★ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Behind-the-Scenes - First Day on the Set: Tom Holland Swings Into Action in Destin Daniel Cretton’s New Sony/MCU Installment — In Theaters July 31, 2026
If you haven’t heard by now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially in production. The highly anticipated superhero installment sees Tom Holland back as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, this time under the direction of Shang-Chi helmer Destin Daniel Cretton. The film is said to be the first of a new Spider-Man trilogy with Holland in the lead.
Following the events of 2021’s No Way Home, Peter Parker is starting over, less known, stripped of Stark Corp’s high-tech gadgets, and erased from everyone’s memories. He’s likely rebuilding from the ground up, redefining both his life as Peter Parker and his role as Spider-Man.
And while debate continues over the MCU’s long-term box office dominance, especially with recent signs of decline, the makers of Brand New Day aren’t wasting any time generating buzz. They’ve already kicked off the promotional campaign, releasing behind-the-scenes footage from the movie’s first day on set. The clip shows Holland stepping back into the suit, ready to swing into a brand-new chapter for the web-slinger.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to open in theaters July 31, 2026.
★ “Traumatika” Trailer: Demonic Possession, Child Abductions, and Basement Horrors Collide in Pierre Tsigaridis’ Nerve-Shredding Horror Thriller — Hitting Theaters September 12th
This new horror thriller makes a bold grab for your nerves, claiming to be “not a movie you watch, but a movie you survive.” With such a brazen promise, it dares viewers to experience a horror film that seems intended to scare the living daylights out of them. Now, is that a challenge you’re willing to accept—or perhaps a nightmare you’re better off avoiding altogether?
Traumatika (appropriately titled) is a new supernatural thriller “not for the faint of heart,” as it aims straight for the jugular. Expect plenty of jump scares and relentless dread, with shocks that keep coming long after you think you’re safe. Well, that’s what the film promises, anyway. If it doesn’t deliver those bone-rattling scares, it might just leave audiences more annoyed than afraid. Still, the subject matter alone is enough to send chills down your spine, delving into child abductions, demonic possession... and a certain something in the basement. And let’s be honest, bloodstained basements rarely mean good news.
Starring Rebekah Kennedy, Emily Goss, Ranen Navat, AJ Bowen, Sean O’Bryan, Susan Gayle Watts, and Sean Whalen, the film centers on a young boy whose night terrors turn terrifyingly real when his mother begins showing signs of demonic possession, unleashing a horror that is out claim countless souls.
Horror filmmaker Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches) directs and co-writes this upcoming indie, which might turn out to be one of the most unsettling low-budget shockers of the year.
Traumatika is coming to theaters September 12th. Have your popcorn ready... and maybe a change of underwear, just to be on the safe side.
★ “Pools” Trailer: Odessa A’zion Leads a Midnight Pool-Hopping Summer of Mischief, Grief, and Self-Discovery in New Indie Drama with Ariel Winter, Mason Gooding, and Tyler Alvarez — In Select Theaters August 22nd and Nationwide September 5th
It’s summer, and the heat’s relentless. Sometimes the only cure is a late-night pool dip—the kind where cool water erases the day, and the ripples feel like they’re washing away more than just sweat.
Pools, a new coming-of-age indie film marking the feature debut of writer-director Sam Hayes, imagines a summer where fun means chasing mischief, dodging consequences, and maybe finding yourself in the process.
Odessa A’zion, recently seen in the video game-based horror film Until Dawn and daughter of actress Pamela Adlon (yes, the resemblance is uncanny), takes on the lead role of Kennedy—a free-spirited, pool-hopping maverick determined to squeeze every drop of fun out of summer before life’s heavier realities come crashing in.
After the death of her father and one final warning from school, Kennedy (A’zion) blows off her last chance to get her act together by rallying a ragtag group of friends for a midnight pool-hopping spree through the lavish estates of her college town. She soon discovers that beneath the cannonballs and dead-end dunks lies a deeper plunge into grief, insecurities, and self-discovery.
Also starring Ariel Winter, Mason Gooding, Tyler Alvarez, Michael Vlamis, Francesca Noel, and Suzanne Cryer, Pools will be making a splash in select theaters later this month—starting in Chicago on August 22nd, New York and LA on August 29th, and nationwide on September 5th.
★ “Griffin in Summer” Trailer: Everett Blunck, Melanie Lynskey, and Owen Teague Star in This Quirky Coming-of-Age Comedy About a Teenage Playwright’s Unlikely Muse — In Theaters August 29th
Inspiration can come from anywhere. But for a nerdy kid who’d rather spend the summer writing plays than riding his bike, it arrives from the last place he ever expected… his handyman.
In the upcoming indie comedy Griffin in Summer, newcomer Everett Blunck takes on the title role of Griffin, a fiercely ambitious playwright—at least in his own mind—and at just fourteen, he’s certain his magnum opus is only a summer away. But when his mom (played by Yellowjackets star Melanie Lynskey) hires a brooding 25-year-old handyman (Owen Teague, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Griffin’s world—and his latest script—take an unexpected, hilariously inspired turn.
Written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Nicholas Colia and co-starring Abby Ryder Fortson and Kathryn Newton, Griffin in Summer promises a light-hearted coming-of-age comedy where the most unlikely influences can spark the best stories. And it doesn’t hurt that Griffin’s new muse can haul a couch across the floor with ease—especially handy when you’re transforming the family basement into a makeshift stage for your next great theatrical masterpiece.
Griffin in Summer is slated to premiere in theaters August 29th. Expect a quirky dose of nerdy ambition—and, unexpectedly, a dark play about how innocent summer love can spiral into a “black hole of betrayal and despair.” Sounds like one summer Griffin won’t soon forget.
★ “Regretting You” Trailer: Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, Allison Williams, Dave Franco Star in Josh Boone’s Adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Emotional Drama About Betrayal, Family, and Forgiveness — In Theaters October 24th
Life has a funny way of throwing you a curveball when you’re not looking. Hell, sometimes it comes just when you’re starting to think you’ve got the game figured out. But when the chips are down and you need some space to figure things out, life has a funny way of leading you back to exactly where you need to go.
It Ends with Us author Colleen Hoover seems to have played with this very idea in her best-selling book Regretting You, which has just been adapted for the big screen. And, as one might expect, there’s plenty of heartache, family tragedy, betrayal, innocent love, and romance woven through its story.
Directed by Josh Boone, the filmmaker behind the hit The Fault in Our Stars, and adapted for the screen by Susan McMartin, the upcoming film features a stacked cast that includes Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald.
When a devastating car accident exposes a shocking betrayal, Morgan Grant (Allison Williams) and her teenage daughter Clara (Mckenna Grace) must navigate buried family secrets, fractured trust, and the messy path toward healing—learning that when life pulls you down, love can lift you up.
While reeling from the untimely deaths of her aunt (Willa Fitzgerald) and her father (Scott Eastwood)—who may have been having an affair at the time of the crash—Clara seeks solace in an unexpected friendship with a local boy (Mason Thames) that begins to blur the lines between comfort and something deeper. Meanwhile, Clara’s mother (Williams) and uncle (Dave Franco) are left to pick up the emotional pieces, confronting their own tangled history while trying to protect what’s left of the family.
Regretting You is coming to theaters October 24th. Maybe bring some tissues. But skip the carpool, ‘cuz the ride home might be a little too heavy for small talk.
