Filming Hits Halfway Mark for Final Season of Netflix's Hit Show "Stranger Things" with Millie Bobby Brown, Jamie Campbell Bower, Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, and More - Watch a Behind-the-Scenes Peek!
Well, it's been a couple of years since we last saw those monster-fighting kids from Hawkins, but the final season of "Stranger Things" will be here at last. Fingers crossed it will be even better than we could possibly hope for. The brand-new season isn't scheduled to premiere until sometime next year, but Netflix has nevertheless announced that filming of the fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" has finally reached the halfway mark. Time to celebrate with this new official behind-the-scenes featurette, offering a small peek at the final episodes.
The original cast, led by Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Priah Ferguson, and Maya Hawke, will be coming back for one final ride through the monster-infested streets of Hawkins, Indiana. Jamie Campbell Bower will also be back to play the main horror villain, Vecna, the ruler and mastermind behind the Upside Down.
Here are a couple of cool things you can expect with this final season: "Terminator" icon Linda Hamilton has joined the cast of Season 5. She, obviously, brings the cool '80s science-fiction weight to the new season.
Meanwhile, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) is making a comeback as he is set to direct two episodes of the final season. Darabont hasn't directed a movie since his 2007 Stephen King-based horror film "The Mist." Darabont was semi-retired and had only directed a few episodes of television before leaving the business: the 2010 pilot episode of "The Walking Dead" (which he created based on the comic book) and a few episodes of the 2013 '40s-era crime noir series "Mob City" (which he created for TNT).
"Stranger Things 5" will consist of eight feature film-length episodes and will premiere in 2025.
