“Gen V: Season 2” Teaser Trailer: The Boys Spinoff Returns with New School Rules, a New Godolkin Dean, and Darker Secrets as Jaz Sinclair Roars Back in Action – Premiering September 17th on Prime Video
School’s back in session! And it’s still a total bloodbath.
Gen V, the darkly satirical, ultra-violent superhero series set within the universe of The Boys, is returning for a second season after leaving fans reeling from a finale packed with blood, betrayal, and unexpected twists. But this time, it comes back under a somber shadow.
The show faces the heartbreaking loss of rising actor Chance Perdomo, who portrayed Andre Anderson, the magnetic, metal-manipulating son of superhero Polarity (played by Sean Patrick Thomas). Perdomo tragically died in a motorcycle accident just days before Season 2 production was set to begin. His sudden passing left a void in the cast and prompted the creative team to pause and respectfully rethink how to move forward.
Production was temporarily halted, and scripts were revised to address Andre's absence in a way that honors both the character and Perdomo’s memory. In Season 2, Andre has mysteriously gone missing, prompting his father Polarity to set off on his own mission to uncover the truth behind his son’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, Jaz Sinclair returns as blood-bending badass Marie Moreau, joined by Lizze Broadway’s pint-sized powerhouse Emma Meyer and their gender-shifting ally Jordan Li, played by both London Thor and Derek Luh. When we last saw this trio, they were imprisoned—scapegoats of a failed uprising at Godolkin University. That rebellion backfired in spectacular fashion, as allies turned enemies and former friends (Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap and Asa Germann as Sam Riordan) pledged loyalty to Homelander, plunging the school into even deeper turmoil.
Season 2 continues to dig into the deep-rooted corruption at Godolkin, as a new school dean (played by Hamish Linklater) steps in to restore order. But his idea of discipline comes with a catch. Marie, Emma, and Jordan are offered a shot at freedom… if they’re willing to play by the school’s new rules. That means toeing the line, embracing their power, and becoming the badass supes the world expects them to be, whether they’re ready for it or not.
Executive produced by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, Gen V: Season 2 comes roaring back on Wednesday, September 17th. Watch the newly released teaser above.
“Dexter: Resurrection” Trailer: Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) Cheats Death Again in New York–Set Spinoff with Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, Krysten Ritter and More – Premieres July 11 on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
Guess who’s back from the dead... again? So it seems if there’s a will, there’s a way. And if there’s even a faint sign of a pulse, you can always bring someone back... hey, it’s television!
Everyone’s favorite forensic analyst-slash-serial killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), is back one more time. Thought to be dead? Sure. But that didn’t stop him from faking his death and resurfacing under a new identity in the limited series Dexter: New Blood. Of course, that didn’t end well either—he was shot and killed by his estranged son, Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott), in the finale.
So, Dexter’s story is officially over, right? Wrong. He’s back once again in a brand-new revival spinoff series called Dexter: Resurrection. And this time, he’s taking his serial-killing ass to New York. Because it’s the kind of city where you can hide, start over, and—apparently—run into other serial killers and their obsessive fans. It’s the Big Apple, where the streets never sleep… and neither do the psychos.
Dexter: Resurrection slices open a fresh new chapter in the saga of Dexter Morgan—a man who kills by a code, yet seems almost immortal at this point. Picking up weeks after Dexter took a bullet from his own son in New Blood, this spinoff reveals he survived… barely. Now waking from a coma with more emotional baggage than his signature kill kit, Dexter is on a mission: find Harrison, make amends, and maybe—just maybe—not leave a trail of bodies this time. (No promises.)
However, Dexter quickly learns the Big Apple has its own share of secrets. Cue: Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, a wealthy serial killer fanatic who invites Dexter—along with a few other like-minded murderers—for a twisted meeting of the minds… and maybe a challenge to see who truly deserves the title of ultimate predator.
Joining the cast are Uma Thurman, Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian. Returning favorites include David Zayas as Miami police captain Angel Batista and James Remar as Harry Morgan, Dexter's late father and ever-present ghostly conscience.
With executive producer Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: New Blood) back at the helm, Dexter: Resurrection is set to premiere Friday, July 11 on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
“The War Between the Land and the Sea” Teaser: Dr. Who Showrunner Russell T. Davies Expands the Whoniverse with Sea Devils, UNIT, and a New Aquatic Apocalypse – Premiering Later This Year on BBC and Disney+
From Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies comes a new splashy installment in the ever-expanding Whoniverse, which has already given us spin-offs like Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and Class. Now, get ready for the next entry: The War Between the Land and the Sea.
This five-episode sci-fi fantasy miniseries, created and written by Davies, pits humanity against the Sea Devils—ancient marine warriors on the verge of unleashing an all-out aquatic apocalypse.
When these slippery foes resurface and threaten global war, it’s up to UNIT—led by Jemma Redgrave’s Kate Lethbridge-Stewart—to stop the tide of destruction. But with diplomacy sinking fast, they’ll need backup from some fresh faces. Enter Russell Tovey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Alexander Devrient, ready to wade into the chaos with style, smarts, and sonic showdowns.
Brimming with ancient sea-alien politics and enough salty tension to flood the ocean, The War Between the Land and the Sea promises classic British sci-fi fantasy with an aquatic twist. The miniseries is set to make waves later this year on BBC and Disney+.
“Nautilus” Trailer: Shazad Latif Stars as Captain Nemo in AMC’s Bold, Steampunk Reimagining of Jules Verne’s Sci-Fi Classic – Premieres June 29th on AMC and AMC+
Many admirers of legendary author Jules Verne labeled him as “the father of science fiction.” He was certainly a visionary and literary futurist who seemed to possess an instinctive ability to imagine a future so vividly, it often felt prophetic. But Verne himself could have never predicted a future where some of his greatest works would be brought to life on screen in such an elaborate, visually stunning way. CGI and modern filmmaking technology have allowed his wildest imaginings to leap from the page with a level of spectacle and scale that even he might have found unimaginable.
Nautilus, a new British series for AMC, uses Verne's classic 1870 novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas as a launching point to reimagine and expand the character of Captain Nemo, an Indian prince-turned-seafaring adventurer who voyages through the depths of the oceans in his own technologically advanced submarine, the Nautilus.
Here, British-Pakistani actor Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery) takes on the lead role of Captain Nemo. In this fresh small-screen interpretation, the world blends Victorian England with a bold steampunk aesthetic. Nemo is portrayed as a fiercely determined and resourceful treasure hunter who escapes from a brutal penal colony aboard a stolen prototype submarine, the Nautilus, leading a crew made up of fellow prisoners as they chart a rebellious course beneath the seas. Their mission: to reach the fabled Viking treasure buried at the Pillars of Halvar, all while staying one step ahead of the ruthless East India Mercantile Company, whose agents will stop at nothing to capture Nemo… or make sure he never resurfaces from the ocean again.
Created and written by showrunner James Dormer (Strike Back, Medici), the series also stars Luke Arnold, Georgia Flood, Thierry Frémont, Pacharo Mzembe, Arlo Green, Cameron Cuffe, Damien Garvey, and Jacob Collins-Levy. Meanwhile, guest stars include Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv, and Noah Taylor.
Michael Matthews, the director of 2020’s post-apocalyptic monster flick Love and Monsters starring Dylan O'Brien, is directing the first four episodes of Nautilus, while directors Ben C. Lucas and Isabelle Sieb each helm three-episode arcs.
Nautilus is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, June 29th on AMC and AMC+.
“Countdown” Trailer: Jensen Ackles Stars as LAPD Detective Leading a New Task Force In This New Amazon Series with Eric Dane – Premieres June 25th on Prime Video
After 15 seasons of starring in the beloved demon-hunting series Supernatural, you’d think Jensen Ackles might want to take a break from television. Hell, after 14 years working on the same show as the same character, no one would be surprised if Ackles said goodbye to the small screen altogether. But nope. As soon as Supernatural ended its run to many fans’ heartbreak, Ackles quickly threw himself into new TV projects, most notably his standout turn as Soldier Boy in Amazon’s ultra-violent, adults-only superhero satire The Boys, reuniting with his Supernatural showrunner, Eric Kripke. And even though that was a small but memorable gig on The Boys, it seems Amazon wanted to keep their partnership with the actor going, as Ackles now takes the lead in the streaming company's next action-driven cop series, Countdown.
And while he's not as dangerously egomaniacal as his Soldier Boy character, Ackles is once again playing a highly motivated crimefighter, this time seeking to prevent catastrophes before they happen, in this new series from Derek Haas, executive producer of Chicago P.D. and FBI: International.
In Countdown, Jensen Ackles stars as hard-boiled LAPD detective Mark Meachum, who’s tapped to lead a newly formed government task force made up of elite undercover agents from across law enforcement. Their mission: investigate the shocking, broad-daylight assassination of a Department of Homeland Security officer. Armed with every skill and undercover tactic in their arsenal, the team begins to unravel a conspiracy with far-reaching consequences—one that points to an imminent terrorist threat looming over the city of Los Angeles. Now, it’s a race against the clock to stop the unthinkable before time runs out.
Joining Ackles in the cast are Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy, Euphoria) as the team's special government liaison and supervisor, while Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen), Violett Beane (Death and Other Details), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock) round out as newly recruited members of this new anti-terrorism task force.
Countdown will debut Wednesday, June 25th on Prime Video with a three-episode premiere, followed by new episodes weekly until the season finale on Wednesday, September 3rd. Watch the show's official trailer, above.
“The Kollective” Trailer: Citizen Journalists Uncover a Deadly Global Conspiracy in Hulu’s New Thriller Series From the Creators of ZeroZeroZero – Premiering on Hulu June 10th
In a world where the truth has become harder and harder to uncover, reporters from outside the mainstream have to find new ways to expose the real story. But how can you get the word out when your only weapon is the printed word, while the rest of the world is suffocating in a digital age of cover-ups and misinformation?
Said to be inspired by true events, The Kollective, Hulu's new internationally produced drama-thriller miniseries, follows a group of young citizen journalists, known as the Kollective, as they investigate a recent plane crash tragedy, only to discover signs of a major cover-up with implications that reach farther than anyone expected.
With members from different parts of the world, the Kollective uses their cyber skills to connect a thread linking several incriminating events, including murdered journalists, downed planes in the Congo, and a Congolese political assassination carried out by Russian operatives. But getting the truth out just might be the hardest thing these citizen journalists face when they find themselves hunted, hacked, and discredited by the very forces they’re trying to expose.
Created by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, and Femke Wolting, the same team behind Amazon Prime's critically acclaimed Italian-British crime series ZeroZeroZero, The Kollective features a top-notch cast of international actors including Natascha McElhone (Halo, Designated Survivor), Gregg Sulkin (Marvel's Runaways), Celine Buckens (Warrior), Grégory Montel (Call My Agent!), Felix Mayr (Unorthodox), Sergej Onopko (The Agency), and Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy).
The Kollective is split between two directors: Assaf Bernstein (Fauda) helms the first three episodes, while Randa Chahoud (Deutschland 89) takes over for the final three. All six episodes drop Tuesday, June 10th on Hulu.
“ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter?” Trailer: Smooth-Talking Con Artist Poses as Mr. Right in Amazon’s New True-Crime Docuseries – Premieres June 13th on Prime Video
If you feel someone is too good to be true, don't ignore that feeling. Your conscience might be telling you something you need to hear. Sadly, in most cases, if something feels like it's too good to be true, it's because it is. But overlooking red flags in the pursuit of love is more common than you might think. So, no one should look down on anyone who seems to fall for the wrong person, nor fall for a scheme carried out by a conniving suitor. Manipulation can be subtle, and when it’s wrapped in charm and affection, even the most guarded hearts can be deceived.
In this new two-part Amazon original docu-series ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter?, hear the heartbreaking testimonies of several women who were conned out of their life savings by a man they believed was their soulmate. In reality, he was a cunning con artist who preyed on older, divorced women, using charm and deception to exploit their trust, then vanished without a trace, moving on to his next victim.
So who was “Jace?” Well, to several women he swindled, he seemed like the perfect guy at first. Jace was a single man who claimed he wanted a permanent relationship with an older, sophisticated woman. He didn’t care if she made or had more money than he did... in fact, the wealthier, the better. But in truth, Jace was Jason Porter, a convicted thief and fraudster with a long history of scamming women out of their money.
This is the story of Heather Rovet, a successful Toronto real estate broker and one of “Jace’s” many victims, who not only uncovered the truth but risked everything to expose him. She set out to seek justice and hoped to help others avoid the same fate (and the same shame) she once faced. But fighting back was the only way she could reclaim her power, her dignity, and ensure that Jason Porter’s lies would no longer go unanswered.
Directed by Henry Roosevelt and produced by Blink49 Studios for Amazon MGM Studios, ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter? is set to premiere Friday, June 13th on Prime Video.
"King of the Hill: Season 14” Brand-New Opening Credit Sequence: Get a Peek at Mike Judge's Long-Awaited Animated Revival with a Older and Taller Bobby – Premiering August 4th on Hulu and Disney+
Mark your calendars for Monday, August 4th! Because that’s when King of the Hill, the beloved animated series from Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, makes its long-awaited return for a 14th season. It’s been nearly 15 years since the show last aired new episodes, but thanks to a devoted fanbase that never wavered, the series was greenlit for a revival—with most of the original voice cast returning as well.
Loosely inspired by Mike Judge's own upbringing in Texas, King of the Hill centers on the blue-collar Hill family from the fictional town of Arlen, led by propane accessory salesman and beer-loving straight-shooter Hank Hill (voiced by Judge). The original series also chronicled the coming-of-age journey of Hank’s son, Bobby Hill (voiced by Pamela Adlon), a chubby, socially awkward, yet kind-hearted teen who often found himself at odds with his father’s more traditional views.
Because it’s been so long since the series last aired, Judge made the decision to reflect the passage of time in the new revival. That means the Hill family is now older, with storylines acknowledging the years that have gone by. Hank and his wife Peggy are now retired, and their son Bobby is all grown up. Of course, he’s still got that same squeaky voice (well, we imagine), with Pamela Adlon returning to voice the character once more.
Hulu has announced that fans can expect 10 all-new episodes in August, available exclusively on Hulu and Disney+. While there’s no official trailer for the new season just yet, the streaming company did release the brand-new opening credit sequence, which offers our first look at an older Hill family... and a now older and taller Bobby.
Check it out, above. And just remember: even though they’re animated, it doesn’t mean they can’t grow older like the rest of us.
Here's the official synopsis:
Better than an Alamo and almost as good as propane. An all new season of King of The Hill drops Aug 4th on Hulu and with Hulu On Disney Plus.
After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill.
Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.
