🎥 “Toy Story 5” Teaser: Woody, Buzz, and the Gang Face a Digital Dilemma in Pixar’s Next Big Adventure — Opening June 19th, 2026
After three decades of joy-inducing adventures across four films, along with countless shorts and specials, the Toy Story franchise has always celebrated the power of friendship, loyalty, and teamwork. Through every scrape and setback, Woody, Buzz, and the gang have shown that as long as they stick together, they can overcome just about anything.
But after 30 years, the times have changed, and so has the idea of children’s playtime. The once analog world of handmade pull-string toys and action figures is giving way to a new frontier, where kids’ playthings are born not in workshops, but in the digital realm of 1s and 0s.
So, meet Lilypad! A sleek, frog-shaped smart tablet for kids that just might be the scariest thing Woody and Buzz have ever encountered. It’s a toy, sure, but not the kind they’re used to. This one talks back, updates itself, and is powered by Wi-Fi. God save them all.
Check out the first official teaser for Toy Story 5, Pixar’s next big return to the franchise that made them. Tom Hanks returns as the ever-loyal cowboy, with Tim Allen back in star-command mode as Buzz Lightyear and Joan Cusack once again voicing the spirited cowgirl Jessie. But there’s a new toy in town — fresh from a shipping warehouse and ready to invade Bonnie’s toy room. It’s a green-colored smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee (Past Lives, The Morning Show, TRON: Ares), part gadget, part guru, and fully capable of stealing the spotlight... and perhaps convincing Bonnie that her old toys are yesterday’s news.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Andrew Stanton (WALL•E, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory) and co-directed by Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto), the film is produced by Lindsey Collins (Turning Red, WALL•E, Finding Dory). Expect Pixar’s signature blend of heart, humor, and existential crisis. This time, updated for the touchscreen generation.
Also featuring voices from Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, a toilet-training tech toy; Tony Hale as the ever-anxious Forky; Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl; and Anna Faris in an undisclosed role. Whenever Pixar’s involved, expect an emotional punch mixed with plenty of laughs.
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on June 19th, 2026.
🎥 “Merv” Trailer: Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox Navigate Breakups, Beach Trips, and Dog Co-Parenting in This Feel-Good Canine Comedy — Premiering December 10th on Prime Video
Breakups can be messy. And when babies are involved, the idea of joint custody can get even messier... especially when the “baby” in question is a four-legged pooch who refuses to choose between his two favorite humans.
In the upcoming warm-hearted canine comedy Merv, Zooey Deschanel (New Girl) and Charlie Cox (Daredevil) star as Anna and Russ, an estranged couple whose recent breakup leaves their beloved dog, Merv, in an emotional tailspin. After agreeing to share custody — a few days with Anna, a few with Russ — they quickly realize the arrangement isn’t working out quite as planned. Merv is moping around, depressed, and clearly missing the way things used to be.
So, Russ decides there’s only one solution: a “dog therapy” weekend at the beach. It’s a sunny Florida getaway meant to lift Merv’s spirits , and maybe his own. But when Anna shows up uninvited, it not only cheers Merv up but also reignites the spark between his two humans. As it turns out, the dog isn’t the only one in need of rescuing.
Directed by British playwright and filmmaker Jessica Swale (Summerland, Paddington: The Musical), the film co-stars Chris Redd, Wynn Everett, Jasmine Mathews, Joey Slotnick, and Patricia Heaton.
Expect laughs, awkward reunions, and one very good boy at the heart of it all when Merv premieres December 10th on Prime Video.
🎥 “Marty Supreme” Trailer: Timothée Chalamet Serves Up Swagger and Chaos in Josh Safdie’s Electric 1950s Ping Pong Drama with Gwyneth Paltrow — Opening Christmas Day via A24
When news broke that the Safdie Brothers (the acclaimed filmmaking duo behind Uncut Gems and Good Time) had decided to part ways and pursue their own projects, many wondered what that would look like. Well, last month, Benny Safdie showed his hand with the critically acclaimed wrestling drama The Smashing Machine, which catapulted Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson straight into the Oscar conversation for Best Actor.
Now it’s Josh Safdie’s turn to step up with his own solo directing debut. And from the looks of it, Timothée Chalamet’s name is already generating that same awards-season buzz. Come Oscar night, it could very well be brother versus brother, each with their own heavyweight contender. Let’s just say we wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the Safdie Thanksgiving table this year.
In Marty Supreme, Chalamet stars as Marty Mauser, a cocksure young 1950s New York hustler determined to become the best ping pong player in the world. A self-made prodigy with an ego as oversized as his ambition, Marty takes the sport by storm. Brash, arrogant, and utterly self-mythologizing, he’s the kind of guy who might either crash and burn spectacularly — or make history doing it.
Co-written by Safdie and longtime collaborator Ronald Bronstein (Good Time, Uncut Gems), Marty Supreme is a hyper-charged period drama that appears to double as a modern fable about the price of chasing greatness — capturing both the inspiration and the madness of pursuing the American Dream. It’s American ambition at its most unhinged.
Gwyneth Paltrow co-stars as a glamorous ’50s movie star who becomes entangled in Marty’s orbit as he rockets from nobody to somebody. They’re joined by Odessa A’zion, Fran Drescher, Sandra Bernhard, Tyler, the Creator, Abel Ferrara, Penn Jillette, Philippe Petit, and — in one of the wildest casting choices of the year — Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary.
Is the American Dream a noble pursuit or just another hustle? Marty Supreme might just provide that answer when it opens in theaters this Christmas Day, via A24.
🎥 “The Plague” Trailer: Kids Turn Savagely Cruel in Charlie Polinger’s Haunting Debut About a Twisted Summer Camp Prank, With Joel Edgerton Co-Starring and Producing — In Theaters December 24th
Each generation likes to think they had it the roughest growing up. And sure, adolescence can be brutal for anyone. But this younger generation might just have it the worst — growing up under the shadow of social media, constant comparison, and a creeping sense of apathy that seems to have settled over today’s youth.
To put it simply, kids today are kind of assholes. Case in point: The Plague. This chilling psychological thriller serves as a brutal reminder that the kids aren’t alright — frankly, they might just be psychopaths.
Written and directed by Charlie Polinger in his feature debut, this eerie thriller follows 12-year-old Ben (Everett Blunck), a shy newcomer at a summer water polo camp. Already reeling from his mother’s recent remarriage and a move to a new home, Ben just wants to fit in. But when he’s drawn into a cruel camp ritual targeting an outcast suffering from a mysterious illness known as “The Plague,” the line between childish cruelty and genuine menace starts to blur. Soon, Ben begins to suspect the so-called prank might be masking something much darker.
Diving headfirst into the dark side of boyhood adolescence and the disturbing games kids play when no one’s watching, the film comes off a successful festival run, earning rave reviews at Cannes and Fantastic Fest earlier this year.
Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams) co-stars as the camp’s water polo coach and also serves as a producer. The film features a strong ensemble of young newcomers including Kayo Martin, Kenny Rasmussen, Lennox Espy, Lucas Adler, Elliott Heffernan, Caden Burris, and Kolton Lee.
The Plague opens in select theaters December 24th — making it one hell of a Christmas.
