Eiza Gonzalez and Aaron Paul Navigate Trust and Survival on a Distant Alien Planet in Teaser Trailer for Upcoming Space Horror "Ash" From Flying Lotus
We all know that in space, no one can hear you scream. But what's even more terrifying isn't the absence of help -- it's the thought that someone else is there with you, someone you don't know and certainly can't trust.
Check out the first official teaser for "Ash," a new psychological space horror-thriller about an explorer who wakes up on a mysterious planet to find her entire crew slaughtered. When a mysterious rescuer arrives at her site, she must decide whether to trust him with her safety as she pieces together her fragmented memories of the events leading to the massacre.
Eiza Gonzalez, from the Netflix series "3 Body Problem" and films like "Baby Driver," "Ambulance," and "Godzilla vs. Kong," stars as Riya, the sole survivor of a mysterious massacre that claimed the lives of her entire space crew.
Aaron Paul, best known for "Breaking Bad," co-stars as Brion, a space traveler dispatched to rescue Riya and her crew, only to discover that Riya claims her team was killed by a mysterious attack. The real question is, can Brion trust what Riya is saying is true, and can Riya trust Brion with her life?
"Ash" is directed by rapper-musician/record producer Flying Lotus (aka Steven Ellison). This is his second feature film as a director, following his feature directorial debut with the 2017 surrealist horror comedy "Kuso." This time, Flying Lotus is working with a script written by Swiss filmmaker Jonni Remmler.
Featuring supporting performances by Iko Uwais ("The Raid"), Beulah Koale ("Hawaii Five-0"), and Kate Elliott ("Wentworth"), "Ash" is executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, of "District 9," "Elysium," and "Chappie" fame. The film will be coming out sometime in 2025 in theaters, followed by a streaming release on Shudder. Watch the teaser above.
