Disney Brings the Iconic Animated Fairytale to Life with Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen - Watch the Trailer!
Disney is once again reimagining one of their classic animated films as a live-action adaptation, a central goal for the studio over the past decade. This time, however, Disney is tackling one of their most cherished classics: "Snow White."
Originally inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, "Snow White" was a groundbreaking animated film when it premiered in 1937, becoming a box office and cultural phenomenon for generations. So, why update it now? Well, that's for audiences to decide when it premieres next March.
The new live-action musical stars Rachel Zegler, known for her roles in Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" and "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," as Snow White. Opposite her, "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot takes on the role of the Evil Queen. The reimagining is directed by Marc Webb, acclaimed filmmaker behind "500 Days of Summer" and "The Amazing Spider-Man."
Get a closer look at Zegler and Gadot in action in the newly released full trailer, offering a glimpse of what promises to be one of Disney's most talked-about projects next year.
Featuring original songs by Oscar-winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul ("La La Land," "The Greatest Showman"), the film follows Snow White (Zegler) as she flees her kingdom after her jealous stepmother, the Evil Queen (Gadot), plots her death. Seeking refuge in the woods, Snow White discovers the cottage of seven dwarfs and learns the importance of true friendship and kindness, while the queen's obsession with beauty leads to her ultimate downfall.
"Snow White" is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on March 21, 2025. Watch the official full trailer above.
