🎥 Here’s a list of films coming to screens soon!
🎥 “Desert Warrior” Trailer: Anthony Mackie Plays a Legendary Desert Bandit Protecting a Runaway Princess from Ben Kingsley’s Ruthless Emperor in Director Rupert Wyatt’s Historical Action Epic with Aiysha Hart & Sharlto Copley — Coming to Theaters April 24th
Empires rise and empires fall. But what you have to remember is that empires sometimes become so powerful that they forget even the smallest resistance can bring them to their knees.
Anthony Mackie trades in his shield and wings for something a little breezy and loose-fitting as he stars as a legendary Arabian bandit taking on a mighty army to protect a runaway princess in the action-packed historical adventure epic Desert Warrior.
Hailing from Rise of the Planet of the Apes filmmaker Rupert Wyatt and set in the Arabian Peninsula during the volatile seventh-century expansion of the Persian Empire, the film follows a young princess (played by Aiysha Hart, from Mogul Mowgli and TV’s A Discovery of Witches) forced to abandon palace life and survive in the unforgiving desert after defying a ruthless emperor determined to dominate the region. Her only hope lies in forming an unlikely alliance with a legendary desert bandit (Mackie) who has made a name for himself resisting imperial rule.
A throwback to the classic sweeping desert spectacle with a reluctant hero at its center, Mackie aims to prove that no matter the setting, he’s got the charisma and courage to lead the charge against Sir Ben Kingsley, who takes on the role of Emperor Kisra, a powerful ruler determined to crush any resistance to his expanding empire.
South African actor Sharlto Copley, of District 9 fame, co-stars as a mercenary tasked with hunting down Mackie’s elusive bandit, only to realize he may be the one leader capable of uniting the region’s long-feuding tribes in a shared fight to topple the invading empire.
Also co-starring Ghassan Massoud, Sami Bouajila, Lamis Ammar, Géza Röhrig, and Numan Acar, Desert Warrior is set to hit theaters April 24th.
🎥 “Thrash” Trailer: Djimon Hounsou Battles Storm-Flooded Streets and Hungry Sharks in Tommy Wirkola’s Hurricane-Fueled Survival Thriller — Premiering April 10th on Netflix
If Jaws taught us anything, it’s that the real terror of the water isn’t drowning... it’s what might already be swimming beneath the surface, waiting for its next meal. Which makes us wonder: what happens when a massive flood turns an entire town into shark-infested waters? Well... if your first thought was that sounds like one hell of a movie, you’re in luck. One is on the way, and it’s arriving soon.
Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola, the genre-loving director behind the cult Nazi zombie splatterfest Dead Snow, its gleefully outrageous sequel Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, and the recent Santa Claus action hit Violent Night, has really sunk his teeth into this one. It’s a new Netflix original called Thrash. Yup! It’s a shark-infested survival horror thriller set in a coastal town that has just been hit by a monstrous Category 5 hurricane. As the storm breaks through the city’s barriers, streets are suddenly flooded, buildings demolished, and much of the town left underwater. But the survivors soon discover the nightmare has only just begun, as the real threat isn’t the rising water levels... it’s what’s now swimming in them: blood-hungry sharks!
Djimon Hounsou leads this action-packed thriller as a local boat captain who takes to the rising waters in search of stranded residents. Among those trapped in the disaster is a young pregnant woman, played by Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, who finds herself stuck in her car as the hurricane rips through the city and the floodwaters begin swallowing the streets.
Helping coordinate the desperate rescue effort is the captain’s daughter (played by Whitney Peak), who joins her father aboard their small boat as they navigate debris-filled waters and search for survivors scattered across the drowned town. But with sharks circling the flooded neighborhoods, every rescue attempt becomes a high-stakes gamble.
The cast also includes Matt Nable, Stacy Clausen, and Alyla Browne, rounding out a group of survivors trying to stay alive in a city where the streets have turned into feeding grounds for these jagged-toothed predators. Just when you thought a hurricane was the worst thing a coastal town could face... along comes the shark-infested flood to prove otherwise.
Thrash premieres April 10th on Netflix.
🎥 “Our Hero, Balthazar” Trailer: Jaeden Martell Plays a Privileged Teen Whose Online Activism Spirals Into a Dangerous Road Trip in Oscar Boyson’s Dark Social Satire Thriller with Asa Butterfield — In Theaters March 27th
We live in times of both rampant anonymous internet trolls and performative online crusaders. And the thing they have in common is a desperate need to be seen, heard, and validated.
Our Hero, Balthazar, a razor-sharp social satire thriller that pokes at online clout-chasing and the intoxicating rush of performative activism, while also examining youth rapidly slipping into apathy and moral confusion, just might be one of the most provocative films of the year. It also feels especially timely as social media has become a dominant form of communication among younger generations navigating identity, outrage, and validation in the digital age. In other words, the kids aren’t all right.
Jaeden Martell (IT, IT Chapter Two) stars as Balthazar, a privileged and socially awkward New York teenager who begins posting passionate pro-gun-control videos online, hoping to impress a politically engaged classmate while quietly enjoying the glow of moral superiority. But when an anonymous internet troll starts mocking him at every turn, Balthazar’s digital crusade quickly mutates into obsession.
Convinced the troll—a gun-obsessed teen named Solomon, played by Sex Education star Asa Butterfield—might be planning something far more dangerous, Balthazar does what any impulsive, overconfident internet activist might do: he travels to Texas to confront the supposed threat himself.
What he finds isn’t exactly the villain he imagined. In some ways Solomon fits the profile Balthazar constructed in his head; in others, he’s just another lonely teenager navigating anger, confusion, and a complicated home life. The two teens form an uneasy bond as their strange journey edges toward something far more volatile than either of them expected.
The film also co-stars Chris Bauer, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Baryshnikov, Noah Centineo, and Becky Ann Baker, with Avan Jogia playing a local men’s rights activist.
Filmmaker Oscar Boyson (known for producing indie standouts like Uncut Gems and Good Time) makes his feature directorial debut here. Co-written with journalist and author Ricky Camilleri, the film premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Festival, where it drew attention for its provocative mix of satire and social commentary examining internet culture and modern masculinity.
Our Hero, Balthazar arrives in theaters March 27th.
🎥 “Fuze” U.S. Trailer: Aaron Taylor-Johnson Races to Disarm a WWII Bomb While Theo James Plots a Diamond Heist in David Mackenzie’s London Crime Thriller — In Theaters April 24th
Every so often a thriller comes along that builds its tension around a simple but nerve-rattling question: what happens when the entire city is forced to stop... and someone decides that’s the perfect moment to strike?
That’s the ticking-clock setup behind Fuze, a new British action thriller from Hell or High Water filmmaker David Mackenzie, who once again returns to morally tangled crime territory; only this time with a bomb buried beneath modern London and a heist quietly unfolding in its shadow.
The story kicks off when an unexploded World War II bomb is discovered beneath a busy construction site, triggering a massive emergency response and forcing authorities to evacuate large parts of the city. But while the city focuses on the looming threat beneath the pavement, another plan begins to unfold above it: a daring diamond heist unfolding in plain sight.
28 Years Later star Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays a member of the military bomb disposal unit tasked with safely defusing the decades-old explosive before it turns the city of London into a disaster zone. At the same time, Theo James (of The Monkey and The White Lotus: Season 2) plays a cool-headed diamond smuggler who sees the mass evacuation not as a crisis but as the perfect cover for a meticulously planned heist.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki) co-stars as the city’s chief metro superintendent manning the emergency response from command headquarters, while rounding out the cast are Sam Worthington, Honor Swinton Byrne, Saffron Hocking, and Elham Ehsas.
While all of London might be holding its collective breath over a bomb that could explode at any moment, the last thing anyone expects is a second fuse quietly burning somewhere else, where the timing is just as critical... and the consequences just as explosive.
Fuze is slated to explode into U.S. theaters April 24th.

🎥 “Mile End Kicks” Trailer: Barbie Ferreira Gets Tangled in a Montreal Indie Rock Love Triangle in Chandler Levack’s Music-Scene Rom-Com — In Theaters April 17th

Barbie Ferreira, of Euphoria and Bob Trevino Likes It fame, stars as an aspiring music critic who moves to Montreal hoping to write a book about Alanis Morissette’s breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill. Instead, she finds herself pulled into the orbit of an up-and-coming rock band, eventually becoming romantically tangled with two of its members at the same time. 🎥 “Roommates” Trailer: Sadie Sandler and Chloe East Turn Dorm Life Into a Passive-Aggressive Cold War in Happy Madison’s Campus Comedy — Debuts April 17th on Netflix
College roommates are supposed to share space, not start a silent war. Sadie Sandler, daughter of Adam Sandler, caught the acting bug appearing in several of her father’s comedies, but after breaking out in the Netflix hit You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, it might finally be her time to take the main lead in this campus comedy produced by Happy Madison. She stars opposite Chloe East of The Fabelmans and Heretic as her much cooler and confident college roommate. As a hopeful freshman, Sadie’s budding friendship slowly unravels into a passive-aggressive showdown fought through dorm politics, subtle digs, and mounting resentment. With Sarah Sherman, Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, Storm Reid, and Adam Sandler rounding out the cast, this college comedy suggests surviving the school years might start with surviving your own roommate’s mood swings. Filmmaker Chandler Levack (I Like Movies), who also has Mile End Kicks (look above) arriving this year, directs.

Sadly, his warnings and investigations—including the book Easy Money—have done little to curtail the industry’s relentless hype and speculation.
So, the next reasonable step? Make a documentary. McKenzie’s directorial debut examines a financial system built more on belief than proof, as he turns himself into a reporter digging into the explosive rise of cryptocurrency and the culture of hype, misinformation, and speculation that helped fuel it. Through interviews with experts and a closer look at major industry collapses, the film reveals how crypto became one of the most aggressively marketed financial products of the modern era... which raises the question of who actually benefits if the market collapses and ordinary investors are left holding the bag.
