đ„ âSISU: Road to Revengeâ Trailer: Jorma Tommila Returns as the Indestructible WWII Commando in Jalmari Helanderâs Blood-Soaked Action Sequel with Stephen Lang and Richard Brake â In Theaters November 21st
You canât keep a good Finn down. Especially when thereâs still fire in his belly and the bitter taste of vengeance clenched between his teeth. The man, the myth, the legendâheâs back, and this time heâs set to unleash the kind of fury that makes the toughest of men tremble in fear and the bravest wish theyâd never crossed his path.
When SISU, the genre-bending Finnish WWII action romp, hit theaters in 2022, it was instantly compared to John Wick, as both films share a similar brand of carnage and mayhem. And it also shares the idea of a man driven by loss and vengeance, cutting down anyone foolish enough to stand in his way. SISU instantly became a cult hit, and a favorite among action junkies and genre fans who craved its mix of grit, gore, and grindhouse flair.
Well, it seems the man who refuses to die is backâand this time, the fight is bigger, bloodier, and somehow even more gloriously absurd.
In SISU: Road to Revenge, Finnish actor Jorma Tommila reprises his role as Aatami Korpi, the legendary WWII commando who once slaughtered a platoon of Nazis to protect his gold. Now, he returns home to the site of his familyâs wartime massacre, determined to rebuild whatâs left in their honor.
But fate has other plans. Enter Stephen Lang (Donât Breathe, Avatar) as a ruthless Red Army captain with unfinished business. When he crosses Aatamiâs path, what follows is a relentless, cross-country showdown brimming with outrageous, inventive action set pieces. Expect trucks flipping, bodies flying, and more brutal ingenuity than your average war epic could dream of. Itâs pure pandemoniumâand there will only be one man left standing before the dust settles.
Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander (Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, Big Game) once again writes and directs, bringing his signature mix of grit and gonzo spectacle. Alongside Tommila and Lang, the cast features veteran genre favorite Richard Brake (3 from Hell, Barbarian), rounding out the roguesâ gallery of Russian soldiers daring to stand in Aatamiâs way.
SISU: Road to Revenge will make its world premiere this September at Fantastic Fest before hitting theaters November 21st.
đ„ âDeathstalkerâ Trailer: Daniel Bernhardt Wields the Sword in Psycho Goreman Director Steven Kostanskiâs Retro Camp Fantasy Remake â In Theaters October 10th
Fans of 1980s sword-and-sorcery flicks, rejoice! This is a throwback you wonât want to miss.
Among the many titles that once filled the shelves of your local video storeâusually under the fantasy sectionâyouâve no doubt stumbled across Boris Vallejoâs iconic poster for Deathstalker, a gloriously cheesy, low-budget sword-and-sorcery adventure thatâs probably better remembered for its eye-catching VHS cover than for the film itself.
Well, prepare to dust off those old VHS memories, âcuz Deathstalker is back from the grave. And for a movie that may have been buried in the shuffle of Conan the Barbarian knockoffs and bargain-bin fantasy epics, this cult classic is sharpening its blade and ready to swing once more.
In the upcoming remake, the Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. When the warrior known only as Deathstalker stumbles upon a cursed amulet on a corpse-strewn battlefield, heâs instantly marked by dark magic. Hunted by monstrous assassins, he must break the curse and confront a rising evil that refuses to stay buried. Death, after all, is just the beginning... of one hell of an adventure.
Stuntman-turned-actor Daniel Bernhardt (Nobody, Ballerina, Extraction 2) takes up the mantle as the new Deathstalker. He is joined by a supporting cast that includes Patton Oswalt, Laurie Field, Christina Orjalo, Paul Lazenby, and Nina Bergman.
Filmmaker Steven Kostanski (PG: Psycho Goreman, Manborg, Frankie Freako) writes and directs, leaning into his trademark blend of retro camp, lo-fi special effects, and gory spectacleâreviving the gonzo energy of â80s VHS fantasy oddities for a modern audience.
And hereâs the killer hook: the film will feature original music by legendary guitarist Slash, working alongside composer Bear McCreary and electronic remixers Blitz//Berlin. Slash not only shreds the soundtrack but also serves as an executive producer, ensuring this revival rocks as hard as it slays.
Once a late-night cable curiosity, Deathstalker now returns with a vengeance. The film charges into theaters October 10th. So grab your sword, crank the volume to 11, and prepare for a fantasy throwdown that takes you back to the wild days of â80s fantasy.
đ„ âBaahubali: The Epicâ Trailer: RRR Filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli Recuts His Two-Part Blockbuster Saga into One Colossal IMAX Experience â In Theaters October 31st
Before S. S. Rajamouli took the world by storm with his Oscar-winning sensation RRR, the visionary Telugu filmmaker was already redefining the meaning of cinematic spectacle. His BÄhubali filmsâ2015âs Baahubali: The Beginning and 2017âs Baahubali 2: The Conclusionâwere larger-than-life period epics brimming with grand battles, jaw-dropping visuals, and timeless mythology. Now, Rajamouliâs franchise is returning in a newly recut form as one colossal event.
Titled Baahubali: The Epic, this combined cut brings both chapters together for the ultimate experience. The story begins when a tribal couple discovers a mysterious child near a roaring waterfall and raises him as their own. As he grows, Sivudu (later revealed as Mahendra Baahubali) feels an irresistible pull beyond the cliffsâtoward the kingdom of Mahishmati, where destiny, rebellion, and bloodline secrets await.
What starts as a quest for love soon spirals into an operatic saga of betrayal, sacrifice, and heroism. To reclaim his fatherâs throne and restore justice to his people, Baahubali must rise against tyranny, wielding not only his strength but the weight of a forgotten legacy.
Blending mythic storytelling with jaw-dropping set pieces, Rajamouliâs two-part saga became the highest-grossing Indian film franchise of its time and paved the way for his international breakthrough. Now audiences can experience it in one seamless cut, in the most immersive format possible.
Baahubali: The Epic thunders into IMAX theaters October 31st.
đ„ âThe Uglyâ Trailer: Train to Busan Director Yeon Sang-ho Trades Zombies for Buried Family Secrets in His TIFF-Premiering Mystery Thriller Starring Park Jeong-min and Kwon Hae-hyo â In Theaters September 26th
Acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is best known for delivering one of the greatest zombie films in recent memory with 2016âs Train to Busan. Since then, the prolific director has teamed up with Netflix on a wide range of genres and formats, from the sci-fi thriller Jung_E (2023) to the mystery thriller Revelations (2025), as well as the supernatural series Hellbound and Parasyte: The Grey. On top of that, he expanded his Train to Busan universe with the animated prequel Seoul Station (2016) and the live-action side-sequel Peninsula (2020). Simply put, Yeon is a one-man movie factory.
Not a filmmaker who takes long breaks, Yeon Sang-ho has jumped right back behind the camera, this time adapting his own 2018 graphic novel, The Ugly. And this one is less about surviving hordes of ghouls, goblins, and zombies, and more about the skeletons families bury to keep their darkest secrets hidden. So, perhaps what it lacks in scares, it more than makes up for in tension, atmosphere, and the kind of unsettling drama that just might cut deeper than any zombie attack.
The Ugly follows Im Dong-hwan (Park Jeong-min), who is shadowing his blind father (Kwon Hae-hyo), a gifted painter, for a documentary crew when his life is suddenly upended by a single phone call: after forty years, his missing motherâs remains have been discovered. The revelation forces Dong-hwan on a harrowing quest to unravel the truth of her disappearance.
As he retraces painful memories and long-suppressed family history, the investigation spirals into an odyssey of grief, guilt, and shocking revelations. The line between personal tragedy and inherited trauma blurs, as secrets buried for decades claw their way back to the surface.
The cast also features Shin Hyun-been, Im Seong-jae, and Han Ji-hyeon alongside Park Jeong-min and Kwon Hae-hyo.
The Ugly is slated to make its world premiere at TIFF before hitting theaters September 26th.

đ„ âUrchinâ UK Trailer: Harris Dickinson Makes His Directorial Debut with Frank Dillaneâs Star-Making Turn in a Gritty London Homeless Drama â In UK Cinemas This October
British actor Harris Dickinson has emerged as one of the best actors of his generation with memorable performances in films such as Babygirl, The Iron Claw, and Triangle of Sadness. Now he steps behind the camera for the first time, making his feature debut as writer-director of Urchin, a slice-of-life drama about a young manâs desperate fight to reclaim a life worth living.
One might assume Dickinson wrote this meaty role for himselfâbut not so. Instead, he passes the spotlight to rising actor Frank Dillane (Fear the Walking Dead, The Essex Serpent, Renegade Nell) in what early reviews suggest could be a breakout, star-making performance.
In this raw and unflinching portrait of life on the margins, Dillane plays Mike, a ârough sleeperâ (UK slang for homeless) scraping by on Londonâs unforgiving streets. Trapped in a cycle of self-destruction, he survives at the very edge of societyâignored by most, brutalized by some, and forever caught between despair and resilience. When a tense encounter lands him in prison, Mike is forced to confront the wreckage of his life.
Upon release, he struggles to rebuild from the ground up: rehab, steady work, reconnection with those he once pushed away. Yet each step forward is weighed down by relapse, stigma, and a city that rarely offers second chances.
With a riveting performance from Dillane and a clear-eyed, empathetic vision from Dickinson, Urchin may prove to be the arthouse gem waiting to be discovered. The film arrives in UK cinemas this October, with a U.S. release date still to be announced.
đ„ âFather Mother Sister Brotherâ Teaser Trailer: Filmmaker Jim Jarmusch Brings Together Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Charlotte Rampling and More in New Wry Family Drama â In U.S. Theaters December 24th via MUBI
Jim Jarmusch has always thrived on the offbeat. Whether turning zombies into deadpan slackers (The Dead Donât Die), vampires into rock ânâ roll junkies (Only Lovers Left Alive), or a lone hitman into a modern-day samurai (Ghost Dog), the New York indie legend has a knack for finding poetry in the peculiar.
With his latest film, Father Mother Sister Brother, Jarmusch returns to a mode that often shows him at his most affectingâquietly observing the daily lives of ordinary people, with all their quirks, humor, and hidden heartbreaks.
The film brings together a remarkable ensemble cast: Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Sarah Greene, Indya Moore, Luka Sabbat, and Françoise Lebrun. Together, they form a fractured family, forced back into each otherâs orbit after years of estrangement. Old resentments simmer, buried wounds resurface, and the elusive possibility of forgiveness lingers in the air as they reckon with the ghosts of their shared family past.
Blending Jarmuschâs signature minimalism with wry humor and an undercurrent of melancholy, Father Mother Sister Brother promises to be a soulful ensemble piece about the push and pull of family tiesâequal parts tender, awkward, and bittersweet.
The film is set to open in U.S. theaters December 24th, via MUBI. A holiday release about family dysfunction? Now that sounds like the most Jarmusch Christmas yet.
