Tudum! Netflix Sneak Peeks: Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Stranger Things 5, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Happy Gilmore 2, Squid Game: Season 3, and More
“Frankenstein” Sneak Peek Teaser: Guillermo del Toro Reanimates Mary Shelley’s Gothic Horror Classic with Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's Monster – Premiering on Netflix This November
Since its early days of producing original feature films, Netflix has been chasing that elusive Oscar trophy, aiming to earn respect as a studio with a Best Picture win under its belt. They've come close many times before, only to watch other streaming platforms and arthouse studios walk away with the gold. It makes you wonder: what the hell do they have to do to finally take home the top prize? Well, maybe the easiest answer is this: just greenlight whatever Guillermo del Toro is doing next. And with that, Netflix just might have another winner on their hands.
After earning an Oscar for Best Animated Feature for his 2023 stop-motion wonder Pinocchio with Netflix’s backing, Guillermo del Toro reunites with the streaming giant for what might be the studio’s best shot at dominating awards season this year. Like Pinocchio, del Toro delivers yet another passion project that blends fantasy horror with Gothic overtones. It's a remake of a classic film that he has held in high regard for decades, based on a legendary novel he’s long dreamed of adapting. And in many ways, Pinocchio shares the same themes: a man’s creation gone rogue and not fully understanding that reanimated life can bring both elation and pain.
Feast your eyes on the first peek at Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.
Based on Mary Shelley’s iconic tale, del Toro breathes new, terrifying life into the classic Gothic horror story. This time, Oscar Isaac stars as Victor Frankenstein, a genius with a god complex and some seriously questionable lab ethics. When he stitches together the ultimate science experiment, he accidentally creates a tragic monster (played here by Jacob Elordi) who’s big, brooding, and not exactly thrilled to be brought back without a user manual. We’ve seen many iterations before, but never with this level of elegance, pathos, and unmistakable del Toro flair, complete with exquisite period costumes and finely detailed special effects and practical creature designs.
With Mia Goth as the doomed Elizabeth, Christoph Waltz as a delightfully devious Dr. Pretorius, and a supporting cast that includes Charles Dance, Ralph Ineson, Felix Kammerer, and David Bradley—and of course, with del Toro at the helm as both writer and director—this new adaptation of Frankenstein just might boast enough talent to reanimate even the most skeptical viewer.
Dropping on Netflix this November, Frankenstein is going to make you wish all monster movies had this much soul stitched into them.
“Stranger Things 5” Sneak-Peek Teaser: Final Season Unleashes New Nightmares and One Last Battle for Hawkins – Volume 1 Arrives November 26 on Netflix, Followed by Christmas Day and a New Year’s Eve Finale
Would you believe it’s been nearly a decade since Stranger Things burst onto the scene and blew our collective minds? When the show first premiered in July 2016, Netflix was still finding its footing in the entertainment space—experimenting with original content and hoping for a breakout hit. What they got instead was a full-blown cultural phenomenon, blending ‘80s nostalgia, Stephen King-style horror, Dungeons & Dragons lore, and Spielbergian wonder. And it was all wrapped in a small-town mystery with a demogorgon-sized heart.
Now, nine years later, Netflix has become the pop culture powerhouse it always aspired to be—thanks in no small part to the runaway success of Stranger Things. The show didn’t just redefine what a streaming series could achieve; it helped cement Netflix’s identity as a serious Hollywood player. It also brought ‘80s icon Winona Ryder back into our lives, turned David Harbour into a leading man with a dad bod, and launched the careers of Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Joseph Quinn, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and others.
But nothing lasts forever. Every story has to end sometime. So cue the '80s synths, crank up the nostalgia, and prepare for one final trip back to Hawkins. Because Stranger Things is gearing up for its epic conclusion this year... and we finally know when: November, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. So let’s party like it’s 1999! Or... whatever year this final season takes place in—late '80s? Early '90s?
Check out the new teaser for Season 5 of Stranger Things, which will complete the journeys of Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Nancy, Steve, Robin, Erica, Murray, Karen, Hopper, and Joyce.
While plot details remain under wraps, here’s what we do know: The gang is back: Winona Ryder’s fierce mom instincts, David Harbour’s gruff charm, Millie Bobby Brown’s iconic nosebleeds, and yes, Joe Keery’s glorious hair. Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) returns too—still creepy, still slimy, and still hell-bent on turning the real world into his personal hellscape.
Adding fuel to the hype? Terminator legend Linda Hamilton joins the cast—because nothing says “we mean business” like Sarah Connor showing up to clean house. And here’s a juicy one: Oscar-nominated horror master Frank Darabont (The Mist, The Shawshank Redemption) is directing two feature-length episodes. Translation? Expect some serious dread... and maybe a few devastating deaths.
Stranger Things 5 will be released in three volumes: Volume One drops Wednesday, November 26th; Volume Two arrives on Christmas Day; and it all wraps up with Volume Three on New Year’s Eve. Ring in 2026 with monsters, mayhem, and pure ‘80s emotion. Grab your walkie, stock up on Eggos, and don’t blink—because this might be the end of the Upside Down... or not.
“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” Teaser: Daniel Craig Returns as Master Sleuth Benoit Blanc in Rian Johnson's New Church-Set Whodunit Installment – Hitting Netflix in December
When Daniel Craig is dressed to the nines and looking quite puzzled, that can only mean one thing: Benoit Blanc is back on the case. And someone, somewhere, is about to regret ever crossing paths with this stylish detective, whose wits are as sharp as his Southern drawl.
Craig returns for the third installment of writer-director Rian Johnson's highly successful Knives Out film series, which pays loving homage to classic Agatha Christie whodunits. Only instead of Belgian detective Hercule Poirot at the center of the mystery, we get the Southern-fried sleuth Benoit Blanc—a spiffy private investigator with a nose for nonsense, a penchant for flowery metaphors, and an uncanny ability to untangle even the most knotted murder plots with charm, wit, and the occasional side-eye.
First, Benoit Blanc uncovered the murder plot of a family of scheming rich folks. Then he exposed the real motives of a delusional tech mogul with more money than sense. Now he’s tackling his most dangerous case yet—one that leads him to the steps of a church, where he just might be walking straight into his own funeral.
Check out the first official teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, marking the third outing for Daniel Craig as the delectably dapper detective. Once again, Blanc finds himself surrounded by a body count that’s only going to rise until he cracks the case wide open.
The biggest difference in this chapter, setting it apart from previous installments, is the church backdrop—where themes of religion appear to play a major role in the unfolding mystery. Will Benoit Blanc find religion? More likely, he’ll uncover something else entirely… like a holy mess of sins, secrets, and suspects.
And speaking of suspects, there’s a killer cast in play: Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. From the looks of things, you should trust no one, suspect everyone, and prepare for one hell of a whodunit.
Wake Up Dead Man is aiming to out-clue, out-charm, and out-kill its predecessors with a mystery so twisted and devilishly layered, it might just be Benoit Blanc’s most unholy case yet. There’s no official release date, but it’s expected to arrive later this year on Netflix. Scratch that, the film will be released on December 12th, on Netflix.
So you’ve got just enough time to rewatch the first two mysteries and prepare for another twist-filled case—where the only sure thing is that everyone’s hiding something… and not even God can help you if Benoit Blanc finds a thread to pull.
“Happy Gilmore 2” Trailer: Adam Sandler Tees Off Again in Long-Awaited Sequel Featuring Bad Bunny, Julie Bowen and the Return of Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) – Premiering on Netflix July 25th
Everyone loves a good comeback story—especially when it involves a fading star reclaiming the spotlight. And everyone loves a good underdog tale, particularly when it means watching someone rise from the sidelines to prove they’ve got more grit, heart, and talent than anyone gave them credit for. Adam Sandler proved a movie can hold both of those truths with his classic '90s sports comedy Happy Gilmore. He also proved that audiences will root for a loudmouth with anger issues—as long as he’s got a wicked golf swing, a good heart, and just enough charm to punch his way into ours.
Well, it’s been 30 years since Happy Gilmore first showed the golf world what a hockey slapshot could do to a tiny white ball. Now, the king of the tee box is dusting off his clubs and heading back to the green in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to the film that helped Sandler cement his status as a comedy icon and movie star.
In this sequel, set to premiere on Netflix this summer, Sandler returns as the hot-tempered, crowd-pleasing golf rebel who traded rage for family life—until destiny pulls him out of retirement. Julie Bowen is also back as Virginia Venit, and yes, they’re still happily together, proving that true love is stronger than a double bogey.
It seems Happy is now a family man with children, and life has changed considerably... like having to cover tuition for his daughter’s ballet school. With no other option, Happy decides to give golfing another shot. He’s done it before—won big cash prizes, crushed the competition—so why not again? Oops! Turns out he’s a little rusty. And time hasn’t exactly been kind to his swing, his temper, or his knees.
Now Happy sets out to make the comeback of his life, with help from his new caddie—a former waiter played by rapper Bad Bunny. And of course, he’s got the love of his life by his side and the unwavering support of his kids cheering him on. Now Happy just has to find his happy place again to turn things around and prove, once more, that with enough heart (and a wicked slapshot), even the most unlikely golfer can drive his way back to the top.
Directed by Workaholics co-creator Kyle Newacheck, the sequel brings back fan favorite Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin—still smug, still bitter, and still not over that loss. Expect surprise cameos from golf legends (John Daly, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau), celeb fans (NFL star Travis Kelce, model Paige Spiranac, sportscaster Dan Patrick), big-name guest stars (Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, Scott Mescudi, Ben Stiller), and the extended Sandlerverse (Nick Swardson, Allen Covert, Blake Clark, and of course, Jackie, Sadie, and Sunny Sandler).
Happy Gilmore 2 is set to swing hard, play dirty, and drive your nostalgia straight down the fairway when it premieres July 25th on Netflix.
“Squid Game: Season 3 (Final Season)” Trailer: The Game Ends Here as Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) Returns for One Last Deadly Round – Premieres June 27th on Netflix
After the massive success of Squid Game, fans had to wait three long years for a second season. And at times, that wait felt almost as excruciating as the tension the players endured between rounds of those deadly games. Thankfully, the gap between Season 2 and Season 3 is much shorter, just six months.
Sadly, though, Season 3 marks the end of the line. And once again, it’s excruciating... but this time in a more bittersweet way.
Returning later this month, Squid Game: Season 3 brings us one last, lethal round. And if you thought the previous seasons were brutal... just wait. This final chapter isn’t pulling any punches. Or knives. Or marbles.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk returns to orchestrate the grand, blood-soaked finale to his global phenomenon—a series that didn’t just dominate Netflix in the U.S., but helped redefine what a global hit could be. Squid Game shattered records as one of the most-watched foreign-language series ever, opening the floodgates for bold international stories to thrive among English-speaking audiences.
Now, Netflix has fully embraced its role as a platform for daring, boundary-pushing foreign series, where subtitles are no longer a barrier... they’re now an invitation. And it’s all thanks to the trail Squid Game blazed.
That said, with the show coming to an end, filling the void it leaves behind won’t be easy. Few series have captured the world’s imagination quite like this one, balancing razor-sharp social commentary with pulse-pounding thrills.
Picking up immediately after Season 2’s jaw-dropping cliffhanger, Gi-hun aka Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae) returns—and this time, he’s not just playing to survive... he’s aiming to take the whole system down. But the game has evolved. And so have the rules.
With betrayal still fresh and bodies still falling, the final season promises new players, bigger twists, and even more elaborate challenges. It’s the same game—just deadlier, darker, and more emotionally devastating. Fun, right?
If Season 1 was a gut punch and Season 2 a moral minefield, then Season 3 is the final boss fight.
Squid Game: Season 3 premieres Friday, June 27th on Netflix. Dare to press play… and prepare for white-knuckle nights of suspense, shock, and a finale you likely won’t soon forget.
“Wednesday: Season 2” Sneak Peek: First 6 Minutes: Watch Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as She Hunts Down a Porcelain Doll–Obsessed Killer Before Returning to Nevermore – Part One Drops August 6, Part Two on September 3 on Netflix
Wednesday Addams is enjoying a fruitful summer. That is, if you consider sharpening her psychic abilities and tracking down an elusive serial killer the kind of summer break most teen girls dream of. Then again, Wednesday was never like most teen girls. Far from it. She might only be a teenager, but she can outwit and outlast a sadistic killer, all while being tied up, delivering deadpan one-liners, and plotting her next move with eerie precision.
Catch up with what Wednesday Addams (played once again by Jenna Ortega) has been up to during her school break before she heads back for her second year at Nevermore Academy in this new sneak peek for Season 2 of Wednesday. The footage showcases the first six minutes of the new season, where Wednesday comes face to face with a greasy-looking, porcelain doll-obsessed serial killer she's been hunting ever since honing her psychic gifts. Haley Joel Osment plays the long-haired murderer with a sinister stare. He’s no match for Wednesday, however.
Part One of Wednesday: Season 2 is set to drop on Wednesday, August 6th, followed by Part Two on Wednesday, September 3rd.
“One Piece: Season 2” Sneak Peeks – Here's the First Look at Reindeer-Human Hybrid Tony Tony Chopper in Netflix’s Live-Action Adventure, Premiering 2026
Ever since Netflix made a push into anime, they’ve been somewhat hit-or-miss when it comes to choosing which projects to adapt, and how to bring them to life. However, One Piece, the live-action adaptation of the mega-popular anime and manga franchise, has been surprisingly well-received, managing to win over both longtime fans and newcomers alike with its colorful characters, faithful spirit, and swashbuckling sense of adventure.
So it’s no surprise that Season 2 has been building serious anticipation, even though it's not set to arrive until next year. In the meantime, Netflix is teasing fans with sneak peeks, including this first look at Tony Tony Chopper, a fan-favorite character from the franchise who will be making his debut in Season 2.
Chopper is a small, human-reindeer hybrid who joins the Straw Hat Pirates, led by the young, stretchy sea pirate Monkey D. Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy). In the Netflix series, Chopper will be voiced by actress Mikaela Hoover, who will soon appear as Cat Grant in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie. Hoover also provides the facial capture performance for Chopper.
Season 1 of One Piece is now available to stream on Netflix, while its eagerly anticipated second season is set to premiere in 2026. Check out the promos above.
“The Thursday Murder Club” Teaser: Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie Try to Solve Cold Cases with British Wit and Wisdom in this New Whodunit From Director Chris Columbus – Premiering August 28th on Netflix
Sometimes the best people to solve a murder aren’t the youngest, but those with the most life experience... the ones who’ve seen all that life can offer, and all that it can cruelly take away. And when they gather together into a club, say on Thursday nights—well, that’s when things really start to get interesting. Because wisdom, wit, and a touch of mischief just might be the perfect tools for cracking an unsolved case.
Welcome to The Thursday Murder Club, a new darkly comic murder-mystery that brings together four charming retirees as they put their heads together to take a stab at solving cold cases. Not because it’s their job. But because they’ve made solving murders into their weekly hobby.
Based on Richard Osman’s bestselling whodunit of the same name, the Netflix original film features four British powerhouses, including Helen Mirren (as ex-spy Elizabeth), Pierce Brosnan (as ex–union delegate Ron), Ben Kingsley (as ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim), and Celia Imrie (as ex-nurse Joyce). Together, they form The Thursday Murder Club—a weekly gathering where these four amateur sleuths try to crack unsolved crimes in their quiet retirement village. But when a fresh body drops right in their backyard, it’s time to swap biscuits and tea for trench coats and a magnifying glass.
A co-production between Netflix and Amblin, the film is directed by veteran filmmaker Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire), working from an adapted screenplay by Katy Brand (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Suzanne Heathcote (Killing Eve).
Joining Mirren, Brosnan, Kingsley, and Imrie is a strong supporting ensemble of British talents, including Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Paul Freeman, David Tennant, Naomi Ackie, Jonathan Pryce, and Richard E. Grant, among others.
Premiering Thursday, August 28th on Netflix, this might be the one club meeting you’ll want to RSVP for.
