnest Usopp, and Taz Skylar’s smooth-talking Sanji.
And the world expands in a big way. Baroque Works enters the game with David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Joe Manganiello as the shadowy Mr. 0, and a lineup of assassins played by Lera Abova, Charithra Chandran, Camrus Johnson, Sophia Anne Caruso, Jazzara Jaslyn, Daniel Lasker, and Yonda Thomas. Translation: the stakes just leveled up.
Manga and franchise creator Eiichiro Oda remains closely involved as executive producer, working with Matt Owens and Steven Maeda to keep the spirit intact as the series adapts fan-favorite story arcs ripped straight from the comic pages.
One Piece: Season 2 premieres Tuesday, March 10th on Netflix.
📺 “RJ Decker” First Look Preview: Scott Speedman Stars as a Washed-up Ex-Con Turned Private Eye in This Sun-Soaked Florida Crime Series — Premiering Tues, March 3rd on ABC and on Hulu
There’s something about private eye stories that feels timeless. Perhaps it’s because they’re almost always depicted as washed-up figures who skirt the law but cling to a stubborn moral code. And no matter how many times they’re thrown to the ground, they never stay there. They get up, dust themselves off, and choose to do the right thing anyway... even when the world has given them every reason not to. That’s the hook. That’s the appeal. That’s why these types of shows always feel right, no matter the time period or setting.
So with that being said, welcome to the world of RJ Decker, a new ABC detective series set in South Florida, where the sun-soaked beaches become the picture-perfect backdrop for a modern-day hard-boiled gumshoe tale, where the humidity hangs thick in the air and the secrets run even thicker.
Written and executive produced by Rob Doherty (creator of Elementary) and inspired by Carl Hiaasen’s novel Double Whammy, Scott Speedman, of Grey’s Anatomy and Felicity fame, takes on the title role as a disgraced newspaper photographer turned ex-con trying to rebuild his life as a private investigator. It’s not exactly a clean slate. More like a slightly smudged one.
Have yourself a special first look preview for this upcoming offbeat, pulpy crime romp where Decker’s cases range from quirky to flat-out bizarre... because this is Florida, after all. And in Florida, the line between headline and punchline is razor thin.
Joining Speedman in the cast are Jaina Lee Ortiz as Emilia “Emi” Ochoa, Bevin Bru as Detective Melody “Mel” Abreu, Kevin Rankin as Aloysius “Wish” Aiken, and Adelaide Clemens as Catherine Delacroix.
Filmmaker Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Gangster No. 1) directs and executive produces, while Doherty serves as showrunner, executive producing alongside author Carl Hiaasen, Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, and Speedman himself.
Catch the premiere Tuesday, March 3rd on ABC, or stream it the next day on Hulu.
