🎥 Ella McCay — New Trailer
(in theaters Dec 12th)
After a decade and a half away from the director’s chair, Oscar-winning filmmaker and Emmy-winning producer James L. Brooks (Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, As Good as It Gets, The Simpsons, Taxi) returns with Ella McCay, a warm, old-school dramedy that reminds us why his brand of heart and humor never went out of style.
Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie) stars as a newly elected governor juggling her messy family, public image, and personal ideals while trying to do right by everyone—something no politician has ever quite mastered. With Woody Harrelson as her estranged father, Jamie Lee Curtis as her meddling, yet kind-hearted aunt, and Albert Brooks as the outgoing governor who believes in her potential, the film promises warmth, wit, and that classic Brooks blend of chaos and compassion.
With Jack Lowden, Julie Kavner, Ayo Edebiri, Kumail Nanjiani, and Rebecca Hall rounding out the cast, Ella McCay is due to land in theaters December 12th — a nostalgic, feel-good reminder that sincerity never goes out of style.
