Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy Face the Gates of Hell in the Trailer for Scott Derrickson's New Supernatural Action-Thriller "The Gorge"
Two of the world's most skilled snipers are stationed on opposite sides of a massive gorge, hidden from the rest of the world. Separated by a political divide and forbidden by their governments from communicating, these lone soldiers share a common mission: to eliminate anything that emerges from the gorge, believed to be the gateway to hell itself. This is the premise behind "The Gorge," the latest supernatural action-thriller from director Scott Derrickson, starring Miles Teller ("Top Gun: Maverick") and Anya Taylor-Joy ("Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga"). Watch the official trailer for the upcoming movie, set to debut early next year on Apple TV Plus.
Also starring Sigourney Weaver ("Alien" and "Avatar" franchises) and Sope Dirisu ("Gangs of London"), the film imagines a fantastical scenario: what if the Gates of Hell opened deep within the Eastern European mountains, prompting governments to construct two towering installations on opposite sides of a massive gorge? Here, two snipers are stationed with one mission: to eliminate anything that emerges from the colossal hellhole. Despite being forbidden from communicating, the two soldiers gradually break the rules out of boredom, forming an unexpected connection. But when their communications are abruptly cut off by activity within the gorge, they must act swiftly to confront the emerging threat.
Miles Teller stars as an elite U.S. sniper assigned to guard the Gorge for a year. Opposite him is Anya Taylor-Joy, portraying an exceptionally skilled Eastern European operative trained for extended stealth missions. Together, they must face what emerges from the abyss and fight to send it back to hell.
"The Gorge" is directed by Scott Derrickson, known for the hit horror thrillers "The Black Phone" and "Sinister" as well as the MCU blockbuster "Doctor Strange." The screenplay is written by Zach Dean, the writer behind "The Tomorrow War" and "Fast X."
"The Gorge" is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV Plus beginning February 14, 2025.
