Disney Reimagines the Beloved Animated Classic "Lilo & Stitch" for a New Generation - Watch the Teaser!
Disney is once again digging into its animation vault for a new live-action adaptation. This time, they have chosen the 2022 animated hit "Lilo & Stitch" as their next summer movie, reimagining the beloved story in live-action form. Set to arrive in May of next year, here's a sneak peek teaser offering a glimpse of what to expect from the live-action remake. It appears the creators have remained largely faithful to the original animated film's design. Stitch, the lovable blue koala-like alien, closely resembles his classic look, now vividly brought to life in three dimensions like never before.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the acclaimed director of the award-winning stop-motion/live-action hybrid mockumentary "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On," the upcoming Disney remake follows a young Hawaiian girl named Lilo who ends up befriending a small blue alien creature named Stitch, forming a close bond.
Newcomer Maia Kealoha has been cast to play Lilo Pelekai, while Oscar-nominated animator Chris Sanders returns to lend his vocal expressions once more as Stitch. The cast will also include Sydney Elizabeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis.
"Lilo & Stitch" will be coming to theaters next summer, beginning May 23, 2025.
