📺 “The Witcher: Season 4” First Look Teaser: Liam Hemsworth Swings the Silver Sword in Netflix’s Epic Penultimate Chapter of the Popular Fantasy Series — Premieres October 30th on Netflix
Netflix has released the first look at The Witcher: Season 4, arriving this Halloween, and with it comes the long-awaited debut of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. Season 4 isn’t just another chapter in the saga... it’s the beginning of the end! Filmed back-to-back with Season 5, these final installments will adapt fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski’s last three Witcher novels (Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake) to bring Geralt’s journey to its epic conclusion.
Hemsworth, stepping into the monster-slayer’s boots after Henry Cavill’s departure, wasted no time donning the iconic medallion. His Geralt is first seen trekking through a misty wasteland, sword in hand, before turning to face something ominous stirring in the shadows—a demonic, ghostly monster that proves to be a formidable foe.
So, where did Season 3 leave off? The events of last season fractured the trio of Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan). Geralt, nearly killed by Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu), has regrouped with Jaskier (Joey Batey) and new ally Milva (Meng’er Zhang), intent on rescuing Ciri from Nilfgaard. The problem: Emperor Emhyr (Bart Edwards) doesn’t actually have the real Ciri, but a brainwashed decoy named Teryn (Frances Pooley). The real Ciri, meanwhile, has survived the Korath Desert, taken the rebel name Falka, and fallen in with a gang of teenage misfits known as the Rats. And as for Yennefer, she’s reeling from the betrayal at Aretuza and the death of her mentor, Tissaia (MyAnna Buring), stepping into leadership of the sorceresses in her place.
This new season will also expand the world with heavy-hitting additions: Laurence Fishburne joins as the enigmatic barber-surgeon Regis, a fan-favorite character from the books and games. Sharlto Copley appears as ruthless bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy takes on the role of imperial spy Skellen, and Danny Woodburn steps in as Zoltan, the beloved dwarven companion of Geralt.
With the Continent engulfed in war, Season 4 promises shifting alliances, fractured loyalties, and a long road to reunion for Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer. And with Hemsworth making his first swing of the silver sword, fans are about to see a new side of the Witcher—one that will carry the saga to its bloody, bittersweet finale.
The Witcher returns for its fourth and penultimate season on Thursday, October 30th, only on Netflix.
📺 “English Teacher: Season 2” Trailer: Brian Jordan Alvarez Returns with Stephanie Koenig, Sean Patton, and Enrico Colantoni in FX’s Critically Acclaimed High School Satire — Premieres September 25th on FX on Hulu/Disney+
School’s back in session, and so is a brand-new lineup of returning television favorites. Brian Jordan Alvarez returns as well-meaning yet perpetually exasperated educator Evan Marquez in FX’s acclaimed high school satire English Teacher, joined once again by Stephanie Koenig, Sean Patton, Carmen Christopher, and Enrico Colantoni. This season, Evan faces a fresh tangle of personal struggles and school politics, where every cause, crisis, and classroom clash threatens to test his patience—and everyone else’s.
Brian Jordan Alvarez (who you might recognize as robotic engineer Cole in the M3GAN franchise) returns as both creator and star of this critically acclaimed FX comedy series, which cleverly mines the generational divide between older Millennials on the teaching staff and the Gen Z students they’re tasked with corralling.
Season 2 finds Alvarez’s Evan Marquez once again knee-deep in the political minefield of Morrison-Hensley High in Austin, Texas, where lofty ideals crash headfirst into everyday absurdity. Alongside best friend and fellow teacher Gwen (Stephanie Koenig), lovable but pigheaded gym teacher Markie (Sean Patton), anxious guidance counselor Rick (Carmen Christopher), and ever-frazzled Principal Moretti (Enrico Colantoni), Evan wades into hot-button territory from climate change to military recruitment to student phone addictions. Meanwhile, his personal life proves just as tricky, as Evan’s all-consuming crusades at school threaten to derail his relationship with Malcolm (Jordan Firstman), his off-and-on boyfriend.
With its whip-smart ensemble and razor-sharp humor, English Teacher’s sophomore year promises a syllabus packed with satire, scandal, and plenty of detention-worthy laughs as the staff at Morrison-Hensley High stumble their way through the chaotic political minefield otherwise known as the American public school system.
Executive produced by Jonathan Krisel, Paul Simms, Dave King, Kathryn Dean, and Jake Bender & Zach Dunn, if Season 1 made English Teacher a cult favorite, Season 2 doubles down for another romp when it returns Thursday, September 25, on FX on Hulu/Disney+.
So sharpen those pencils, silence those cell phones, and get ready—because English Teacher is officially back for its second semester!
📺 “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” Trailer: Jason Clarke and Patricia Arquette Lead Hulu’s New True Crime Drama Miniseries with Brittany Snow and J. Smith-Cameron — Premieres October 15th on Hulu/Disney+
Just when you thought there weren’t any more true crime stories left to dramatize, Hulu drops yet another to pique your morbid curiosity. The streaming platform—already behind chilling dramatizations like The Act, The Girl from Plainville, and Candy, among others—now dives headfirst into another jaw-dropping case with Murdaugh: Death in the Family, a new limited series from creators Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr.
Inspired by The Murdaugh Murders Podcast from investigative journalist Mandy Matney (portrayed in the mini-series by Brittany Snow), the Hulu original dramatizes the unraveling of a dynasty once considered untouchable in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
At the center of the story are Alex and Maggie Murdaugh (played by Winning Time’s Jason Clarke and Severance’s Patricia Arquette), who appear to have it all: wealth, power, and the iron grip of a family legal empire stretching back generations. But when their son Paul (Johnny Berchtold) is involved in a fatal boat crash, the cracks in the Murdaugh legacy widen into a full-blown fracture. Suddenly, every whispered rumor and every unsolved death circling the family comes roaring into the spotlight, dragging the dynasty into a storm of scandal, suspicion, and betrayal.
Snow’s Mandy Matney offers a vital outside perspective, capturing the relentless reporting that first pieced together the truth behind the headlines and gave voice to victims too easily ignored.
Meanwhile, J. Smith-Cameron co-stars as Marian Proctor, Maggie’s sister, with Will Harrison as Buster Murdaugh, Noah Emmerich as Randy Murdaugh, Kathleen Wilhoite as Gloria Satterfield, Tommy Dewey as attorney Mark Tinsley, and Gerald McRaney as patriarch Randolph Murdaugh.
A tale of privilege, cover-ups, and the collapse of a dynasty, Murdaugh: Death in the Family proves yet again that truth isn’t just stranger than fiction... it’s deadly. The series premieres Wednesday, October 15, exclusively on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
📺 “Cocaine Quarterback” Trailer: USC Walk-On Turned Cartel Middleman Exposed in New True Crime Docuseries about the Rise and Fall of Owen Hanson — Premieres September 25th on Prime Video
Football is a sport for team building and fostering discipline, strategy, and camaraderie among players. And sometimes, football becomes an opportunity to lean into the darker side of access and exploitation.
Produced by Mark Wahlberg’s Unrealistic Ideas, this new three-part Prime Video documentary series chronicles the unbelievable rise and fall of Owen Hanson, the infamous “Cocaine Quarterback,” charting how a onetime walk-on at USC’s powerhouse football program traded in playbooks for payoffs, turning his access to the sports world into a pipeline for drugs, cash, and chaos.
From Heisman hopeful to cartel middleman, Hanson’s story begins with modest roots, an unexpected shot on the Trojan roster, and friendships with future NFL millionaires. But when the bright lights dimmed after graduation, he looked for another way to stay in the game. Illegal bookmaking gave him a taste of easy money, but it wasn’t long before Hanson was smuggling kilos of cocaine for a Mexican drug lord—his quest for wealth now entangled with a deadly criminal enterprise.
The docuseries spares no detail, blending Hanson’s own perspective with testimony from law enforcement, insiders, and even his victims. It traces the absurd twists of his harebrained money-laundering schemes, the mounting debts that put him in the cartel’s crosshairs, and the FBI investigation that finally brought his empire crashing down. With a mix of shocking archival footage and slick dramatizations, the docuseries unpacks how one man went from celebrated athlete to coked-up cautionary tale.
Executive produced by Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Archie Gips, David Wendell, and director Jody McVeigh-Schultz, Cocaine Quarterback is the story of a man who had everything to gain, everything to lose, and only one way it could end.
The three-part documentary is set to premiere Thursday, September 25 on Prime Video.
