"Final Destination: Bloodlines" Teaser Trailer: Death Returns With a Vengeance in New Franchise Installment
The horror series brings back its signature elaborate death scenes as a new generation fights fate.
People can cheat almost anything—taxes, relationships, careers, and maybe even life itself. But when the time comes, no one can cheat death. No one. Not even a sleazy tattoo artist enjoying a quiet moment in his parlor when a series of unfortunate events occur. Watch out for that chained-up ceiling fan with steel blades — it's a doozy!
Here's the first official teaser trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines, the newest installment of the popular horror franchise that began with the original 2000 film about a group of teenagers who escape a plane crash, only to have death come back to claim them one by one in the order they were meant to die.
The New Line Cinema franchise is built on the idea that death is an invisible force, and it could miss once but never a second time. The franchise is also known for its elaborate death scenes — much like a Rube Goldberg machine, where a victim not only dies but dies in the most complicated way imaginable through a chain reaction of events leading to a torturous demise. It's fun, mostly.
Offering a look at one of its deaths, this newly released teaser features actor Richard Harmon (The 100) as a two-bit tattoo artist who, after piercing a person's tongue, is left alone at his tattoo parlor. While tattooing his own arm with the words "DAD," he falls victim to an unfortunate series of sinister events, involving a ceiling chain and his nose ring. Eek!
The teaser also hints that "death runs in the family," which could mean that anyone who managed to escape the Grim Reaper might have their offspring bear the burden of the consequences.
In addition to Richard Harmon, the cast of this new Final Destination movie includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, with Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd in one of his final performances.
Filmmaking duo Adam Stein & Zach Lipovsky direct the film. Stein and Lipovsky are best known for writing and directing the cult 2018 sci-fi thriller Freaks. They also helmed the 2019 Disney Channel original movie Kim Possible.
Produced by filmmaker Jon Watts along with Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich, the film was written by Guy Busick & Lori Evans Taylor, and the story is by Jon Watts and Guy Busick & Lori Evans Taylor. It is based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick.
