🎥 “The Invite” New Trailer: Olivia Wilde & Seth Rogen Get More Than They Bargained for at One Very Awkward Dinner Party with Edward Norton & Penélope Cruz — In Select Theaters June 26th, Expanding Nationwide July 10th
A nice dinner with friends sounds harmless enough. Good food, easy conversation, maybe just enough wine to make the night feel a little less routine. But every so often, someone brings more than dessert to the table.
That’s the intriguing setup behind The Invite, a new A24 dramedy where a simple evening between two couples takes a sharp turn after one very unexpected proposal.
Olivia Wilde and Seth Rogen star as a long-married San Francisco couple whose quiet night with their upstairs neighbors, played by Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz, slowly shifts from polite small talk into something much more uncomfortable.
The premise sounds simple. But simplicity is usually where these relationship comedies start getting a little dicey. When Norton and Cruz’s characters invite Wilde and Rogen’s buttoned-up couple into a night of unexpected intimacy, everyone tries to stay charming. The conversation flows... slowly. Then the two couples begin contemplating the eyebrow-raising invitation of a foursome, dragging everyone’s boundaries, insecurities, and private frustrations straight into the open.
Based on Cesc Gay’s 2020 Spanish comedy Sentimental, also known as The People Upstairs, this American remake comes from a script by actress Rashida Jones and actor Will McCormack, the same writing team behind the 2012 rom-com Celeste and Jesse Forever. Wilde also steps behind the camera, directing for the third time following the twisty thriller Don’t Worry Darling and the raunchy teen comedy Booksmart.
With Rogen and Wilde as the hosts and Norton and Cruz as the upstairs neighbors who know exactly how to disrupt the evening, this looks like the kind of dinner-party movie where the real action happens between the pauses and glances, as the night becomes increasingly awkward and, hopefully for the audience, hilariously entertaining.
Following a strong Sundance debut that sparked a bidding war eventually won by A24, The Invite is now slated to open in select theaters June 26th before expanding nationwide July 10th. Watch it with a friend or two... or three.
🎥 “Ice Age: Boiling Point” Teaser: Manny, Sid, Diego, Scrat, and the Rest of the Herd Head Into Hotter, Stranger Territory as the Beloved Animated Franchise Heats Up — Coming to Theaters February 5, 2027
The ice age didn’t last forever... the real one, not the animated franchise. In fact, despite the last installment arriving nearly ten years ago, another Ice Age movie is officially heading our way, proving once again that some franchises are simply too stubborn to go extinct.
But this time, things aren’t getting colder. They’re getting much, much hotter. Boiling, even.
Ice Age: Boiling Point brings Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Buck, Scrat, and the rest of the herd back for a new prehistoric adventure that sends them far from their usual frozen comfort zone and straight into the dangerous Lost World. So yes, the gang that was built for snow, ice, and subzero chaos now has to deal with dinosaurs, lava, volcanoes, and what sounds like the worst possible vacation package in prehistoric history.
Ray Romano returns as Manny, with John Leguizamo back as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, Queen Latifah as Ellie, and Simon Pegg as Buck. And, of course, Scrat is expected to continue his eternal war with that cursed acorn, because apparently even volcanic danger can’t stop one squirrel from his life’s true calling.
Full plot details are still under wraps, but the teaser makes the direction pretty clear: the herd is heading into hotter, stranger, and more dangerous territory than usual. Full steam ahead!
Ice Age: Boiling Point arrives only in theaters February 5, 2027.
🎥 “By Any Means” Trailer: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II & Mark Wahlberg Fight Racist Violence with Mob Muscle in This 1960s Civil Rights FBI Thriller — Hitting Theaters September 4th
Some people will tell you the best response to ugliness is to rise above it. When they go low, you go high. But at times of great adversity and social disorder, sometimes fighting fire with fire is the only path forward.
In the upcoming historical drama-thriller By Any Means, the FBI comes up with an unconventional plan to push back against the disgusting racist violence gripping 1960s Mississippi: they decide to bring the mob in for a little muscle... and a whole lot of fire to match the hate.
Inspired by true events, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, of Wonder Man and Watchmen fame, stars as Wayne Strider, a young Black FBI agent sent to 1960s Mississippi to investigate a wave of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders. But when the Bureau fails to pursue justice inside a system compromised by racism and fear, the agency turns to a highly unorthodox solution: bringing in notorious mafia hitman Gregory Scarpa to help Strider push back against white supremacist violence with methods far outside the normal rulebook.
Mark Wahlberg, oddly donning a large prosthetic nose but still packing plenty of muscle, takes on the role of Scarpa, the infamous New York mob enforcer of the Colombo crime family, famously nicknamed the Grim Reaper and the Mad Hatter. His style of business? Extremely deadly. His method of interrogation? Even deadlier.
Which makes him the most unlikely FBI collaborator the Bureau has ever seen, and for Abdul-Mateen’s Agent Strider, a wild card who might be just as dangerous as the men they’re hunting.
Strider and Scarpa are divided by race, background, ideology, and probably every personal code imaginable. But in this story, they find themselves moving toward the same target: the men responsible for terrorizing Black communities and civil rights leaders in the American South, including Vernon Dahmer, the civil rights leader and voting-rights activist played by Giancarlo Esposito.
The supporting cast includes Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, and Esposito, giving the film a strong ensemble around its central pairing of Abdul-Mateen and Wahlberg as two men who might not see eye to eye but understand that the usual rules are not enough.
Elegance Bratton, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the semi-biographical Marine boot camp drama The Inspection, has been tasked with helming this searing historical thriller, which seems reminiscent of films like Mississippi Burning and, oddly enough, maybe not intentionally, Green Book.
Written by Sascha Penn, By Any Means is due to open in theaters September 4th.
🎥 “Ice Cream Man” New Red Band Trailer: Eli Roth Turns a Childhood Treat Into a Suburban Horror Show Where the Neighborhood Ice Cream Man Serves Up Something Sinister — Coming to Theaters August 7th
Leave it to Eli Roth to take something as sweet and innocent as the neighborhood ice cream man and turn it into a blood-splattered reason to never chase down a truck again. The old phrase goes, “You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream.” But in Roth’s hands, that last part sounds less like a jingle and more like a warning.
Written, directed, and co-produced by Roth, Ice Cream Man is set in an idyllic summer town where things begin to fall apart after a mysterious ice cream vendor starts serving treats with deeply disturbing consequences. What begins as a sunny slice of small-town nostalgia quickly devolves into something deeply sinister, as children line up for something sweet and end up getting more than anyone bargained for.
Ari Millen, best known for Orphan Black, stars as the unsettling Ice Cream Man, stepping into what looks like a new horror-villain role built around one of the most familiar figures in childhood suburbia. Because apparently, it wasn’t enough for horror to make us afraid of clowns, dolls, babysitters, camp counselors, and nice-looking houses. Now even the guy with the soft serve is suspicious.
Millen is joined by Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, Charlie Storey, and Roth himself.
For Roth, this sounds like a return to the kind of visceral horror that helped define his early work with Hostel and Cabin Fever: simple setup, nasty escalation, and a familiar piece of everyday life twisted into something deeply unpleasant. And in this case, the Ice Cream Man isn’t serving ice-cold treats. He’s serving nightmares by the scoop.
Ice Cream Man arrives in theaters August 7th.
“Supergirl” Final Trailer and Film Clips: Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El Tears Across the Galaxy to Save Krypto in DC’s New Cosmic Superhero Movie with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, Jason Momoa & David Corenswet — Landing In Theaters June 26th
Here’s the real difference between Superman and Supergirl, other than the obvious: he’s the hopeful optimist, and she’s the hardened realist. They may be cousins with similar powers, but as heroes, they’re worlds apart. And honestly, Kara Zor-El doesn’t seem all that interested in living in Superman’s shadow.
So when Krypto, the only thing she truly cares about, is suddenly hurt, Kara does everything in her power to save his life. Because realist that she is, she knows hope alone won’t be enough to save her dog. Which, funnily enough, just might make DC’s Supergirl not only one of the most anticipated superhero movies of the summer, but also its most unexpected movie for dog lovers.
Milly Alcock takes on the lead role of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. When her loyal companion Krypto — her last living connection to Krypton, the home she lost when everyone she loved was wiped away in an instant — is injured and poisoned, she tears across the galaxy to find the one person who can save him.
Here’s the thing: Kara isn’t exactly the bright, polished version of Supergirl some viewers may expect. She’s bitter, bruised, frequently hungover, and carrying enough grief to power a whole galaxy. So when the ruthless space pirate Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, shoots Krypto with a poisonous projectile and leaves him near death, Kara gets a very simple mission: find Krem, get the antidote, and make him regret every life choice that led him there.
Along for the ride is Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young alien orphan chasing her own revenge against Krem. Meanwhile, Jason Momoa enters the mix as Lobo, the cigar-chomping bounty hunter who looks ready to bring his own brand of trouble. And keep an eye out for David Corenswet, who reprises his role as Superman in a guest appearance.
Based on the acclaimed comic book miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, this new DC film follows the events of James Gunn’s 2025 Superman and aims to prove once again that the cousin of Kal-El was never meant to be a carbon copy. She’s a hero forged from a very different kind of pain.
Plus… hands off Krypto. That’s the rule.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl soars into theaters June 26th.

Directed by Marty Schousboe, of the Adult Swim series Joe Pera Talks with You, this comedy leans into deadpan absurdity while poking at nostalgia culture and the uncomfortable truth that growing older doesn’t always mean growing up.
