⇩ NEW MOVIE TRAILERS:
Some franchises fade with age, but for the Predator—it only gets more animated!
Predator: Killer of Killers — Trailer
(on Hulu June 6th)
Some believe intelligent aliens would be peaceful explorers, but the Predator franchise teaches us otherwise: any alien arriving on Earth is here to hunt. Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg understood what made Predator films so darn entertaining: it’s the thrill of the hunt and humanity's vulnerability to the unknown that are at the core of the franchise. After Prey revitalized the series with a 1700s-set tale of a young Comanche female warrior up against all odds, Trachtenberg is returning with not one but two new Predator projects.
Set to arrive in theaters this November, Predator: Badlands is yet another standalone film in this sci-fi horror franchise from Trachtenberg, where Elle Fanning stars as someone who will team up with the Predator itself—a fresh twist on the classic formula.
But before that, Hulu is set to premiere Predator: Killer of Killers this summer. Also directed by Trachtenberg and based on his story idea with screenwriter Micho Robert Rutare, with The Third Floor VFX animator Joshua Wassung co-directing, this action-packed and violently gory animated anthology explores three different historical periods—Vikings, feudal Japan, and WWII—each involving a Predator wreaking havoc. These stories promise to expand the franchise's lore in exciting ways, potentially tying into Badlands. Fans, however, will have to wait and see if the two projects connect. Predator: Killer of Killers hits Hulu June 6th.
It’s Wes Anderson at his most Wes Anderson-y!
The Phoenician Scheme — Trailer
(in theaters May 30th)
Wes Anderson is back, and it’s business as usual—quirky, eccentric, and looking like it stepped out of a vintage postcard. With The Phoenician Scheme, his 13th feature film (if you count The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More) and his third in nearly consecutive years, Anderson is hitting his rhythm, proving once again that his distinctive blend of deadpan humor, symmetrical visuals, and star-studded ensembles is something only he can deliver.
Oscar-winner Benicio del Toro stars as Zsa-zsa Korda, a wealthy aviation tycoon whose obsession with planes has somehow kept him on the ground longer than he’d like. After surviving yet another near-death plane crash, he decides it’s time to choose which of his ten children will inherit his fortune. Enter his daughter Liesl—a nun who’s devoted her life to, well, being a nun. Naturally, Zsa-zsa’s plan is to convince her to ditch the holy vows and help him build his personal utopia in the desert. What could go wrong? Spoiler: a whole lot, especially when radical militias are involved.
Rising star Mia Threapleton (daughter of Kate Winslet), in the role of Liesl, leads a star-studded cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Wright, Richard Ayoade, Riz Ahmed, Bill Murray, and many more, all gathered to bring this whimsical disaster to life.
Written and directed by Anderson, with a script co-penned with frequent collaborator Roman Coppola, and captured through the lens of acclaimed French cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel (who also shot Amélie, Inside Llewyn Davis, and The Tragedy of Macbeth), The Phoenician Scheme promises the quirky charm and absurdity we’ve come to expect. Catch the film when it lands in theaters on May 30th—’cause if anyone can make a utopia in a war-torn desert look like a madcap dream, it’s Wes Anderson.
Ethan’s final mission might be truly impossible—unless we can 'trust him... one last time' to pull off the unthinkable.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning — Trailer
(in theaters May 23rd)
He’s scaled cliffs, dangled from planes, and raced motorcycles off mountains—but now, Tom Cruise is staring down his most impossible mission yet: the end.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning marks the eighth (and possibly final) outing for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, the unstoppable superspy who’s spent nearly three decades saving the world with style, grit, and gravity-defying stunts. Teaming up once again with director Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise is going all-in for what could be Hunt’s swan song—though let’s be honest, would anyone be surprised if he kept doing these into his 80s?
Picking up where Dead Reckoning left off, this chapter finds Ethan going head-to-head with the Entity, a self-aware AI that’s out-calculating every move before he makes it. It’s brain vs. brawn vs. Cruise’s unmatched charisma. And with the stakes dialed to global meltdown, Hunt might need more than a parachute and a prayer to pull this one off.
With returning favorites Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and more, The Final Reckoning is set to be the high-octane, high-emotion finale fans have been bracing for.
Catch it in theaters May 23. Because if this is the end, Cruise is going out with a bang—and probably a backflip off a burning train.
In a world of crime and corruption, the only thing more lethal than bullets is the truth—if you can survive long enough to uncover it.
Havoc — Trailer
(on Netflix April 25th)
Tom Hardy’s latest action-packed crime thriller might just be too violent for theaters—good thing it’s got the freedom to go full batcrap crazy on Netflix!
Havoc is the latest blood-soaked crime thriller coming to the streaming giant platform, and if it hit theaters, it might need a serious trim to avoid an NC-17 rating. Directed by Gareth Evans, the mastermind behind The Raid series, this movie promises to unleash a level of ultraviolence that you won’t find in your average blockbuster.
Tom Hardy stars as Walker, a big-city detective with a morally murky past, diving headfirst into a gritty underworld of criminals, corrupt cops, and mobsters. When a politician’s son gets caught in a turf war, Walker is racing against time to save him—while making some very questionable decisions along the way. With corruption around every corner and bullets flying by the dozen, Walker finds himself on a blood-soaked mission with a mounting body count and a conspiracy to untangle.
With a cast that includes Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker, Havoc is packed with intense, bone-crushing action, and gun battles that’ll have you clutching your couch cushions. And thanks to Netflix’s no-theatrical-ratings-needed model, director Gareth Evans pulls no punches—literally. Catch the mayhem when Havoc drops on Netflix April 25th.
A late-night emergency phone call can only mean one thing for a parent: you’re going to be in for a night of pure panic!
Hallow Road — Trailer
(Coming Soon, Summer)
Every parent dreads the late-night phone call from their child—the one that starts with “I need help, fast” and ends with your heart in your throat.
Hallow Road, the new real-time thriller from director Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow, Wounds), takes that fear and drives it straight into nightmare territory. Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys star as a couple jolted awake by a panicked call from their daughter, claiming she’s hit someone on a desolate country road near a dark forest—and that the body isn’t moving.
As the parents race through the night to reach her, the tension ratchets with every mile, every breathless update, and every morally murky decision. Should they call the police? Hide the evidence? What begins as damage control soon spirals into something stranger, darker, and far more terrifying than anyone expected. Because maybe it wasn’t someone she hit… maybe it was something.
Premiering to rave reviews at SXSW and drawing comparisons to Locke, which also mostly took place inside a car ride, Hallow Road is a pulse-pounding blend of psychological dread and creeping supernatural horror. It hits theaters in the UK and Ireland on May 16 via Universal, with a U.S. release expected this summer. So, buckle up and strap in, ‘cuz this is one car ride you won’t soon forget.
Nothing can beat a homemade meal from Grandma. But a dish made by four grandmothers? Well, you're just asking for trouble.
NONNAS — Trailer
(on Netflix May 9th)
Vince Vaughn stars in this heartfelt Netflix comedy NONNAS as an amateur restaurateur who hires a team of four opinionated Italian grandmothers to run his kitchen, hoping to honor his late mother’s legacy with a cozy, authentic eatery. What he gets instead? A food fight of personalities, egos, and generations-old recipes—all with extra garlic and spicy backtalk.
Inspired by the true story of Brooklyn MTA worker Joe Scaravella who opened his own Italian restaurant in honor of his “nonna,” the Netflix film features an all-star lineup of screen legends, including Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Brenda Vaccaro, and Talia Shire—as the grandmothers, each one convinced her way is the only way.
Directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and co-starring Joe Manganiello, Linda Cardellini, and Drea de Matteo, this one’s serving up comfort food, culture clashes, and comedy in equal measure.
NONNAS starts cooking on Netflix May 9. Come for the pasta, stay for the sass.

⇩ NEW TELEVISION TRAILERS:
Good rule of thumb: never trust a robot who has murder on its mind—especially when it’d rather binge-watch TV than do its job.
Murderbot — Trailer
(on Apple TV+ May 16th)
Move over, Robocop—there’s a new metal menace in town, and he’d rather binge reality TV and daytime soaps than save your life.
Murderbot, Apple TV+’s sharp, darkly funny sci-fi series, stars Alexander Skarsgård as a rogue security droid who’s had enough of protecting dumb humans. Based on Martha Wells’ bestselling The Murderbot Diaries, the series follows a crew of scientists on a dangerous alien world… and the disgruntled bot assigned to keep them alive. Emphasis on assigned. Whether he actually wants to is a whole other issue.
Directed by brothers Chris and Paul Weitz (About a Boy, American Pie), Murderbot walks the fine line between dystopian thrills and deadpan satire. With a cast including David Dastmalchian, Noma Dumezweni, and Sabrina Wu, and visuals that channel the retro-futuristic vibes of classic '80s sci-fi, this show just might be the Robocop revival you never knew you needed.
Murderbot premieres May 16 on Apple TV+. So sit back, press play… and hope he doesn’t snap before the next episode.

WondLa: Season 2 — Trailer
(on Apple TV+ April 25th)
Skydance Animation is still searching for its breakout hit, and WondLa might just be its best shot.
Returning for Season 2 on April 25, WondLa continues the sci-fi saga of Eva (voiced by Jeanine Mason), a human girl raised underground by a caretaker robot who discovers a world full of aliens, secrets, and... a suspiciously Pixar-esque polish. Based on Tony DiTerlizzi’s novel series The Search for WondLa, the show follows Eva into the gleaming metropolis of New Attica, where humanity survives—but at a price. Its power-hungry leader, Cadmus Pryde (Alan Tudyk), sees Eva as the key to total control.
The voice cast also features Teri Hatcher, Brad Garrett, and Gary Anthony Williams, and while the visuals shine, the jury’s still out on whether WondLa has the storytelling spark to break free from the long Pixar shadow Skydance can’t seem to shake.
With former Pixar honcho John Lasseter overseeing the studio, expectations are sky-high. But will WondLa finally help Skydance chart its own animated identity? Or is it just another slick-looking series missing that elusive magic? Season 2 might be the moment of truth.

Ryan Coogler Breaks Down the Beauty of Aspect Ratios and Shooting IMAX with Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw – Watch the Videos
There’s nothing better than discovering that a filmmaker you admire also geeks out over things you’d geek out about too—like aspect ratios! That’s right, Aspect Ratios are dope—we said it. Well, Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler, who is currently promoting his latest film Sinners (out on April 18), has done a couple of videos explaining the various film formats for Kodak and what it was like shooting his first film on IMAX.
Watch Coogler as he gives a master class on defining the use of each type of film format and how it correlates with the various aspect ratios. Trust us, it’s not geeky at all. Coogler also sits down with his cinematographer, Autumn Durald Arkapaw, for a discussion on shooting IMAX for the first time. Autumn, the first female cinematographer to shoot with IMAX, even takes on handheld shots despite the hefty weight of those cameras. It’s a fascinating conversation.
