🎥 “Practical Magic 2” Teaser Trailer: Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman Reunite as the Owens Sisters Confront a Dark New Family Curse — In Theaters September 11th
Truth be told, when Practical Magic hit theaters in 1998, it was only a modest success and drew a lukewarm response from critics. Still, it had the undeniable star appeal of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, descendants of a long line of witches cursed to never find lasting love.
Fast forward 28 years, and after decades of steady rotation on cable TV and streaming platforms, the film has evolved into a full-fledged cult favorite, leaving die-hard fans wondering if Bullock and Kidman would ever reunite for a sequel. Now, it looks like those prayers have been answered... or should we say those spells have been cast, as a long-awaited follow-up is officially on the way.
In Practical Magic 2, Bullock and Kidman return as Sally and Gillian, joined once again by Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as their ever-watchful aunts. This time, the story shifts to a new generation as Sally’s daughters, Kylie and Antonia (played by The Kissing Booth’s Joey King and Game of Thrones’s Maisie Williams), begin uncovering buried family secrets that point to the truth behind the witchy curse they all share. Soon, the Owens women are forced to unite and confront the very force that has been haunting their family for generations.
The journey pulls the family out of their familiar Massachusetts home and into the United Kingdom, where they set out to uncover the true origin of their witchy lineage and the curse tied to it. With the stakes now spanning generations, breaking the cycle may come at a higher cost than ever before, as the Owens women fight for a real shot at lasting love. Now that Sally’s daughter, Kylie, has someone she truly cares about (played by Blue Beetle’s Xolo Maridueña), the risk feels more urgent than ever.
Directed by acclaimed Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier, who previously collaborated with Bullock on the Netflix smash hit Bird Box and Kidman on the Emmy-nominated HBO miniseries The Undoing, the long-awaited sequel looks to build on the original’s legacy, blending romance and the supernatural with themes of family and fate.
With Lee Pace rounding out the cast, Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to open in theaters September 11th.
🎥 “Driver’s Ed” Trailer: A Lovesick Teen Steals a Driver’s Ed Car for a Last-Ditch Road Trip in Bobby Farrelly’s New Comedy Starring Sam Nivola & Lilah Pate with Molly Shannon & Kumail Nanjiani — In Theaters and on VOD/Digital May 15th
If love’s on the line, don’t hold back. Go big and make it count! Even if that means commandeering a driver’s ed car for an impromptu road trip without permission. Because sometimes the quickest way to learn the rules... is to break every single one of them.
Bobby Farrelly, one half of the brother duo behind classic road comedies like Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin, as well as the beloved romp There’s Something About Mary, returns to the road-trip comedy genre with a younger, more reckless crew in tow. This time, it’s not seasoned idiots behind the wheel, but four unlicensed teens with zero plan and even less experience.
In the upcoming teen comedy Driver’s Ed, Sam Nivola (one of the breakouts from Season 3 of The White Lotus) stars as a lovesick high school senior who convinces his classmates to steal their driver’s ed car and chase down his long-distance, college-bound girlfriend (Outer Banks’s Lilah Pate) in a reckless bid to save their relationship. What begins as a desperate romantic gesture quickly spins into a chaotic 24-hour journey filled with run-ins with school security, the cops, frat parties and a few unexpected detours.
Joining Nivola on the ride are Sophie Telegadis, Mohana Krishnan, and Aidan Laprete as his equally unprepared co-pilots. The film also features Molly Shannon as the school principal and Kumail Nanjiani as the driver’s ed teacher who’s a little miffed that his class has just taken his car for a little joyride. Alyssa Milano and Tim Baltz round out the cast.
Directed by Farrelly and written by Thomas Moffett, this coming-of-age comedy looks to blend outrageous set pieces with a surprisingly sincere streak of teenage emotion, leaning into both generational humor and classic Farrelly-style absurdity. Because sometimes going big is the only move you’ve got. And when you’re young, there’s no such thing as too far.
Driver’s Ed opens in select theaters and on VOD and digital platforms May 15th.
🎥 “Super Troopers 3” Trailer: Broken Lizard’s Lovably Clueless Cops Return for More Highway Chaos — Hitting Theaters August 7th
If we put on our cinephile historian hats for a moment, there’s a long cinematic history of turning police officers into goofball foils; from the silent film era of the Keystone Cops to the ’80s resurgence of the Police Academy films. There’s just something inherently funny about watching lawmen lose control and descend into full-on idiocy.
And one could argue that the Super Troopers franchise is simply continuing that long-running tradition of presenting officers as lovable screw-ups. It’s likely why it remains the most successful outing from the comedy troupe Broken Lizard, with those films cementing themselves as cult comedy staples. Well, eight years after Super Troopers 2 and 25 years after the 2001 original, the whole gang returns for another round of highway hijinks. And age hasn’t made them any wiser... in fact, they may be even less qualified.
Everyone’s favorite screw-up state troopers are back in Super Troopers 3. This time, the chaos kicks off when Trooper Rod Farva’s wildly over-the-top engagement to Senior Trooper “Thorny” Ramathorn’s sister (played by New Girl’s Hannah Simone) spirals out of control, dragging the entire crew into a mess of bad decisions and even worse ideas. At the same time, a new drug ring emerges, giving the troopers a case they’re barely equipped to handle, let alone solve.
The Broken Lizard gang, Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske, all reprise their roles as the Vermont State Police’s least reliable unit, while Emmy-winning Succession star Brian Cox returns as their perpetually irritated captain. New blood comes in the form of SNL’s Andrew Dismukes, joining a supporting cast that includes Marisa Coughlan, Nat Faxon, and The Boys’ Chace Crawford.
Directed by Chandrasekhar and written by Broken Lizard, this third outing looks to double down on the same absurd, prank-heavy energy that turned the original into a cult staple. Whether they’re saving the day or wrecking highway pursuits, one thing’s clear: professionalism is still not on the agenda... it never was.
Super Troopers 3 is slated to hit theaters August 7th.

🎥 “Idiots” Teaser Trailer: Dave Franco & O’Shea Jackson Jr. Botch a Simple Drop-Off in This Twisted Road Comedy with Mason Thames, Kiernan Shipka, Peter Dinklage & Nicholas Braun — In Theaters August 28th
Some jobs sound easy on paper… until the wrong people take them.
In Idiots, Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr. play two wildly unqualified hires tasked with escorting a spoiled rich teen (Mason Thames, from How to Train Your Dragon and The Black Phone) to rehab. It’s a straightforward assignment: get in the car, drive, and drop him off. But with these two calling the shots, the trip veers off course almost immediately.
What begins as a routine transport turns into a string of bad decisions, escalating mishaps, and increasingly dangerous situations, as the trio finds themselves in way over their heads with no clear way out. Along the way, trouble keeps piling up, and the road to recovery starts looking more like a crash course in pure mayhem.
Also co-starring Kiernan Shipka and Peter Dinklage, along with Nicholas Braun as a spiky-haired punk-rock weirdo, this darkly comic road film is written and directed by actor-filmmaker Macon Blair, coming off last year’s twisted remake of the cult ’80s splatter film The Toxic Avenger. Here, however, it seems Blair is returning to the dark, offbeat eccentricities of small-town life, closer in spirit to his 2017 indie breakout debut I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore.
Firmly leaning into twisted absurdity, the film appears to thrive on the kind of oddball characters that surround the mess that unfolds when incompetence crashes headfirst into responsibility. Who knew transporting someone to their destination could spiral this wildly out of control?
Originally titled Shitheads when it premiered earlier this year at Sundance, where it was warmly received by critics, Idiots is now slated to open in theaters August 28th.
🎥 “RZA’s One Spoon Of Chocolate” Trailer: Shameik Moore Takes on a Sinister Small-Town Conspiracy in RZA’s Stylish Action Thriller Presented by Quentin Tarantino — In Theaters May 1st
Some towns don’t just keep secrets, they bury skeletons deep. And sometimes it takes someone bold enough to drag them into the light... by force.
Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA returns to the director’s chair for his third feature with One Spoon of Chocolate, a sharply styled action thriller built to get audiences on their feet for a dose of street justice, blending grindhouse spirit, biting satire, and pulpy revenge.
Backed by Quentin Tarantino as presenter, the film stars Shameik Moore (known for voicing Miles Morales in the animated Spider-Verse films) as Unique, a former soldier and ex-con trying to start fresh in a quiet town that quickly proves anything but. After a run-in with a local gang, he begins to suspect something darker is at play, especially when young men in the area start turning up missing, including his own cousin. The deeper he digs, the more dangerous things become, as both the gang and the local sheriff’s office appear to be in on it.
Refusing to wait around to become the next victim, Unique teams up with those closest to him, including RJ Cyler and Paris Jackson, to fight back against a system that seems designed to silence him and his community. The result sees him suiting up in makeshift armor and a black hood, wielding baseball bats, lead pipes, and hammers as he takes the fight straight to those responsible.
Boasting a supporting cast that includes Michael Harney, Rockmond Dunbar, Jason Isbell, and Blair Underwood, and produced, written, and directed by RZA, One Spoon of Chocolate opens in theaters May 1st. Just remember: justice isn’t served, it’s taken... with a spoonful of chocolate.
