Check out the first official teaser for "Twisted Metal," the new, upcoming Peacock original series based on the classic PlayStation game series, which stars MCU star Anthony Mackie as post-apocalyptic delivery driver John Doe.

Written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) who serves as executive producer alongside "Deadpool" scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, the streaming series takes place in a Mad Max-like post-apocalyptic world.

Mackie plays a heavily-armed delivery man who drives in a souped-up sedan. He travels across a dangerous wasteland of post-apocalyptic America, delivering milk to the last remaining survivors. Along the way, he must battle raiders, mutants, and the elements in order to complete his deliveries.

In addition to Mackie, the cast includes Stephanie Beatriz (as Quiet), Thomas Haden Church (as Agent Stone), Richard Cabral (as Loud), Samoa Joe (as Sweet Tooth), and Will Arnett (voice of Sweet Tooth), with Neve Campbell, Mike Mitchell, and Chloe Fineman.

"Twisted Metal" is slated to premiere on the streaming service Peacock this summer, beginning on July 27th. Watch the teaser above.

synopsis:
Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
