Yeah, I think ever since Crimson Peak and The Shape of Water, some have written Guillermo del Toro off as hit-or-miss; a more style-than-substance type of filmmaker. But for me, the guy always delivers.
And regardless of how you feel about his films, I haven’t seen another filmmaker speak so eloquently about cinema, especially horror and monster movies, and how they reflect human nature. So, yeah, I’m really excited about his version of Frankenstein... it looks so freakin’ cool.
