Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey Return in Highly Anticipated New Season of Hit HBO Series "The Last of Us" with Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Catherine O'Hara & Jeffrey Wright - Watch the Teaser!
Every choice comes with consequences, and every action has repercussions. Pedro Pascal's Joel is now facing this reality in the first official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the hit HBO series "The Last of Us."
Based on the mega-popular video game from Naughty Dog, the series takes place in the aftermath of a global pandemic that destroyed civilization twenty years ago, turning infected people into mutated zombie-like cannibals.
Joel is a hard-boiled survivor and smuggler who has seen and experienced some of the worst things humanly possible during the rise of this new post-apocalyptic world. In the first season, Joel is tasked with escorting a special 14-year-old girl named Ellie (played by fellow "Game of Thrones" alum Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. Ellie just might be the only person in the world to have been infected by the fungal virus and still be alive. During their travels, Joel and Ellie have grown close. As Ellie's sworn protector, Joel has done terrible things to complete his mission of getting her out of a quarantine zone.
In Season 2, Joel and Ellie find themselves in a new community of survivors just outside the quarantine zone. They must face new rules, adversaries, and challenges as they confront their past deeds to move forward. But sometimes, the horrors of the past catch up with everyone in this world of "The Last of Us."
Executive produced by showrunners Craig Mazin (creator of the Emmy Award-winning HBO miniseries "Chernobyl") and Neil Druckmann (head video game developer at Naughty Dog), the series will also see the return of Gabriel Luna and Rutina Wesley as Tommy, Joel's younger brother, and his wife Maria.
Joining the cast of Season 2 are Jeffrey Wright, Catherine O'Hara, Young Mazino, Isabela Merced, and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, a notorious soldier character from the video games.
"The Last of Us: Season 2" is slated to premiere sometime in 2025, exclusively on HBO and MAX. Watch the teaser trailer above.
