đ„ âGreenland 2: Migrationâ Trailer: Gerard Butler Leads His Family Through Post-Apocalyptic Europe in Ric Roman Waughâs Disaster Sequel â In Theaters January 9th
The family that flees together, stays together. But sometimes staying alive means leaving everything else behind at a momentâs notice.
Gerard Butler reprises his role as John Garrity, a rugged family man who risks everything to secure a spot for himself and his loved ones in a massive evacuation effort during the cult 2020 hit Greenland. Set against an extinction-level crisis where a rogue comet hurtles toward Earth, the original film followed John as he scrambled to survive the impact, ultimately uncovering secret underground bunkers in Greenland designated for U.S. military and government leaders.
Now, one would think hijacking a truck and then hopping on a plane to a secret military evacuation site outside the country would be enough of a challenge for one family to handle for the rest of their lives. But John discovers that was only the beginning of this unimaginable ordeal. âCause to survive the end of the world, you have to be ready to keep moving forward no matter what stands in your way.
In Greenland 2: Migration, the upcoming sequel to the apocalyptic disaster thriller, Butlerâs John Garrity, his wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and their son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) are barely getting by after five years in the Greenland bunkers. But as structural threats mount and chaotic climate shifts loom, the Garrity family decides to risk everything yet again, setting out to migrate to a supposed âsafe zoneâ in Franceâan area rumored to have been spared from the cometâs impact. The problem is, no one knows how to get there... or if itâs even safe at all. With the underground bunkers becoming increasingly unstable, John has no choice but to lead his family on another life-threatening escapeâthis time through some of the worst wastelands Europe has ever seen.
Stuntman-turned-director Ric Roman Waugh (Shot Caller, Angel Has Fallen) returns to the directorâs seat, steering the franchise into even more effects-heavy territory as the world collapses into a landscape of structural ruins and extreme climate weather. Now a storm warning means more than just needing an umbrellaâit could mean the difference between life and death.
The Garritys may have survived the end of the world, but can they survive a trek through the apocalypse?
Greenland 2: Migration storms into theaters January 9th.
đ„ âA House of Dynamiteâ Trailer: Oscar-Winning Director Kathryn Bigelow Returns with Rebecca Ferguson, Tracy Letts, Jason Clarke, Jared Harris, Idris Elba, and More in Netflixâs Real-Time Nuclear Crisis Thriller â In Select Theaters October 10th, Streaming October 24th on Netflix
Throughout the decades, there have been countless tense-filled movies created to warn us about the looming threat of nuclear war. Fail Safe, WarGames, Crimson Tide, Dr. Strangeloveâjust to name a few. Most of these films build their tension around the desperate attempt to prevent a nuclear launch, since the moment a missile is fired it all but guarantees the end of the world as we know it.
But what happens if a nuclear missile is fired and itâs aimed straight at the United States of Americaâone of the most powerful nations on Earth, equipped with all the latest defense systems and military technology?
Thatâs the basic gist behind A House of Dynamite, a new edge-of-your-seat political thriller that marks the return of Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty), who hasnât stepped behind the camera in nearly eight years, with her last directorial outing being 2017âs Detroit.
In this Netflix original film, the premise is devastatingly straightforward: a nuclear missile has been launched at U.S. soil. No one knows who fired it, why it was fired, or whether itâs the first spark of a global war or an elaborate bluff. Unfolding in real time, the story follows military leaders, intelligence officers, and government officials as they scramble to trace the source and respond before disaster spirals out of control. Every second counts, and every decision carries unbearable weight.
Bigelow, known for her razor-sharp pacing and unflinching tension, seems once more to be leaning into paranoia, emotional unrest, and multiple intersecting perspectivesâonly this time the stakes are nothing less than global annihilation.
The film boasts a stacked ensemble: Rebecca Ferguson as Captain Olivia Walker, Jason Clarke as Admiral Mark Miller, Tracy Letts as General Anthony Brody, Jared Harris as Secretary of Defense Reid Baker, Gabriel Basso as Deputy National Security Advisor Jake Baerington, and Anthony Ramos as Major Daniel Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Idris Elba steps into the Oval Office as the U.S. President, joined by Renée Elise Goldsberry as the First Lady.
The supporting lineup is no less impressive, with Willa Fitzgerald, Kaitlyn Dever, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Kyle Allen, Brittany OâGrady, Brian Tee, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Francesca Carpanini rounding out the ranks.
The script comes from former NBC News president-turned-screenwriter Noah Oppenheim (Jackie, Zero Day), whose past life in news and politics lends the story an unnerving authenticity.
From Situation Room debates to split-second military calls, A House of Dynamite aims to detonate your senses when it lands in select theaters October 10th before streaming globally on Netflix October 24th.
Consider it the yearâs most nerve-rattling ticking-clock thrillerânot that 2025 doesnât already have its fair share of distressing stories.
đ„ âViolent Endsâ Trailer: Billy Magnussen Faces Off Against James Badge Dale in a Blood-Soaked Family Feud in Ozark Crime Thriller with Alexandra Shipp â In Theaters October 31st
Okay, can we take a moment to appreciate the trajectory of actor Billy Magnussen? This guy has been grinding away for years, turning in standout performances across a wide range of films. Yet somehow, heâs still one of those actors where people go, âWait, I know that face... but where do I know him from?â
Whether you saw him as the lovable, lug-headed pal Ryan in the 2018 action comedy Game Night, the flamboyant Prince Anders in Disneyâs live-action Aladdin, the young Paulie Walnuts in the 2021 Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, the rich-kid villain in the 2024 Road House remake, or maybe even the body-shifting alien Agent Wendy Pleakley in the live-action Lilo & Stitch, one thingâs for sure: Billy Magnussen is an actor who refuses to be boxed in.
Magnussen once again shows off another tool in his bag of acting tricks as he trades in his natural charm for revenge-fueled rage in the new small-town crime thriller Violent Ends. Written and directed by John-Michael Powell (The Send-Off) and set against the shadowy ridges of the Ozark Mountains, the film sees Magnussen as Lucas Frost, a southern man desperate to escape his familyâs blood-stained legacy. Lucas has spent years distancing himself from his familyâs criminal empire, carving out a quiet life with his fiancĂ©e, Emma (played by X-Men: Apocalypseâs Alexandra Shipp).
But old sins donât stay buried for long. When his newly released-from-prison cousin Eli (James Badge Dale, The Empty Man) pulls off a botched armed robbery that leaves bodies in its wake, Lucas is dragged back into the violent world he swore heâd left behind. The fallout forces him to confront not just his familyâs expectations, but his own capacity for brutality. Now itâs cousin versus cousin, blood against bloodâand everyone in their path better take cover, because this is going to be a hell of a bullet-ridden showdown.
In addition to Magnussen, Badge Dale, and Shipp, the cast also includes Nick Stahl, Ray McKinnon, and Kate Burton as figures pulled into the unstoppable chain of retribution between two sides of the same Southern family. âCause blood may run thicker than waterâ but violence runs deeper.
Violent Ends arrives in theaters October 31st.
đ„ âThe Astronautâ Trailer: Kate Mara Unravels After a Mysterious Space Mission in Psychological Sci-Fi Thriller with Laurence Fishburne and Gabriel Luna â In Theaters October 17th
Anyone returning to Earth from a space mission will need time to reorient themselves, as the body, mind, and senses must readjust to gravity again. But no one ever warns about the other repercussionsâthe threat that something might follow you home, something that feels far more extraterrestrial.
Kate Mara stars in the eerie psychological thriller The Astronaut, playing the titular spacewoman who, after returning home from space, discovers that close encounters with extraterrestrials arenât always physicalâsometimes they manifest as psychological mind games. And sometimes, landing back on Earth can mean stepping into a new reality where nothing feels right anymore, nor entirely human.
Starring alongside Laurence Fishburne, Gabriel Luna, and Ivana Milicevic, Mara plays astronaut Sam Walker, who survives a mysterious incident in orbit only to crash-land back on Earth. Rescued from the ocean and placed under strict quarantine by the military, Sam is relocated to a secluded home where doctors and generals study her every move. Officially, itâs rehabilitation. Unofficially, itâs containment.
But isolation quickly breeds paranoia. As strange events mount and her body begins to betray her in unsettling ways, Sam grows convinced that something alien has returned with her. Is she simply unraveling from trauma... or has an extraterrestrial presence mysteriously slipped into her life?
Laurence Fishburne takes on the role of the calculating General William Harris overseeing Samâs confinement, while Gabriel Luna plays her overly concerned husband who wants to believe her but finds comfort in thinking she simply needs more time to recover.
Blurring the line between psychological breakdown and extraterrestrial horror, this claustrophobic head-scratcher aims to tap into primal fears of contamination, isolation, and the terrifying possibility that what followed you home isnât just in your mind. Just remember: what happens in space doesnât always stay there.
The Astronaut lands in theaters October 17th. The truth is out there... or perhaps in the hallway, peeking at you when youâre not looking.
đ„ âStiller & Meara: Nothing is Lostâ Trailer: Ben Stiller Celebrates His Parentsâ Enduring Love and Comedy Legacy in New Apple Documentary â In Select Theaters October 17th, Streaming October 24th on Apple TV+
Comedian and filmmaker Ben Stiller is riding high these days on the success of Severance, the Emmy-winning Apple original series where he serves as both executive producer and director. Thanks to the relationships heâs built at the streamer, Stiller may have afforded himself the chance to take on a more personal project: a documentary about his parents, the celebrated comedy duo Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.
In Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost, Ben Stiller goes behind the camera to honor the lives of his well-known parents and comedy icons whose act lit up television in the â60s and whose influence never really left pop culture. From their sharp timing on The Ed Sullivan Show to Jerryâs late-career turn as George Costanzaâs dad on Seinfeld, the couple left an indelible mark on entertainment while raising a family that lived and breathed creativity.
They say comedy is hard to do correctly. Marriage is perhaps harder. But somehow, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara pulled off bothâtogether, for 60 years.
As their son, Ben is able to dig deeper, examining the intersection of art, family, and legacyâand how his parents balanced their careers with marriage and parenting, how their partnership endured, and how their lessons still reverberate through the next generation. Along the way, he turns the lens back on himself and sister Amy, confronting the ways Jerry and Anneâs larger-than-life presence shaped their lives. The result is a loving portrait of two people whose love story was as vital as their comedy, and a reminder that laughter and heartache often walk hand in hand.
With archival footage, family reflections, and never-before-seen moments, the documentary promises to be both a celebration and a chronicle of what we perhaps inherit from the ones we love.
Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost is slated to open in select theaters October 17th before streaming globally on Apple TV+ starting October 24th.
