Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon Clash in Final "You're Cordially Invited" Trailer
A double-booked wedding venue sparks hilarity as Ferrell and Witherspoon face off in Nicholas Stoller’s latest comedy, streaming this week on Prime Video.
It's the onscreen pairing of Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon as they descend into an escalating feud between two strangers fighting over the same wedding venue. Check out the final trailer for You're Cordially Invited.
In the new Amazon original feature, Ferrell plays the devoted father of a daughter about to be married, while Witherspoon portrays a successful businesswoman whose younger sister is also about to tie the knot. As a gesture of love, they each agree to pay for the wedding for their respective loved ones, randomly selecting the same dream wedding location for the same weekend.
However, the resort makes a huge mistake by accidentally double-booking, forcing Ferrell and Witherspoon to share the same venue. Their guests arrive without any knowledge of the mix-up. Still determined to give his daughter the perfect wedding, Ferrell’s character takes it upon himself to hog all the resources in an attempt to push Witherspoon and her sister’s wedding party out of the picture. Witherspoon’s character, however, takes a stand and pushes back, setting the stage for a comedic clash of epic proportions.
Joining Ferrell and Witherspoon in this comedy are Geraldine Viswanathan as Ferrell's daughter and Meredith Hagner as Witherspoon's sister. The cast also includes Jimmy Tatro, Celia Weston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Leanne Morgan, and Jack McBrayer.
The film is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, The Five-Year Engagement), who recently teamed up with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne again for the Apple original comedy series Platonic. Stoller is also known for creating the Netflix series Friends from College. This is his first feature film since directing the 2022 gay-centric comedy Bros with Billy Eichner.
You're Cordially Invited arrives on Prime Video this week starting Thursday, January 30th.
