🎥 “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” New Trailer: The Four Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, & Dave Franco) Join Forces with a Younger Generation of Magicians (Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt & Justice Smith) in New Diamond Heist Sequel — In Theaters November 14th
It’s a generational battle between underground magicians! And this time, it’s about more than who can pull the best card trick—it’s about imagination, swagger, and pulling off the ultimate heist.
For the Four Horsemen—Jesse Eisenberg’s cocky trickster Danny Atlas, Woody Harrelson’s sly mentalist Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco’s smirking pickpocket Jack Wilder, and Isla Fisher, back as escape artist Henley Reeves—the act was over years ago. But they never expected a new, younger crew of flashier illusionists to hijack their name and ride the clout. Enter Bosco (Dominic Sessa), June (Ariana Greenblatt), and Charlie (Justice Smith), who’ve been keeping the brand alive in all the wrong ways.
When Danny resurfaces with a plan to steal one of the world’s most valuable diamonds, he realizes he’ll need both the old guard and these upstarts to pull it off. Their mark? The Vanderbergs, a ruthless dynasty laundering blood money through arms deals, led by Rosamund Pike’s icy heiress Veronika.
But the Four Horsemen aren’t so easily replaced. One by one, Merritt, Jack, and Henley materialize, with Morgan Freeman’s Thaddeus Bradley back in the mix. Suddenly, it’s not four Horsemen anymore—it’s eight. The only question: can this intergenerational troupe put aside their differences long enough to out-con the biggest criminal empire they’ve ever faced? Or will their egos implode before the curtain even rises?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Uncharted), who knows a thing or two about wrangling Eisenberg and Harrelson after two Zombieland films into chaotic spectacle, the film promises slick action, explosive set pieces, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek comedy. And yes, plenty of magic!
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t opens in theaters November 14th.
🎥 “Anemone” New Trailer: Daniel Day-Lewis Breaks His Seven-Year Acting Hiatus in Ronan Day-Lewis’ Haunting Directorial Debut — In Theaters October 3rd
After seven years away from the screen, three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis returns under the direction of his son Ronan Day-Lewis in a film steeped in symbolism, memory, and regret. So, in other words, Daniel Day-Lewis will likely deliver yet another striking performance—one infused with intensity, precision, and emotional depth, but also marked by the internal fragility of a man lost to his own memories and haunted by the weight of his past. So, yes! He might be looking at his fourth attempt at Oscar gold— ‘cause everyone loves when a legend steps out of semi-retirement one more time to prove he’s still got the kind of screen presence that can silence a room with a single glance.
In Anemone, Daniel Day-Lewis stars as Ray Stoker, a former member of a covert British “phantom soldiers” unit who has spent two decades in self-imposed exile deep in the woods. His fragile solitude shatters when his estranged brother, played by Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings actor Sean Bean, arrives with a mysterious request that drags Ray back into the shadows of his past during the Irish Troubles. With white anemone flowers dotting the landscape and surreal images of giant fishes drifting through rivers, the film leans heavily on metaphors of loss, sacrifice, and the inevitability of reckoning.
Co-written by Daniel himself with his son Ronan Day-Lewis, who makes his feature debut, Anemone transforms into a family collaboration both behind and in front of the camera. Also starring Samantha Morton, the drama promises a lyrical meditation on isolation, fractured bloodlines, and the ghosts we try to outrun.
Anemone is set to make its world premiere next week at the New York Film Festival, followed by a limited theatrical release on October 3rd before expanding nationwide on October 10th. Come for the new searing performance from Daniel Day-Lewis, but stay for the haunting poetry of a film that drifts between memory and regret.
🎥 “Deathgasm II: Goremageddon” Trailer: Milo Cawthorne’s Brodie Raises His Dead Bandmates in Jason Howden’s Gore-Soaked Sequel to the Cult Kiwi Horror Comedy — Coming Soon
Ten years ago, a scrappy little horror comedy from New Zealand came out of nowhere and burst onto the scene, proving Kiwis have a unique brand of darkly comic, twisted splatter fest that’s all their own. Deathgasm was a riotous horror romp about a metalhead teen and his ragtag metal band of losers who accidentally ripped open the gates of hell by playing a cursed song unearthed from an ancient piece of sheet music hidden in a local record store. What followed was their sleepy New Zealand town descending into a grindhouse nightmare—full of demons, chainsaws, axes, and guitar riffs—as they fought back the apocalypse with the only weapon they had: heavy metal music!
Now, we’re getting a sequel to this cult 2015 film, promising even more headbanging mayhem, over-the-top gore, and splatter-filled pandemonium—with speakers amped up to eleven!
It’s the present day, and Brodie (played by a returning Milo Cawthorne) is grappling with the fact that his glory-heavy metal days are long gone. He’s now broke, facing eviction, and still haunted by the ghosts of his fallen bandmates.
So what’s a washed-up metalhead to do? Naturally, resurrect the dead! Brodie decides the best way to get his life back on track is to bring the band together again—literally—by raising his old friends from the grave to enter another battle-of-the-bands competition. The only problem? They come back as zombies. And where zombies go, apocalyptic carnage soon follows.
Deathgasm II: Goremageddon is the kind of sequel that leans into the absurdity of its own premise. Once again written and directed by Jason Howden, the New Zealand filmmaker who first unleashed Deathgasm on unsuspecting audiences in 2015 before going on to direct the gonzo action flick Guns Akimbo, this follow-up looks every bit as gleefully grotesque and hilariously unhinged as fans could hope.
Cawthorne leads the returning cast, joined once again by Daniel Cresswell as Giles, Kimberley Crossman as Medina, James Blake as Zakk, and Sam Berkley as Dion. And from the looks of it, the gang isn’t just back—they’re bloodier, grosser, and funnier than ever.
Premiering this weekend at Austin’s Fantastic Fest and set for its Australian premiere at Monster Fest in October, Deathgasm II: Goremageddon aims to be the ultimate encore: a splatter-soaked love letter to heavy metal, bad decisions, and the kind of midnight-movie chaos that earns cult status the moment the guitar amps switch on. There’s no official release date, as of yet.
🎥 “Queens of the Dead” Trailer: Filmmaker Tina Romero Mashes Zombies, Drag Queens, and Camp in Her Feature Debut with Katy O’Brian, Riki Lindhome, and Margaret Cho — In Theaters October 24th
Back in 1968, horror filmmaker George A. Romero changed the cinematic landscape with his now-classic zombie film Night of the Living Dead. The groundbreaking film not only redefined what horror could be, but also introduced a new kind of monster to the genre—one that feasts on flesh, mirrors societal fears, and refuses to stay buried. And five decades later, the zombie genre is bigger than ever, shambling its way through blockbuster films, prestige TV series, video games, and even comedy send-ups—proof that Romero’s undead legacy is still very much alive.
Speaking of which, Romero’s own daughter, Tina Romero, is giving the zombie genre her own spin with her feature film debut. And from the looks of things, she’s channeling both her father’s horror legacy and her own flair for camp, drag, and queerness. It’s certainly a zombie outbreak unlike anything we’ve seen before. They may want to eat your flesh, but they’ll slay while doing it.
Queens of the Dead, Tina Romero’s debut feature, asks the question: What happens when the undead crash the party? Well, in Brooklyn, that means the drag queens, club kids, and frenemies holding court on the dance floor have to trade sequins for survival tactics... and they’re not about to go quietly.
Set on the night of a massive warehouse bash, the upcoming horror comedy follows an eclectic crew of drag performers and rivals who suddenly find themselves fighting for their lives when a zombie outbreak floods the borough. Between the glitter, the grudges, and the gory set pieces, survival comes down to one thing: staying alive and looking fierce while doing it.
Directed by Tina Romero (daughter of horror legend George A. Romero, the man who practically invented the modern zombie genre with his Night of the Living Dead film series), Queens of the Dead features an eclectic cast, including Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Riki Lindhome (Wednesday), Shaunette Renée Wilson (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Jaquel Spivey, comedian Margaret Cho, Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), Eve Lindley (National Anthem), Karan Brar (Pacific Rim Uprising), and Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow), all diving headfirst into a midnight mash of horror, comedy, and drag queens.
Queens of the Dead hits theaters October 24th.
🎥 “The Lost Bus” New Trailer: Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera Face California’s Deadliest Wildfire in Paul Greengrass’ Survival Thriller — In Select Theaters Now and Set to Stream on Apple TV+ October 3rd
The first rule of dealing with a wildfire: stay as far away as you can. Fire doesn’t wait for anyone—it spreads fast, burns hot, and consumes everything in its path without mercy. But if you need to head into the fire, you better have a reason worth risking everything—because once you’re in, every second is a battle against smoke, heat, and the clock.
In the new ticking-clock thriller The Lost Bus, Matthew McConaughey finds himself staring down one of California’s deadliest wildfires from behind the wheel of a yellow school bus, 22 kids in tow, as the 2018 Camp Fire (aka the Paradise fire) transforms an ordinary day into a hellish fight for survival.
Based on true events, the film follows Kevin McKay (McConaughey), a real-life bus driver-turned-local hero who answers the unthinkable call: to drive into the heart of an inferno and guide his child passengers through walls of smoke and flame. Alongside him is a steadfast schoolteacher, played by America Ferrera, whose resolve proves just as essential as the bus’s engine.
Directed by Paul Greengrass, the master of real-time tension behind United 93 and Captain Phillips, The Lost Bus promises the same edge-of-your-seat immediacy. Brad Ingelsby, creator of the acclaimed HBO miniseries Mare of Easttown and the current HBO series Task, pens the screenplay, adapting Lizzie Johnson’s acclaimed book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.
The Lost Bus opens in select theaters this weekend before streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ Friday, October 3rd.
🎥 “Swimming Home” Trailer: Christopher Abbott, Mackenzie Davis, and Ariane Labed Entangled in Sun-Drenched Surrealism in Justin Anderson’s Psychological Thriller — On VOD/Digital September 26th
Desire, dread, and the uncanny collide in Swimming Home, a new Lynchian psychological thriller adapted from Deborah Levy’s 2011 cult novel that tells a surreal tale of love, betrayal, and the traumas that refuse to stay buried.
Starring Christopher Abbott (Poor Things), Mackenzie Davis (Station Eleven), and Ariane Labed (Attenberg), the provocative, dream-like thriller marks the feature debut of acclaimed music video and commercial director Justin Anderson, who appears to be harking back to the early films of Yorgos Lanthimos with a twist of Roman Polanski’s psychological thrillers.
In Swimming Home, Joe (Abbott) and Isabel (Davis) are a couple whose marriage is quietly rotting under the sun at their holiday villa. But when a stranger named Kitti (Labed) is discovered floating provocatively in their pool, Isabel invites her in—unsettling their fragile equilibrium and setting off a chain reaction of longing, betrayal, and buried trauma. What begins as an uneasy act of hospitality quickly morphs into something stranger, darker, and laced with biting humor.
Blurring the line between comedy and nightmare with surreal imagery and unsettling tones, Swimming Home promises a disquieting plunge into the shadows we try to ignore—and what happens when they finally rise to the surface.
Swimming Home will be available on VOD/Digital September 26th.
