Colin Firth Portrays a Father's Fight for Justice in Trailer for Peacock's New British Miniseries "Lockerbie: A Search For Truth" About the Tragic 1988 Pan Am Flight Bombing
Based on the tragic true story of the 1988 Pan Am Flight disaster, Colin Firth stars as a grieving father determined to uncover the truth and demand justice in the new British biographical miniseries "Lockerbie: A Search For Truth," premiering on Peacock in January. Check out the official full-length trailer above.
In this five-episode drama, Colin Firth portrays Jim Swire, an English doctor who relentlessly pursued a thorough investigation into the tragedy of Pan Am Flight 103. Swire sought truth and accountability for what became one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in UK history.
On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the town of Lockerbie just 38 minutes after takeoff, killing all 259 passengers and crew members, along with 11 residents of the quiet Scottish town. Among the victims was Jim Swire's 23-year-old daughter, Flora, prompting him to become a tireless advocate for justice in her memory.
Joining Colin Firth in the cast is Catherine McCormack ("Braveheart," "Slow Horses") as Jim Swire's wife, Jane. The ensemble also features Sam Troughton, Mark Bonnar, Ardalan Esmaili, Mudar Abbara, Guy Henry, Nabil Al Raee, Jemma Carlton, Harry Redding, and Rosanna Adams.
The series is directed by Otto Bathurst ("Peaky Blinders") and Jim Loach ("Criminal Record") and written by David Harrower ("Outlaw King") and Maryam Hamidi ("Vigil"). It is based on the memoir "The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father's Search for Justice" by Jim Swire and Peter Biddulph.
"Lockerbie: A Search For Truth" premieres January 2, 2025, exclusively on Peacock.
