Terrifier's Lauren LaVera Teams Up with Horror Legend Bill Moseley in Trailer for Upcoming Pregnancy Horror Thriller "The Fetus"
Lauren LaVera and Bill Moseley Face a Terrifying Demonic Pregnancy in New Darkly Comic Horror Thriller with Julian Curtis
Love it or hate it, the Terrifier franchise has become a horror phenomenon we haven't quite seen in a while. With its ultra-low budget, extreme gore, and a killer clown that could easily become one of the great horror icons of the last 25 years, it's a force in the genre. But for our money, the franchise might have remained a cult oddity if it weren’t for the star-making performance of Lauren LaVera. After starring in two Terrifier films, LaVera has firmly earned her place as a scream queen for this new generation. Now, capitalizing on that status, she steps into her next horror project, sharing the screen with Bill Moseley, a veteran of the genre.
In the new darkly comic horror thriller The Fetus, Lauren LaVera plays a young woman facing an unplanned pregnancy with her new fiancé (played by Julian Curtis). Determined to introduce him to her ornery father (played by Bill Moseley), she decides to return home. What should have been a simple family meeting quickly spirals into a nightmare as she uncovers the disturbing truth about her pregnancy—an eerie connection to a demonic entity that begins to emerge from her body.
Now, seeing long stringy tentacles emerging from places where they definitely shouldn’t—especially from a woman’s body—is a sight to behold. But nothing tops Bill Moseley, a beloved horror veteran, going all in and delivering lines like, "If we don't feed it, it will start sucking on her blood to survive!" as seen in the film's trailer (watch it above).
Moseley, known recently for his collaborations with Rob Zombie in a number of his horror films, including The Devil's Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses, has a horror career that stretches back decades, with his breakthrough role as the cannibal Chop Top in Tobe Hooper's cult 1986 sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Moseley is also a regular at horror conventions, becoming one of the most beloved horror actors in the game. So, obviously, the selling point here is the onscreen pairing of Lauren LaVera and Bill Moseley, both beloved figures of horror. Plus, you add a demon baby to the mix, you might have yourself a winner.
Directed and written by indie filmmaker Joe Lam, The Fetus is expected to be released sometime this year. We anticipate a strong promotional push at upcoming conventions, and perhaps a screening or two at notable genre festivals throughout the year.
