Watch some Comic Con sneak peeks!
It’s San Diego Comic-Con weekend, where geeks around the world travel to Southern California to experience the holy grail of pop culture. It's the mecca of geekdom! But oddly, this year feels a little lowkey compared to previous years. Perhaps it’s due to the lack of headline-making announcements that usually dominate the convention floor.
That’s not to say we’re not getting some exciting surprise trailer drops—because as always, this weekend gathering produces a certain level of buzz and anticipation over future projects on both the big and small screens. So, we’ve gathered a list of trailers that just premiered at Comic-Con this year. Let’s take a look at what dropped online for those who weren’t able to attend this weekend!

✪ IT: Welcome to Derry — Comic Con Teaser
To be honest, this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con felt more like a showcase for television’s next big projects—not that we’re complaining. To be fair, there were some major film panels, but it seems more of the new trailer releases came from the TV side of things, with streamers and networks rolling out first looks, teasers, and sneak peeks for some of the most anticipated shows hitting screens later this year and into 2026.
IT: Welcome to Derry is just the latest big streaming show to make its presence known at Comic-Con, debuting a brand-new teaser trailer. The series, as one can guess from the title, is a prequel spinoff to the hugely successful IT films, which were adapted from Stephen King's classic horror novel about how every 27 years the small-town community of Derry, Maine is struck with a surge of unexplained murders and child abductions.
The series, taking place in the 1960s—decades before the formation of the Losers’ Club—will follow a cast of kids as they find themselves facing the terrifying threat of a killer clown known as Pennywise, who has haunted the town of Derry since its very founding. Filmmaker Andy Muschietti and his producing partner/sister Barbara Muschietti, the creative forces behind the IT films, are back to spearhead this new series for HBO Max, with Bill Skarsgård also reprising his role as Pennywise.
The cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso, while also introducing a new roster of young actors set to play the leads.
IT: Welcome to Derry is now slated to premiere in October on HBO Max—likely turning your Halloween season into a full-blown scarefest.
✪ Peacemaker — Season 2 Trailer
James Gunn is wasting no time. After just launching his new Superman movie to mostly positive reviews and a healthy box office start, the new DC honcho has swooped into San Diego Comic-Con this year with the official Season 2 trailer for Peacemaker. John Cena is back as the chrome helmet-donning anti-hero who was trained to be a ruthless, America-loving assassin—but starts rethinking his purpose, his past, and what it really means to fight for peace... even if he has to kill for it.
Season 2 continues to follow Chris Smith aka Peacemaker (Cena) on his journey to redemption as he desperately wants to turn everything bad about his life into something good. Unfortunately, the road to forgiveness leads Peacemaker straight to Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo, reprising his role from Superman and Creature Commandos). He’s the father of the U.S. agent Peacemaker killed years ago—an act that continues to haunt him to this day.
Now, if Peacemaker can’t find closure, and if Rick Flag Sr. is unable to forgive him, perhaps the only shot at redemption lies in a bizarre new dimensional world where everything is exactly how Peacemaker always wished it could be. Well, he’s just been handed the keys to the portal that can take him there.
The question is, can this world survive without Peacemaker? And more importantly... would his team be better off without him?
The answer: Yes! Yeah, no question.
But this is James Gunn we’re talking about. And he isn’t about to give us an antihero story without a nice, messy arc of redemption—and a team of misfit friends who can help get him there, whether he deserves it or not.
Peacemaker: Season 2 is set to premiere Thursday, August 21st on HBO Max.
★ The Long Walk — New Trailer
Is there any other name than Stephen King that automatically screams a whole convention room full of horror-loving freaks? Probably not. King's classic 1979 dystopian novel The Long Walk (originally published under his pen name Richard Bachman) will finally make its feature film debut this year after decades in production hell. A number of filmmakers were attached to bring King's novel to the big screen over the years, but it never happened due to a variety of issues and false starts. It took Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence and screenwriter JT Mollner (writer-director of the horror hit Strange Darling) to finally come up with the right combination of story and budget.
With an ensemble of mostly rising actors—including Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza), David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), and Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World)—and Star Wars icon Mark Hamill arguably the biggest name in the cast as the main baddie, this dystopian thriller gets to the heart of what a totalitarian regime could look like if America ever broke bad.
In the film, a group of young men are forced to compete in an annual walking contest in which they must maintain a certain level of speed or risk being executed on the spot. The race ends when one person is left standing... or left walking, rather. The metaphor in the book was tied to the Vietnam War draft, but now it takes on a new relevance in an age where the very idea of what it means to be an American is under constant scrutiny
The film opens September 12th in theaters.
✪ Gen V — Season 2 Trailer
The success of Gen V proved there's real sustainability in the universe of The Boys. And you don’t necessarily need to be directly connected to the flagship show—viewers can simply enjoy fresh stories with new characters set in a completely different world, like a university designed to train the next generation of supes.
But now that these characters have been established, fans are starting to wonder how everything fits together. Perhaps it’s time to reveal more of a connection—to show how Gen V isn't just a side story, but a crucial chapter in the larger, blood-soaked saga of The Boys. And so it seems Season 2 of Gen V will have more direct ties to The Boys, diving deeper into the consequences of the supe virus, the fallout from the university massacre, and the looming presence of Vought pulling the strings from behind the curtain. Not to mention a few surprise appearances from The Boys themselves, crossing over into Gen V.
So, what better way to let people in on what’s coming than with the release of a brand-new full trailer for Season 2 of Gen V, which dropped this weekend at Comic-Con.
Now Season 2 arrives with a heavy heart, as one of the cast members will not be returning—bringing a certain level of poignancy and sensitivity to how the show moves forward. Rising actor Chance Perdomo, who portrayed Andre Anderson, the magnetic, metal-manipulating son of superhero Polarity, tragically died in a motorcycle accident last year, halting the start of production.
Show producers have said they will honor the late Perdomo, as his character will reportedly be missing throughout the season, with his father Polarity (again played by Sean Patrick Thomas) taking on the emotional weight of the storyline as he searches for the truth behind his son’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, it seems the focus will continue to center on Jaz Sinclair’s character Marie Moreau, a blood-bending rabble-rouser who, from the looks of the new trailer, just might be developing powers that could one day rival even Homelander himself. And her motives for returning to Godolkin University—the site of all her trauma, betrayal, and bloodshed—may stem from a plea by hero supe Starlight (Erin Moriarty), who has a plan that just might tip the balance in the fight against Vought.
But it requires Marie’s help... and the support of her friends—if there’s any hope of pulling it off.
Gen V: Season 2 debuts Wednesday, September 17th on Prime Video.
✪ Star Trek: Starfleet Academy — First Look Teaser
Now it wouldn’t be Comic-Con without some Star Trek announcements. Debuting this weekend at San Diego is the first look at Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, a new Paramount+ original series set in the 32nd century. For comparison, the original Star Trek series took place in the 23rd century, while The Next Generation was set in the 24th century. So, this is a far-distant future in the Star Trek universe—where James T. Kirk is now best remembered as the name placarded on the side of a pavilion at the academy.
Esteemed Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter leads the series, playing Captain Nahla Ake. She's the chancellor of Starfleet Academy as well as the captain of the USS Athena. In this teaser, we see her addressing the new class of Starfleet cadets, noting that they’re the first academy class to return to the San Francisco campus in over 120 years.
This new series will follow the lives of several cadets, each of whom has arrived at the academy for different reasons—some fulfilling family expectations, others chasing personal ambitions. But all of them will be pushed to their limits to see if they can live up to the legacy of Starfleet.
For a nice bonus, we also get to see Tig Notaro back as Jett Reno, the sharp-witted engineer from the USS Discovery, as well as actor Robert Picardo reprising his iconic role as The Doctor—a 900-year-old hologram from Star Trek: Voyager who now serves as a teacher at the academy.
The teaser ends with our first glimpse of Paul Giamatti as Nus Braka, a Klingon/Tellarite hybrid who has been billed as the show’s main villain—but who just might have a mysterious connection to one of the cadets.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is slated to premiere sometime in early 2026 on Paramount+.
✪ The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — Season 3 Trailer
Anyone who has been to Comic-Con will attest that later in the day the crowds of attendees can feel like they move and act like mindless zombies. It's just the nature of the beast—people get tired, sweaty, and some might even look like they’ve just crawled out of the zombie apocalypse or narrowly escaped a Walker bite.
So, it’s the perfect place to reveal the full look at Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon—which, at this point, might as well be called Daryl & Carol. Actress Melissa McBride is now fully onboard, having reunited with Norman Reedus’ Daryl last season in France.
Season 3 finds Daryl and Carol actively trying to make their way back home, but not without a detour through Spain. And the country is taking Day of the Dead—Día de los Muertos, or Día de las Brujas—to a whole new, blood-soaked level.
The series, which is set to conclude with its upcoming fourth season, returns with Season 3 on Sunday, September 7th on AMC and AMC+.
✪ Spartacus: House of Ashur — Comic Con Teaser
Who says death can keep a man down? In the blood-soaked realm of gladiators, death is nothing but an inconvenient pause... a temporary setback on the road to vengeance, glory, or both.
Spartacus actor Nick E. Tarabay is back as Ashur, a conniving former gladiator whose sharp tongue has gotten him out of more life-and-death situations than most warriors survive in a lifetime. Now yes, he died in the finale of 2012's cult hit series Spartacus: Vengeance. But what if he lived? And what if he was rewarded with his own gladiator school? Then the Gods are truly miraculous.
In this new spinoff series Spartacus: House of Ashur (set in an alternate timeline where Ashur survived and now runs his own gladiator stable), the question becomes: what if the game sees its most ruthless schemer take the reins of power?
But even Ashur himself might not be prepared for the newest surprise to arrive at his camp… a female gladiator. Now the games of blood and sword just got deadlier, more unpredictable, and a hell of a lot more interesting.
Tenika Davis takes on the role of Achillia, a female gladiator who not only must prove her worth but also go against the laws and traditions of a male-dominated arena. With every fight, every victory, and every defiance, she becomes a symbol of rebellion within Ashur’s twisted empire—and possibly the one force who can lead the house to glory.
Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight returns as executive producer. Spartacus: House of Ashur is coming this winter exclusively on STARZ. A new blood-soaked trailer dropped this weekend at Comic-Con.
✪ Percy Jackson and the Olympians — Season 2 Teaser
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of those properties that never quite got its due. Despite having a devoted fanbase and a rich, mythology-infused world to draw from, the franchise struggled to find its footing on the big screen. But thanks to the success of its recent Disney+ reboot, Percy is finally getting the heroic treatment he deserves.
And perhaps the small screen works better for this adaptation of Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy book series about a boy named Percy Jackson, who learns of his heritage as a demigod (the son of Poseidon) and is thrust into a world of Greek gods, monsters, and legendary quests.
Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) returns as Percy, the teen hero who finds himself back at Camp Half-Blood while under siege from the forces of Kronos, one year after the events of the first season. With his friendship with Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) ever evolving, and after learning he has a cyclops for a brother (Daniel Diemer) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) has gone missing, Percy sets off to set things right—leading him into the deadly Sea of Monsters.
Season 2 is set to premiere at the end of the year, Wednesday, December 10th on Disney+. The Season 2 teaser debuted this weekend at Comic Con.

✪ Upload — Season 4 Sneak Peek Clip
Amazon Prime's comedy series Upload returns for its fourth season, and Comic-Con delivered a sneak peek at what's to come. Created by Greg Daniels, this sharp sci-fi satire is set in a near future where people can upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife upon dying... think of it as the cloud-based version of heaven. The catch? The rich get to enjoy an afterlife of five-star luxury, while the less fortunate are stuck in a glitchy, bargain-basement version of eternity. And that economic divide creates all kinds of moral and logistical chaos over who gets access to the afterlife they desire—and who’s stuck buffering forever. Starring Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Zainab Johnson, Allegra Edwards, and Kevin Bigley, Season 4 of Upload will be the show’s final season. No afterlife here. It’s game over. Upload Season 4 premieres Monday, August 25th on Prime Video.
✪ Pluribus — Date Announcement Teaser
What is it? It’s Pluribus, a new series from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan. What’s it about? No clue. One thing's for sure: when Gilligan's behind the camera, expect the unexpected. Here’s what we do know: it stars Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn and takes place in present-day Albuquerque, New Mexico. There’s a sci-fi bent, with some early comparisons to The Twilight Zone. Whatever it is, it’s bound to mess with your mind. Pluribus premieres Friday, November 7th exclusively on Apple TV+.
