"The Bondsman" Red Band Trailer: Kevin Bacon Hunts Down Demons in Prime's New Action-Horror Series
Kevin Bacon plays a slain bounty hunter resurrected by the Devil to round up fugitive demons—or risk being sent back to the grave.
For his latest project, Kevin Bacon is pulling out all the stops—unleashing himself and using every trick in his bag. He gets to don a Southern drawl as a tough-as-nails bounty hunter dishing out some serious ass-kicking action. He belts out country songs while strumming a guitar in front of a rowdy crowd. And to top it all off? He even gets to die—only to be resurrected by the Devil himself.
Bacon is hell-bent on giving us an unforgettable performance, and we’re fired up to see where this wild ride takes us!
Check out the official red band trailer for The Bondsman, a new Prime Video supernatural horror-action series featuring none other than the Footloose star as Hub Halloran, a slain bounty hunter brought back to the world of the living for a new job—and a new purpose.
Now temporarily immortal, Hub’s mission is to hunt down fugitive demons disguised as humans and send them straight back to hell. The catch? If he fails even one assignment, he’ll be fired from the job—meaning he’s heading straight back to the grave.
The Bondsman is created by writer Grainger David, with television producer-writer Erik Oleson (Carnival Row, Daredevil) serving as showrunner.
Blumhouse Television leads the production in collaboration with Marker 96, CrimeThink Production Company, and Amazon MGM Studios.
Joining Bacon in the mayhem is country singer/actress Jennifer Nettles (The Righteous Gemstones, The Exorcist) as Hub's estranged wife, Maryanne, with whom he shares a teenage son.
The cast also includes Damon Herriman (Justified), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space), and Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), with Jolene Purdy (Orange Is the New Black) playing Midge, the Devil’s liaison who keeps Hub in check.
The Bondsman will run for eight episodes, with all episodes available to stream on Prime Video starting Thursday, April 3rd.
Here’s the show’s official synopsis:
Murdered bounty hunter Hub Halloran (Kevin Bacon) is resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons with the help and hinderance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned — which pushes him to seek a second chance at life, love, and country music.
So not an original concept, Zelanzy did it with Dilvish of the Damned and also the old TV show Brimstone. Regardless, I enjoyed both and am looking fwd to this.
