Yelena, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, and Others Join Forces in New MCU Action-Thriller "Thunderbolts*" - Watch the D23 Brazil Special Look Trailer!
What would it take for super-villains to cross over and become anti-heroes? Well, maybe it would require gathering them in the same room, forcing them to work together, and giving them a mission where they must put aside their selfish behavior for the greater good of everyone involved. Enter the Thunderbolts, a newly assembled team of rogue mercenaries tricked into working together to serve as unlikely heroes for shady CIA director "Val" Allegra de Fontaine.
Take a look at the new "Special Look" trailer for the upcoming MCU film "Thunderbolts," which just debuted at D23 Brazil. The trailer offers another sneak peek at the highly anticipated film, due out in early summer 2025, which brings together some of the MCU's coolest super-villains (quite literally) into one room.
Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and "Bob" (Lewis Pullman) are mysteriously brought together, only to find themselves set up for a deadly ambush. Forced to work as a team to survive, they must uncover the reason behind their setup and figure out if they can trust each other while navigating this perilous situation.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns as CIA director Valentina "Val" Allegra de Fontaine, and Sebastian Stan reprises his role as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier, the super-soldier with a metal arm. Bucky appears to be on the hunt for this new team of anti-heroes, only to end up temporarily joining their ranks. It's all part of a cunning ruse orchestrated by Val, who brings them together with an offer to become ... the "Thunderbolts."
Directed by Jake Schreier, the acclaimed director of the Emmy-winning Netflix series "Beef" and films like "Paper Towns" and "Robot & Frank," the movie is written by Eric Pearson ("Black Widow"), Lee Sung Jin (creator of "Beef"), and Joanna Calo (writer and producer of "The Bear").
"Thunderbolts" is set to storm into theaters on May 2nd, kicking off the blockbuster summer of 2025.
