“Washington Black” Trailer: Ernest Kingsley Jr. Soars on a Fantastical Flight for Freedom in Hulu’s Steampunk-Infused Period Adventure Series From Executive Producer and Co-star Sterling K. Brown — All Episodes Out July 23rd on Hulu
With great oppression comes great resistance. And sometimes, resistance might appear as if daring to dream the impossible... to overcome great odds, to achieve what once seemed unimaginable, to turn hope into action, and defiance into destiny.
Now, if that sounds like something you’d want to see in a new limited series on Hulu—well, take a gander at this! You just might want to add this to your watchlist.
From executive producer Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, Paradise), Washington Black is a fantasy-tinged historical adventure that leans into the surreal and fantastical elements of magical realism, yet never shies away from the brutality of the era. The series follows the plight of George Washington “Wash” Black, a brilliant young boy who escapes a Barbados plantation, breaking the chains of slavery as he takes flight (quite literally) on a globe-trotting journey, riding a highly advanced hot air balloon of his own design, accompanied by his mentor, British scientist and abolitionist Christopher “Titch” Wilde.
Featuring a mix of steampunk aesthetic and period detail, the series stars up-and-comer Ernest Kingsley Jr. in the title role of Wash, while Lucifer star Tom Ellis takes on the role of Titch.
As Wash navigates deserts, ice fields, and the limits of human cruelty, he also dares to dream of love, liberty, and a life beyond the world he was born into. Spanning several years, Wash grows into a young man with a reward on his head. Along the way, he crosses paths with Medwin, a former slave turned salvage diver (played by Sterling K. Brown), and Tanna Goff, a biracial woman (played by Iola Evans) living in high society, who becomes his love interest—bringing with her a new set of obstacles and complications filled with heartbreak and hard truths.
This sweeping 19th-century adventure is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by author Esi Edugyan. Selwyn Seyfu Hinds and Kimberly Ann Harrison serve as showrunners.
Co-starring Rupert Graves, Edward Bluemel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Julian Black Antelope, Billy Boyd, and Eddie Karanja as a young Wash, Washington Black will have all its episodes available to stream on Wednesday, July 23rd on Hulu.
“Irish Blood” Trailer: Alicia Silverstone Stars as an American Woman Digging Up Her Irish Family Secrets in This New Irish Series — Streaming August 11th on Acorn TV
Is it time for an Alicia Silverstone renaissance? A Silver-issance, if you will? Who didn’t love Alicia Silverstone in the ’90s staple Clueless? Hey, we even loved her in those Aerosmith music videos back in the day!
Well, Alicia Silverstone has been picking up steam over the last couple of years, taking on roles that would be considered a little less conventional (see: Krazy House, Y2K, Pretty Thing, Reptile, The Lodge). But in her latest television project, Silverstone might be returning to familiar territory, tapping into her comedic roots as a fish-out-of-water American woman in Ireland. And you can bet she brings her trademark sass and charm along for the ride. As if!
In the upcoming Irish series Irish Blood, Silverstone stars as sharp-tongued divorce lawyer Fiona Sharpe. When she receives a message from her long-lost Irish father, she finds herself trading courtrooms for the cliffs of Ireland as she digs up family secrets buried deep in the Emerald Isle. As Fiona uncovers the truth about her past, she learns that some abandonments are really acts of love... and some roots run darker than expected.
Also starring Ruth Codd, Jason O'Mara, Barry John Kinsella, and Djouliet Amara, Irish Blood is set to premiere Monday, August 11th, on the British-American VOD platform Acorn TV—a streaming service that specializes in importing television shows from the UK, Ireland, and other markets outside the US.
“Robot Chicken: Self-Discovery Special” Trailer: Seth Green’s Cult Claymation Comedy Returns to Roast Itself After 20 Years — Premiering July 20th on Adult Swim, Streams July 21st on HBO MAX
Would you believe it’s been 20 years since Seth Green and his longtime collaborator Matthew Senreich launched their wildly irreverent stop-motion animated comedy series Robot Chicken?
Yes, 20 years ago, this little stop-motion show on Adult Swim became a late-night cult sensation—mashing up pop culture, parody, and pure chaos into bite-sized, rapid-fire sketches that left no celebrity, cartoon, or franchise unroasted. It was a time when fandom wasn’t so precious and everyone could partake in the joke without fear of being caught in an endless flame war.
Well, it seems Adult Swim will celebrate this milestone with a new comedy special: Robot Chicken: Self-Discovery Special.
So, after 20 years of turning action figures into punchlines and pop culture into pure chaos, Robot Chicken will be back with an all-new special that promises to celebrate its legacy the only way it knows how: by gleefully blowing it up. The Self-Discovery Special marks two decades of claymation carnage, awkward nostalgia, and jokes your therapist warned you about.
Premiering Sunday, July 20th on Adult Swim and streaming the next day on HBO MAX. So, brace yourself… it’s gonna get weird. Juvenile jokes aplenty... which is just how we like it.

Daryl and Carol finally reunited in Season 2 of this Walking Dead spinoff series, proving that an ocean couldn’t keep these ride-or-die warriors apart for long. But as they plan to return home to America after surviving a brutal conflict in France, their journey takes an unexpected detour—straight into the heart of zombie-infested Spain!
In Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, you can expect Daryl and Carol to face new threats, forge new alliances, and battle a fresh wave of walking dead waiting around every corner. It seems the Day of the Dead just got a whole lot bloodier... and deader.
With Óscar Jaenada, Eduardo Noriega, Nansi Nsue, Maria Erwolter, and Stephen Merchant joining the cast this season, the zombie series is slated to return Sunday, September 7th, only on AMC and AMC+. So keep those blades sharpened and your crossbows loaded... Daryl and Carol aren’t done fighting yet. And if the network had their way, they won’t stop until... they’re (un)dead!
